In the first couple of seasons there weren't and the series was only called Sentai. It wasn't until the Japanese Spider-Man show introduced the giant mecha Leopardon, that Sentai introduced their own mecha, which then prompted them to change their title to Super Sentai. And you should watch some. They get super intense, though still ridiculous mostly, and are a lot of the times better written.
There are currently three seasons available to stream (legally) on Shout Factory TV (which translates to footage used for the first 3 seasons of Power Rangers), and there are currently 5 seasons available on DVD with a 6th coming in October.
Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger (MMPR Season 1)
Gosei Sentai Dairanger (MMPR Season 2, and my favorite so far)
Ninja Sentai Kakuranger (MMPR Season 3)
On DVD we also have:
