Waste of time when you have this. Don't think I wouldn't spot that extended gold box set of LORD OF THE RINGS MOTHERFUCKER! PUT IT ON NOW!
Edit: This thread right now.
PhotoshopPaint skills....off the charts!Edit2: In case anyone is interested in this extremely complete and amazing set of the LOTR movies, you can purchase it here. I watch it all at least once a year, and even most of the special features as I find it one of the best special features of any film to watch. So amazing how they made these.
Edit4: Many (including myself) have purchased this set in previous years for $50 usually around thanksgiving/christmas so you might want to wait to purchase then. Also, some are skeptical of my Amazon link and to them I say, buy from wherever you want MOTHER FUCKERS! I buy almost anything I can through Amazon Prime because it's just a phenomenal deal, especially if you have the student rate. Oh Amazon, I love you so much....I certainly don't work for you but I would totally if you asked wink wink
Literally just bought this, and was about to post it here too. Link

You might be interested in the documentary The Brainwashing of My Dad which is free to stream if you have Amazon Prime. I thought it was one of the best documentaries I've seen the past year.
If any of you are lacking in quality, the Blu Ray extended box set is down to $26 on Amazon for a deal of the day today!

Amazon has a documentary about that
It's a set of 6 movies (Avengers, Captain America, Thor, Iron Man I, Iron Man II and The Incredible Hulk) It also contains a whole bunch of other goodies.

Propaganda. Fox News is the best thing to ever happen to the Republican party.
edit:
There's a good documentary about this phenomenon called The Brainwashing of my Dad. It's about a guy who used to have rational political debates with his dad, even though his dad is a conservative and the son is liberal. When his dad started watching Fox News everyday that all changed. His father became irate, unreasonable, unwilling to listen to criticism or differing opinions. The documentary follows the process of deprogramming him.
It's a real and serious problem.
Emby Server + Futurama DVD set + Handbrake
Own Netflix built, eh forget the blackjack and hookers
They think like this because it is how they've been programmed over the course of decades to think. I watched that earlier today and it's incredibly informative with regards to what has happened to the Republicans party and their supporters. It's actually really scary.
You also have to wait till release dates. The Avengers is out September 25th on Blu-ray/Blu-ray 3D/etc
Except it leaked to the internet yesterday. Mobile device? standard low res available. Better mobile/low res PC? 720p.
Want to go all out? Complete 1080p copy, bit for bit (no recompression) dump of the Blu-ray disc, plus the extras disc as well
The Avengers (2012) Blu-ray 1080p AVC DD5 1 PLUS Bonus Disk 61.2 GB
Want it in Blu-ray 3D? They've got that full dump as well.
The Avengers 2012 1080p Blu-ray 3D AVC DTS-HD MA 7 1-HDCL 41 GB
First is larger because it includes the extras disc dump.
Not worried about admitting I grabbed a 720p copy last night. I've preordered this (anyone want to buy my Iron Man 2 and Captain America Blu-Rays since they'll now be redundant? :D jk, giving them to friends):
Marvel Cinematic Universe: Phase One - Avengers Assembled (10-Disc Limited Edition Six-Movie Collector's Set) [Blu-ray] (2012)
http://i.imgur.com/sRaMG.jpg
If Hollywood has a problem, they'd best stop getting their supply leaked, or artificially making people wait while they've loaded up warehouses a month in advance. I still pay good money to see movies I like, and buy them on disc or digital. I saw it in the theater, I pre-ordered the super set, I drove over an hour recently to see The Dark Knight Rises in true IMAX (i.e. 80+ foot screen) full 70mm 15 perf film presentation. Ticket was more, but way better than standard digital showing and way better than that fake IMAX crap. (Only do this for stuff shot in actual IMAX and not in stupid 3D)
But the 720p pirated copy has value to me that they don't provide despite getting the $140 set. I can play this on my phone super easy without converting my Blu-Rays or using some stupid DRM-based service.
Oh, and unlike all the other Blu-ray versions of The Avengers (and options on most of the other movies, like my Captain America and Iron Man 2 Blu-ray copies), the full set has no DVD copies as well. Nor does it have any digital copies, or soundtracks downloads that are some of the individual releases. So if I wanted to use their DRM service, I'd have to buy the other copies in addition to the $140 set. Thanks, no, I think I've paid enough. I'll just have to pirate for my mobile devices, sorry you didn't think of this Paramount.
Obligatory you must watch/read these regarding Fox if you haven't post:

A challenger appears!
That article reminds me exactly of this movie I watched on Amazon Prime: The Brainwashing of My Dad.
It also hits way too close to home. I'm a gay 26 year old dude. My parents found out I was gay my sophomore year of HS, then we swept it under the rug, then I came out officially freshman year of college. We swept that under the rug too. They aren't homophobic at all, they just live a pretty sheltered life. I know if I had a boyfriend to bring home, it'd totally cool, but I don't know how to make the rest of it normal. I'm a super open dude in general, but it's strange; I have a super close relationship with my parents...while there's kind of a huge part of me I put on mute.
I say all of this to bring up what you mentioned. I'm from New Jersey, and my family is from Philly, so most people aren't the typical right wing crazy you'd expect in the south. Politics were never talked about in my household, but for the past few years, I've seen a strange anger rise in my father. His ONLY source of information is Fox News. He doesn't read any magazines, newspapers, online articles, or anything of that sort - just Fox on tv and the app on his phone. He's always been the nicest guy, so seeing this new rage is something that came as a surprise.
He has never said anything about the LGBT community, but there's some kind of implicit wrong I feel about his recent set of views. He didn't vote for Trump, but he seems to defend him and his administration in random spurts whenever I'm around (I imagine he does this when I'm not around too). I knew the type of people that Trump was putting in his orbit, and some of the harm that would come to the LGBT community throughout the next few years (let alone everything else). I doubt he even knows about this, but even if he did, who knows what his response would be. I'm not really sure how Fox News became a safe haven for my father and how that transformed his worldview, but it's most definitely had a huge influence.
It pains me that I'd like to be able to point out the issues I have with everything, but my family is not one to delve into feelings, so I pass on it and don't say anything.
TLDR; gay dude, father who was never into politics but is now obsessed with Fox News, don't even know how to start any types of discussion
I think it is as simple as where he consumed his news. It was non-stop hatred and misinformation regarding Obama's administration. He did not just say one day that "I think Obama doesn't have a valid US Birth Certificate". No he was told this by someone / somewhere and he ate it up.
EDIT: I've been told that this film addresses what I am talking about "The Brainwashing of my Dad". Full Disclosure: I have not seen it yet but I intend to because I have relatives that are like this so much that it has affected and/or destroyed our relationship.
Today I watched the movie The Brainwashing of my Dad on Amazon. Holy shit. It was amazing. She draws a very clear picture of right wing media, the influence of AM talk radio and Fox News and how it has affected people in this country. I highly recommend it.
Trump is an easily-debunked FWD:FWD:FWD email from Grandma come to life.
> Everything up to, and including, Age of Ultron = Phase 2
Ant-Man is also part of Phase 2 (it's in the box set and listed as such, though the fan wiki doesn't list the source).
> years upon years of listening to the radio which was full of hateful vitriol and slander
Yikes... that sounds all-too familiar.
See: The Brainwashing of My Dad
" the left doesn't care to tell the difference between any of the various alt-right groups and is just labeling them all Nazi's as an easy way to gain support to fight us, their opposition."
Here's the thing...my parents used to be conservative, and kind, rational, moral, clear thinking people.
After nearly 20 years of Fox news that has changed.
In fact, it changes almost daily. During the election they hated Trump, and supported Kasich, even after Trump was elected they expressed some dismay and embarrassment, but now they moved onto an emotional and nearly hysterical defense of him.
It's irrational....and for my brothers and I, alarming.
How could our totally decent parents have slipped down a slope to such a point that they are now recklessly unaware of what they are saying? It's like they are different people than the ones who raised us.
Is it that their old brains can use logic anymore?
Is it that their old egos are so frightened of being 'wrong' they'd rather become moral contortionists to defend their selfish and bizarre views?
My parents went to public schools, and now are against them.
My parents used birth control, and now are against it.
My parents encouraged me to go to college, now they think it's a liberal brain-washing factory.
My parents condemned genocide, ethnic cleansing, and racial hatred, now they have sympathy for it.
WTF happened?
I totally respected their conservative positions before they got all flipped out on Fox news. We used to be able to have meaningful discussions about the pros and cons of each side - that, sadly, is no longer possible.
I tell you this, because my experience is not unusual, it's common. Wrong or right, a whole generation has watched our parents' morality degrade into hatefulness.
Even if I do care about the finer shades of gray within conservative discourse, I have to deal with the effects of a long-term, right-wing misinformation campaign, and what it has done to my family - which wears my patience very, very thin.
OH MY GOD LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT FROZEN OKAY FROZEN IS THE BEST DISNEY MOVIE IN TWENTY YEARS AND YOU NEED TO SEE IT NOOOOOOW
The Swordfish from Cowboy Bebop, a show about a group of luckless bounty hunters. I recommend it. Kind of like Firefly, but within the next hundred years and no overarching malicious empire. Most people, including me, recommend watching episode 5 first, and then watching the rest in order.

ESPECIALLY if they're of the age to remember the Cold War, "Duck and Cover", the McCarthy hearings.
I'd start calling Trump "Putin's Bitch" and referring to "Moscow Mitch" every chance you get.
Also, Amazon Prime Video has a great documentary on how the modern "conservative" movement was formed to promote the concerns of international corporations, and how they used the media to sway American voters.
The Brainwashing of My Dad
Doubt they want to see the historical roots of FOX News (scum from the Nixon administration), and their part in "the vast right-wing conspiracy" (really just international corporations like Koch Bros, etc. fighting taxation), but it could be eye-opening to you and DH.

>it’s actually impossible to buy an official copy of Star Wars as it was first released.
?
EDIT: Yes, I'm aware the GOUT is "not as good" as a Blu-ray copy, but to say it's "impossible to find" is a total exaggeration. It's out there, it might not be in 4K, but it exists. This project is an impressive feat even without the hyperbole.
They released the original Star Wars on a two-disc set back in '06. If I had known they were going for this much, I wouldn't have traded mine in last year for the BDs.
EDIT: Ah, it's reasonable used.
This DVD set from 2008 has the theatrical versions on the bonus discs...but I'm guessing those are just the '93 laserdisc versions put onto the DVDs? The quality is not so great, but I believe they are the non-special edition versions.

That's just how it is. Believe it or not, Funimation's prices are actually pretty decent. Sentai is similarly priced.
If you really want to shit your pants, go look at Aniplex USA or Ponycan USA releases. Kill La Kill BD Volume 1. Release date: July 15, 2014. Episodes 1-4. ONE THROUGH FUCKING FOUR. $40.00 USD. "Oh that's just the MSRP direct from the walletfuckers, it'll be cheaper from other retailers." Nope and [Amazon link unavailable because Amazon doesn't even carry it].
You paid $30 for Steins;Gate because you bought it when they released the whole thing branded as an anime classic. I know this, because that's when I bought it. That was a rerelease. The original was offered as two split cours that came out a few months apart and each had prices higher than the classic bundle.
This is what Funimation and Sentai do, with few exceptions:
Sentai doesn't really do rereleases, instead they just regularly (but only temporarily) slash the prices of a lot of their old stock. They have a decent sale going on now, but a few months back they had drastically cut down the prices on a lot of their content, with some subtitle-only releases going for $15 per season (on BD!) and dubbed releases for $18.
All those prices are absurd. You can get the entire series on Blu-ray for $36:

No, that one is canon within the MCU. The Hulk movie that isn't canon within the MCU is simply Hulk staring Eric Bana. The Incredible Hulk is within the MCU as demonstrated by:
The reason Edward Norton has not been in an MCU movie since is that he has some disagreements on how things should be played out. In particular, he was upset that an attempted suicide scene was cut from The Incredible Hulk and replaced with the one-off "Oh crap" gag when he jumps out of a helicopter. Norton himself recommended Mark Ruffalo to take his place.
It's the MCU Phase Two collectors set! The base has all the movies in it and the orb has a light up power stone inside
Looks like it includes Incredible Hulk to me
You can buy all 10 seasons on Amazon instant for $94.90 and own and stream them for as long as Amazon exists (basically forever). Or buy the Box Set on DVD for $69.99.
This is just plain wrong. I actually have DVDs from a limited release they did (I think in 08) of the original Theatrical versions. People act like they straight don't exist but they are just very rare. But you can bet if those DVDs exist then Lucalfilm/Disney has digital copies somewhere
In case someone doesn't believe me, here is it listed on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Trilogy-Widescreen-Theatrical/dp/B001EN71DG/ref=tmm_dvd_title_15?_encoding=UTF8&qid=&sr=
Lucas did release the theatrical versions on DVD. Here's a box set that contains both versions, but I remember getting the single DVDs from Wal*mart for a lot cheaper.
Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!
I highly recommend the documentary "The Brainwashing of My Dad." It's about how right wing media transformed the filmmaker's elderly father from a caring Democrat into a fearful, angry conservative. It tore the family apart. However, they were able to change his media habits and revert his personality, like he snapped out of a fever dream.
It's on Amazon Instant, and it's a fascinating look at how right wing media operates and how it affects its consumers.
The Brainwashing Of My Dad is a documentary about this phenomenon. ...here's the trailer for it on youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qh3TeTxgNVo

If you like SciFi at all, Fix this.
Today.
Watch at least three episodes.
I'm not kidding.
You can get the series for less than $25 on Amazon if you get it used.
If you're a bit morally ambigious, torrent it.
Hell, Hulu has a few episodes. Of course they don't have the common decency of putting up the first episode.
You can get the Laserdisc editions on DVD from Amazon. The DVDs have the 2004 remastered version, plus a "bonus" disc advertised as the original theatrical release. They're really just the Laserdisc versions put onto DVD.
It looks like not all of them are for sale directly from Amazon any more, but you should be able to find them elsewhere (including the Amazon Marketplace) if you're interested in them.
You can actually buy them on DVD. I'm surprised it's not on Amazon any more, but I bought this from Amazon about 6 months ago for 30 bucks. It's a "two disc special edition" version of each movie, meaning one disc with the remaster and a "bonus disc" with the unaltered original. One of my favorite purchases.

Check it out, it strikes so many chords with me and is eerilly similar to how my Dad changed over time. He was never a liberal by any means, but over time it's turned to a burning hatred. Last straw was when he straight up told me (a social science high school teacher at the time) that Critical Thinking was liberal brainwashing. I just feel like I can't connect to him on any level after that.

This is not the first time they released a box like this (meaning the content+design), so they might again in the future. The original price was $215 during pre-order.
The only official collection of Ghibli movies is the Hayao Miyazaki Blu-ray box from Amazon.
Anything else you find is an illegal bootleg.
An Isao Takahata Blu-ray box was released in Japan, but it has not been released in America.
Fox News is a fucking cancer and I have no idea how we can cure it. Luckily younger generations watch less TV, so hopefully it just dies with the Boomers.
Edit: See if you can get your dad to watch the documentary "The Brainwashing of My Dad". It's on Amazon Prime.

It gets more than a little liberal echo-chambery after the first half, but before that it is a heartfelt and compelling examination of how moderate, reasonable people became slowly radicalized by right-wing media. Watching it, I felt like the narrator, describing her own personal experience, was talking about my dad.
Most of them seem to be under 55%, besides the DBZ sale.
Steins;Gate is 55% off, which is a really good deal
What if I create a web server that takes all the news from CNN and restyles it so it looks like you're reading Breitbart. And then when you're home you can configure your router to redirect that DNS entry and they spend the next year reading CNN and thinking it's Breitbart.

I picked up my copies in '06. The moment they mentioned a second disc, with the ORIGINAL movie on it (Not remastered. Didn't care, I loved lower quality VHS,) I knew it would be a purchase I had no choice but to make, as it would be the last opportunity for decades.
Here's the copypasta of my /r/loseit post so you don't need to click:
[And] here's my 1 year post from January, for most of the details about where/how I started and what I've been doing.
Stats:
Food: mostly slow carb (legumes, veggies, protein), one cheat day a week. Occasional other cheat days for special occasions/holidays.
Exercise: was very sporadic, but I'm close to finishing my second round of the 30 Day Shred (with some rest days this time), and have just started with the Zombies, Run! C25K training app (but damn it is hot where I am at the moment). I can't believe that I am a person who considers exercise a part of her life now (at least recently)! It is weird to realise sometimes, but I really enjoy seeing what my body can do and getting noticeably stronger (there are muscles under here somewhere!). I have started worrying about the scale a lot less, and focusing on skills and measurements more.
Tracking: I keep a ridiculously detailed and ever-expanding spreadsheet on Google Docs which includes (but is not limited to) weight in kilos and pounds, 7 day moving average, moving difference over 1, 2, 4, and 8 weeks, projections, goals and dates achieved, graphs, measurements, and body fat percentage. I also track steps, exercise, and weight with Fitbit, and then view yet more graphs with TrendWeight and WeightGrapher. I take weekly measurements and progress photos and keep them in a diary app on my phone (Memoires for those who are interested. I like it because it gives the option to keep the photos encrypted and separate from the rest of the ones in the main memory).
Motivation: I've gotten to the point where I'm just doing what I'm doing, which is kind of awesome. The food is never a huge problem (although I do get tempted to snack sometimes), but I found that if I wasn't "doing" exercise (e.g. if I felt like I was taking a break for a few days), it was way too easy to just lapse. So currently I am exercising. That's just the way it is. I also signed up for the most recent round of /r/90daysgoal, and the community there is awesome at being supportive, helpful, and knowledgeable. I've read a couple of self-help-ish books, and though I haven't actively followed any plans, I've definitely incorporated a lot of the concepts into my daily thinking and planning. I'm also motivated by my ridiculous spreadsheet, and the awesome stories here and on /r/progresspics.

Seriously, cut him off from Fox if you can. He won't be the dad you remember otherwise.

Simple answer.

That is definitely a bootleg. The cover looks cheap, and it is extremely rare for official releases to include everything in one item (Official releases of the TV series and Movie are separate items).
I'm going to assume you don't speak Japanese and are looking for a release with english subtitles, so:
I don't know what country you live in, which is important because of region codes.
If you are in North America you are fine with this one by Funimation, and there is a European release by Manga Entertainment but elsewhere you might be out of luck.
Also if you are just looking for Steins;Gate merchandise in general, like figures or music or something, these are legit sites.
Well, it kind of depends if ADV can get the rights to Funimation, if they can't then we might not see NGE Blu-Rays in NA. If they can however, Funimation is really good about getting boxsets on the market for cheap, see Cowboy Bebop for refrence.
It was pulled from the Japanese Miyazaki box set for that reason. It was made available as a free bonus disc with proof of purchase, but only while quantities lasted, and I imagine the print run has been exhausted by now. That distribution decision is probably the reason it ended up being omitted from the Amazon-exclusive US equivalent of the Miyazaki collection too. I'm not aware of any official (licensed) US home video distribution of this short.
I don't think it was pulled from any museum exhibits, though, and AFAIK it's never been shown as a short there.
You can still buy it: http://www.amazon.com/Marvel-Cinematic-Universe-Assembled-Incredible/dp/B0083SBMGW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1411672819&sr=8-1&keywords=marvel+phase+one+blu-ray+box+set
I bought it on launch and ended up giving away my phase one blu-rays that i already owned to my sister for her kids. I decided to not buy any of the phase 2 movies until box set released.

$70 aint bad for 140 episode, but the historic low according to camel whatever is about 30% off that price.
Steins;Gate! It's my favorite anime and it's one of the best. Currently $30 on amazon. https://www.amazon.com/Steins-Gate-Complete-Classic-Blu-ray/dp/B00KU3Y5CG/
Hmm, it appears to be sold out atm though... Also sold out on rightstuf... And sold out at Best Buy... Wow.

It does seem like the episode of Firefly where River Tam tears pages from a Bible might be linked to Jefferson's production of his own Bible.
Book: What are we up to, sweetheart?
River Tam: Fixing your Bible.
Book: I, um...
[alarmed]
Book: What?
River Tam: Bible's broken. Contradictions, false logistics - doesn't make sense.
[she's marked up the bible, crossed out passages and torn out pages]
Book: No, no. You-you-you can't...
River Tam: So we'll integrate non-progressional evolution theory with God's creation of Eden. Eleven
inherent metaphoric parallels already there. Eleven. Important number. Prime number. One goes into
the house of eleven eleven times, but always comes out one. Noah's ark is a problem.
Book: Really?
River Tam: We'll have to call it early quantum state phenomenon. Only way to fit 5000 species of
mammal on the same boat.
[rips out page]
Book: River, you don't fix the Bible.
River: It's broken. It doesn't make sense.
Book: It's not about making sense. It's about believing in something, and letting that belief be real enough
to change your life. It's about faith. You don't fix faith, River. It fixes you.

HERE Includes DVDs with the unaltered versions. LIterally, the only movies I own. Though, the cheaper option may be the "De-Specialized" fan edit, which I've yet to see.
Oddly the blu-ray version is significantly cheaper than the DVD right now (and includes all the extras on DVD, only the movies are on blu-ray). $50 vs. $91
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0026L7H20
I agree with Stall0ne that the extras are great!
Yup. Check out a documentary called The Brainwashing of My Dad. It is on Amazon Videos. Fox has been designed to be fucked up.
I bought this thing back when it came out. I AM THE PROUD OWNER OF A GLOWING TESSERACT. I'm already looking forward to and saving the funds for whatever the phase 2 box set will be. These things are complete pandering money grabs and I don't even care. Want.
Oh FFS! It's £216.54 in the UK! Dammit!
If you want legitimate copies, you can just buy them off of Amazon. Each movie is on it's own disc,
such as Bender's Game. You can get the single discs for all the movies or get the full collection (which is probably a better value).
A Ghibli BD collection doesn't exist. Due to several companies owning the rights to individual films. The closest you'll get is The Collected Works of Hayao Miyazaki. https://www.amazon.com/Collected-Miyazaki-Amazon-Exclusive-Blu-ray/dp/B0117V8BX8
It has 10 of the 22 "Ghibli" films. No other English BD collection exists, if you see anything it's a bootleg.
You can always independently buy the BD of each film. Currently the Disney licensed ones are on sale at Costco for $18 each.
Spirited Away (or any Miyazaki movie). Maybe give her The Collected Works of Hayao Miyazaki for Christmas.

Also, it makes me sad to see things like "Season 1" and "The Complete Series". Too Soon, production people, too soon.
Get this or the dvd version. The collectors edition has all 3 cuts of a fantastic film. Between Theatrical, Directors, and Final cut you can really see all of the different versions of the film. Plus there is a lot of cool extras.
They released a dvd set of the OG trilogy that has 6 disks, 3 are the "enhanced" ones and 3 are what I'm pretty sure are the original ones. So unless I'm mistaken, there are copies left that aren't VHS or whatnot.
Here's a link to that specific version (which costs a ton now) where the top review mentions that it does contain the original versions:
https://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Trilogy-Widescreen-Theatrical/dp/B001EN71DG
*Edit: What's sketchy is that the amazon listing merges several box sets together, and only the blue one with Luke & Vader clashing is the one that contains the OG versions.
http://www.amazon.com/ReBoot-The-Definitive-Mainframe-Edition/dp/B004Q7BF5M
They were limited editions when they came out. It was these editions:

Return of the Jedi
Star Wars IV: A New Hope (Limited Edition) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000FQJAIW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awd_cEWBwbT74T40D
Includes both the updated versions and theatrical releases.
There was also a Best Buy exclusive version.
http://www.swapadvd.com/Star-Wars-Trilogy-Exclusive-Best/dvd/266383/
So, while not on Blu-Ray, the theatrical versions have been released on DVD.
These are very cool as they appear unopened and include the Limited Edition comic books. However, the DVDs used are inexpensive.
Here are 41 copies of Star Wars starting at $14.95.
Here are 35 copies of The Empire Strikes Back starting at $17.46.
Here are 45 copies of Return Of The Jedi starting at $13.95.
For less than $60 anyone can obtain the theatrical versions of the OT. They are not rare.
This is the release you want.
It's Special Edition and original theatrical release. Can't believe I picked it up for $15.
The Starting Strength DVD was extremely helpful to me; otherwise, read what you can and try it. With repetition, you'll figure it out.
Yes, 100x yes. You can find it on Amazon right now for only $50.

I'm a huge fan, one of those people that can quote almost every line. Watching it in BluRay is a whole new experience. Buy it now!
This is the set I purchased not too long ago. It ended up being a UK version but it worked fine on all my players (PS4, Xbone, and some at a friend's house)
https://www.amazon.com/Battlestar-Galactica-Complete-Blu-ray-Packaging/dp/B0027UY8B8
Came with extended versions of episodes (I recommend watching these over the regular ones!), a bunch of extras such as deleted scenes, concept art, commentary. It had a little pamphlet full of spoilers that I recommend new viewers avoid. It has the miniseries, every episode of the show, and Razor (in standard and extended), but it's missing The Plan.
The packaging was neat and fairly sturdy and will definitely last a while. Doesn't look bad either. The price is terrific too.
As for 4K releases, I'm not sure. BSG is kind of a dead franchise like Stargate. At least for now. BSG came back from the dead once and Star Trek did it twice. The problem with 4K and BSG is I'm not sure how well a lot of the shots and effects would hold up and it might require a bit of investment for Universal to make. There would have to be a pretty substantial show of interest among fans for such a project.

ReBoot: The Definitive Mainframe Edition
I really wish I knew about the complete series edition before buying the seasons 1&2 edition. Oh well...
Like magically all of them? No. Especially if the propaganda hose stays on. But some.
There’s a reason propaganda is used in the first place. If people were all just born acting the way they do, nobody would use propaganda or advertising or influence marketing.
You know what you need to do, which I'm now doing with everyone like this before I'll have a conversation: tell them there's 4 things that are required watching materials before you can even begin to have an intelligent conversation with them. Tell them, hey I'll watch 4 things from your sphere, but you have to watch 4 from mine. Then give them this list:
The Dirty Money episode 6 on Donald Trump: Confidence Man
The Brainwashing of My Dad
Justice for Sergei
Active Measures
Let them know, the divide they are fighting over has been artificially created to divide us so they we can be taken advantage of and Fox news is part of an American active measure campaign against our people.
I think the heart of the matter is, in the words of Gabe Newell (Blessed be His name);
"We think there is a fundamental misconception about piracy. Piracy is almost always a service problem and not a pricing problem," he said. "If a pirate offers a product anywhere in the world, 24 x 7, purchasable from the convenience of your personal computer, and the legal provider says the product is region-locked, will come to your country 3 months after the US release, and can only be purchased at a brick and mortar store, then the pirate's service is more valuable."
I used to pirate video games all the time, but since I stated using Steam I've almost completely stopped it. I already have more games in my library than I could possibly finish playing for the foreseeable future, and it's provided by an affordable and reliable service. There's just no reason for me to look elsewhere.
The Anime industry needs to emulate this. Today I can legally download a huge selection of video games but for most anime shows legal streams are simply not available. There needs to be a reliable service which doesn't block out big parts of the world. Not to justify my piracy but I do think producers share some of the blame for why piracy is as widespread as it is. Why is it completely impossible for me to legally watch their show even if I'm willing to pay for it?
It's also the fact that often buying these shows is outrageously expensive. I mean, just compare:
The first 7 Episodes of Sword Art online on DVD cost about as much as the full second season of Game of Thrones on Blu-ray
The limited edition Blu-ray release of the 11 episode run of Nisemonogatari costs about the same as Pre-ordering the entire 62 episode run of Breaking bad on blu-ray
The first season of Haruhi Suzumiya on DVD costs more than All 8 Harry Potter movies on Blu-ray
It may look like I'm cherrypicking but I'm really not. When you buy anime the amount of content you get for your money is far less than if you spend that same amount of money on western shows. This is one of the reasons I own relatively few anime series. I can only accept these kinds of prices if I absolutely must own the show. I do hope you take the price factor into consideration, I feel it's often overlooked and I do think it's one of the things that keeps sales so low. I mean, Haruhi came out 7 years ago. Western shows that old can usually be found for peanuts. One Anime I genuinely wanted to buy was Shinsekai Yori but the series was split in 9 Volumes each costing about 50-80$. Even as a huge fan of the series I just don't have that kind of money.

This set is honestly the best set of movies I own. The box it comes in is simply amazing. its not just a typical cardboard holder. Id recommend checking it out in store to really see what the box is like. The extended edition is not necessary but makes it a little more enjoyable.
as for steel-books, they are the same most of the time, its just the case they come in is just a better box. Sometimes they have cool cover art. I always prefer steel-books just because they look better than the plastic holders.
This is a less confusing link because it actually shows the $25.99 sale.
Assuming you're talking about this one, no it does not.
It looks like you are in desperate need of the Phase One Collection.

Ha you believe in God? You should check this out if you don't want to be so narrow minded and immature for the rest of your life.
Here to go - COSMOS
Amazon has the 2006 Special Edition DVD which includes the (almost) unaltered original cut. It's expensive because it's been out of production.
There are semi-legal releases floating around the internet, including the de-specialized version. Reference the almighty Google machine.
The cut that was shown in theaters has never been released in a completely unaltered form.
"It's literally impossible to see the theatrical cuts on video because they've never been released" is the biggest lie that I hear every day on the internet that I'm most sick of hearing. The theatrical editions of all three films were released on disc 2 of the "Limited Edition" DVDs in 2006.
Yes, it sucks that they're long discontinued and copies are super expensive. Yes, it sucks that they haven't been restored and remastered. Yes, it sucks that Lucasfilm only thinks of the original films as "special features." But if you're willing to spend some money or do some legwork (I've found them readily available at public libraries, and maybe people have had luck at yard sales and used record shops), you can watch the original theatrical trilogy at home, yub nubs and all.
Not 1080p (currently); but the 480p (DVD) can be still purchased:
Edit: Oops I meant 480p not 420p! Thanks for pointing that out
You can buy the original theatrical version on DVD.
Blade Runner - The Final Cut Collectors Edition. This set has the making of documentary "Dangerous Days". It is a great watch and really speaks to how classic film making and in-camera effects is a dying art with all the use of CG now days. A lot of blood sweat and tears went into the making of this film.
Sorry this is coming late, but I thought I'd give my input since I solely use DVDs now. I definitely have seen results, but you have to make sure you can motivate yourself. Once I get into the groove of it, I'm usually good, though, the past few days I've been bad about it. If I have regular routine, I'm usually good about it and I end up working out 5 times a week, though, the past two weeks I've gotten lazy and worked out maybe 3 or 4 times. But some weeks it happens.
The great thing about DVDs is that I can switch them up and do different ones everyday or do two in one day if they're short DVDs. And since I'm mixing it up all the time, my body doesn't get stuck in a rut and I'm generally sore after each of my workouts.
Anyways, my suggestion would be to look at your local library's selection first. This way you can see what DVDs you like before purchasing them. I've definitely bought a few and now don't ever use them because I don't like something about them. Here are a few suggestions I have, though:
Someone suggested The Firm and I have two that I really like: The Firm: Cardio Overdrive and The Firm Bootcamp - Maximum Calorie Burn. These two are great workouts and mix cardio and plyometrics with weights. The instructor, Alison Davis, is also really good at cuing you. I like going to these DVDs on days I have time (I think they're about 50 minutes, though the Cardio Overdrive has a shorter version that is only 30 minutes or so) and really want a big work out.
Someone also mentioned Jillian Michaels - 30 Day Shred, which I really like. It has three levels and each level has three circuits of strength, cardio, and abs. Each level is about 20 minutes so I like doing this on days I don't have a lot of time. Or some days I'll do level 1 and level 2.
If you're not coordinated or if you're feeling kind of lazy, I'd suggest Leslie Sansone. They're lower impact and don't have a lot of complicated moves. You might not see results as quickly using her DVDs, but getting up and moving is better than nothing! I like Leslie Sansone: 5 Really Big Miles and Leslie Sansone: Walk It Off and Tone It Up. The latter has you using a resistance band while walking. I have to warn you, she can be a bit annoying.
Along with the Firm and Jillian Michaels' 30 Day Shred, I think this one is one of my top favorites: Results Fitness: Boost Your Metabolism. It will make you sweat!
10 Minute Solution: Blast Off Belly Fat is another favorite of mine. It has some really good ab workouts. There are 5 different workouts you can choose and each are 10 minutes. I usually do 3 of the 5 - Flat Belly Fast, Ab Ripper and Six Pack Abs. The other two are good, but I just don't love them as much as the other three.
Quick Fix: Total Cardio Kick is one of the first DVDs I bought and used continuously. There are three 10 minute workouts that each target different parts of the body (arms and back, abs, legs and glutes) and a bonus 10 minute workout that works the whole body. I like doing this when I'm low on time.
Double Pump featuring Shpresa - Lower Body Workout is one of my newer DVDs. The lower body workouts are decent, but I really like her ab workouts. If I'm doing an abs day I'll pop in the 10 Minute Solution DVD and choose the abs workout portion of this DVD and will definitely feel it the next day. This one is really good for working out the lower abs, which I generally have a hard time doing.
Denise Austin has a ton of DVDs out there. She was the first DVD I worked out to (besides my mom's Jane Fonda DVD when I was a little kid). Some of her DVDs are better than others and she can be a little annoying. These two are among her better ones: Denise Austin: Boot Camp - Total Body Blast and Ultimate Fat Burner. They use a step in the Ultimate Fat Burner one, which I don't have, but I still get a great workout just doing it on the floor.
For Pilates, I like doing Crunch - Super SlimDown: Pilates Yoga Blend. It's good without being super annoying.
Another Crunch DVD I like is Crunch: Total Resculpt. It has a bunch of different weight exercises.
Now the title of this one is a little misleading: Ageless with Kathy Smith: Total Body Turnaround. It makes it seem like it's for old people, but I was sore from her weights segment the next day. It's not one of my favorites, though, for some reason.
I just started using this one: Shape Toning Workout: Bikini Body All Year-Round. It takes workouts from their magazine and actually shows you how to do them, which I like. I hate looking down at the magazine while trying to do the different moves.
Self - Slim and Sleek Fast is one that I've had for a while. Oddly enough, it's the same instructor as the Crunch Pilates/Yoga DVD I mentioned earlier. She looks different in this one, but it's the same person! It mixes cardio with weights.
Anyways, there are a million different DVDs out there and these were the ones I could think of off the top of my head. Some of them might not be for you, but hopefully you'll like some of them! Like I said, try checking out your local library first. There's usually a ton. Or ask some of your friends. Just about everyone I know has the Jillian Michaels' 30 Day Shred and they might have a few others.
I like doing DVDs because I don't get bored as easily and it pushes me to do more reps and sets and do cardio longer than I would myself. But you have to make sure you can motivate yourself. Plus, I can wear whatever I want, look stupid, and I don't have to go anywhere!
Good luck!
I find I have to exercise every day to maintain my weight. Food and beer are just so yummy!
This works great for me, it's only 20 minutes but it's a concentrated 20 minutes. Every morning! (ok, I take one day off a week usually): http://www.amazon.com/Jillian-Michaels-30-Day-Shred/dp/B00127RAJY

It's cheaper than the US, and it's only missing The Plan.
Get THIS VERSION instead.
It has everything but The Plan.
It is $57.80 shipped to U.S. from amazon.co.uk right now (region-free).
(.co.uk uses the same accounts as .com, and the price you pay is approx. 17% less than the page shows because they don't charge VAT for U.S. customers)
From my experience Blu-Rays are quite often cheaper on amazon.co.uk than amazon.com (just have to keep an eye on the region locking).
edit: apparently this version misses "The Plan" TV movie which the U.S. edition, has, though, but otherwise contains all the same episode content (including the extended episodes), not sure about any extras.
You can just pick it up on DVD from Amazon.
Edit: BAM!
The brainwashing of my dad should be mentioned at this point.

Anything from Malaysia is o most 100% bootleg... I mean why would Japan have any of it in english or Malay ?
Since it's a sub only release(some of them include the english dub) it's just a rip including subs from online :3 and most likely a low quality rip at that. I bet the subs are crap encoded as well :p
Bottom line: They're bull shit and it's totally not a "Japanese import"... if anything it's "Official Maaysia import" which is pretty much a fancy way to say "bootleg" :p

There are a ton of good anime out there, and a lot that also have good dubs, but I'm going to start with what I think are the best of the best, to avoid overwhelming anyone.
-Cowboy Bebop. This scene is from the movie, not the series, but the series is even better! This masterpiece was not only my favorite anime for over a decade and STILL to this day the #1 gateway anime for the uninitiated, but also the first time I felt like I might be selectively gay. It's not freely watchable online, but that doesn't matter because you should have this one in your collection anyway. Still, here's a decent upload of episode 1. If you want the rest (and you should), do the right thing.
-FLCL has one of my favorite scenes to listen to on full blast. Also known as Fooly Cooly, it's rare to see such a good dub for something so off the wall, but it's a good thing considering it's one of the best ever anime made, dub or not! It's also only 6 episodes long, so you'll be at the end (and starting your second viewing, which you'll need to understand the plot) in no time! They're even available free on Hulu!
-Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex (don't watch the related videos if you want to avoid spoilers). Not only is it a great series to begin with like everything else I'm listing here, it's also another great gateway series for sci-fi or cop drama fans, just like Cowboy Bebop. Plus, the ENTIRE English dub of the first series is available for free on Manga Entertainment's channel. It's completely legit, they own the license and host some of their shows for free as a courtesy to combat piracy and market their work. When you're done watching that, get hype to know that there's still another full series called 2nd GIG (with an even BETTER intro, R.I.P. Origa) and a movie called Solid State Society.
-Fullmetal Alchemist:Brotherhood. Don't watch the series that isn't labeled "Brotherhood," and when you watch Brotherhood, skip episode 1. Why not? The original series was made before the manga was finished, and it's a totally different story after the first half (they caught up when the manga was still only about 1/4 done). Brotherhood is twice as long, but started airing at the same time the manga was ending, so it follows the original (and much better) story. Since the first 13 episodes or so of Brotherhood basically retell the exact same events as the original series, the makers decided to show off with a totally original first episode which didn't happen in either the manga OR the original series, and it's completely throwaway filler that doesn't service the plot whatsoever. It even spoils some things for any first-time watcher that can pick up on foreshadowing. That's why the best place to start is Brotherhood Episode 2. However, don't let all those stipulations turn you off! The 63 episodes that you will see if you follow my instructions tell an incredible story that everyone can enjoy. This series is the best at gripping you emotionally in a way that's not forced or unwelcome. It has excellent action without defying its own rules, excellent characters without falling back on references and templates, and excellent drama without making you roll your eyes. This is the sort of storytelling that lesser shows only manage to imitate. Unfortunately, it only seems possible to watch up to episode 4 online without Netflix, and Netflix only has most of the series, not the whole thing.
-Last Exile (not "Fam, the Silver Wing", the original). It's not quite as good as Fullmetal Alchemist. In fact, in my opinion this is the weakest of my list, but it still deserves to be on here. Like I said above, this list isn't just good dubs, it's good dubs for anime that were already good to begin with. It gets a bit weird near the end, but the presentation, writing, and drama throughout are among the best. If you don't mind the Little Miss McGuffin, you may even like this one better than the rest, so try it out! Just be prepared for a major shark jump in the last episode. To be fair, that episode also has TWO of the most heartbreaking moments in all of anime, so if you don't mind being incredibly sad, it may be a net gain. It also has one of the most beautiful credits sequences in the entire medium. If you'd like to watch the whole thing freely, FUNimation hosts this series subbed on their channel, but even better, the ENTIRE dub is free on Hulu, no membership required! You do have to sit through a lot more ads than Youtube though.
