I don't know a whole lot but I do know that you should reduce triggers (which you have by controlling your dog), stimulate them to help them release energy (because some cats release energy through aggression; you could spend some time playing with the cat if it will tolerate your presence), and not touching the cat when it's angry and instead redirecting its attention with a toy or noise by like shaking a jar of pennies. Another thing that sometimes works is giving the cat scratching posts and places to perch.