-Hellsing Ultimate. Holy shit, Hellsing Ultimate. You want METAL? You don't get much more metal than motherfucking Alucard! You want limiter releases? How about multiple levels of limiters to release? How about the first level makes you an indestructible god of battle? Where do you go from there? You want gore? How about half of someone's head getting shaved off cell by cell like it was against a sanding belt? Ready for Being a Badass 101? Note: Hellsing ULTIMATE, not just the old "Hellsing". This is another Fullmetal Alchemist situation.
-Kill La Kill. As LordRaison said (same link), the dub is pretty good in general, with the exception of Senketsu. Senketsu unfortunately sounds like he isn't invested in what's happening at all, totally the opposite of the original. Besides that one problem, it's a good dub, which is more than I can say for Gurren Lagann. Gurren Lagann currently my favorite anime of all time. It's the one that finally unseated Cowboy Bebop after its decade-long reign, but the dub is just awful, and it doesn't make me happy to say it ;_; Definitely watch Gurren Lagann, but watch it subbed. If you need another reason to watch Kill La Kill, listen to this and then realize that that song goes with the character in the video. The dub isn't easily available anywhere online, but the subbed version (which is just as fantastic as Gurren Lagann) is on Netflix and Crunchyroll.
-Spice and Wolf. It's a half romance, half slice of life, half fantasy, half sports anime, if you consider economics a sport. It definitely won't be to everyone's liking, but there are few better waifus in the world than Holo the Wise Wolf. It's not often you get a respectable, distinguished performance from an actress, since the roles they're hired for in this medium are rarely as respectable or distinguished as Holo herself. Of course, there's nothing respectable about being perfect. Holo is no perfect fantasy, cute in every way she's not capable. She's stuck-up, jealous, needy, high-maintenance, and a fiend for alcohol, but also intelligent, confident, compassionate, funny, and adorable. As ultimate proof that it's not just a show about a moe girl, the male lead is a fully developed character himself. Lawrence is naive but charismatic, ambitious yet realistic, manipulative but also generous. If you want an anime that respects both genders without worshiping them, this is it. Are you ready to leave behind your old waifu? Hulu pulls through again, with the entire first season.
-Dragonball Z (the FUNimation dub), obviously. Everyone's either seen it, or will see it eventually, so get on with it.
And of course, Ghost Stories (NSFW). Sorry! I mean Ghost Stories (really NSFW). SHIT, GHOST STORIES (really, REALLY NSFW)! Fuck it, Ghost Stories.
It's from the MCU Phase 2 Box Set.
> Guardians isn't really apart of the MCU
It absolutely is. Not only was there a character in Guardians who was also in Thor (The Collector), we saw a shot of the infinity stone from Guardians during Thor's vision in Age of Ultron. The Big Bad Guy in Guardians was also Thanos, who will be the Big Bad Guy in Avengers 3
edit: Here's the official, limited edition Marvel Cinematic Universe: Phase 2 Blu-Ray Boxed Set. Note how it includes Guardians of the Galaxy, as well as a model of the infinity stone from Guardians.
There are no officially released complete sets of the Studio Ghibli films. There are some sets though that you can get, which are official:
Japanese Takahata films
Japanese Miyazaki films
North American Miyazaki films Canada
North American Miyazaki films US
I find the best place to purchase the movies is though Amazon though. They have them all, and since Amazon almost always lowers their prices to match competitors, it tends to be the best price. At the moment, Amazon Canada is matching Walmart, so all the Ghibli films are $19.96.
The Collected Works of Hayao Miyazaki (Amazon Exclusive) [Blu-ray] https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0117V8BX8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_oHsHzb43EGQ3W
I'm saving up to buy the ultimate set on amazon but ohhhh man it is gonna be annoying to sell one of my vital organs. These movies are magic and each one has a piece of my mind and soul. Did anyone hear Hayao is not actually retiring? :)
Here is the answer in documentary form.

Remember that one time when Lucas released THE ORIGINAL THEATRICAL VERSIONS ON DVD? Apparently fucking not, because everyone here is in love with their goddamn VHS versions.
You need this.
There's a Starting Strength DVD, it's Rippetoe training a bunch of beginners on all the main lifts, I'd pick that up if you've got some spare cash, it really helped me out - Amazon link
Why 5x5 when there are superior alternatives?
5x5 is basically bastardized version of Starting Strength. Medhi has turned that site into marketing spamfest.

>The methane won't be released directly into the atmosphere, it will burned as fuel.
BWAAAAHHHHHHAAAAAAHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAHA! Coming soon to an Earth near you:
All Life on Earth Extinguished by Warming of Deep Oceanbed Hydrates
by G.D. O'Shit
Date: April 1, 2014
WASHINGTON - Global warming took its final toll today. After melting the icecaps on both the north and south poles, global warming has gradually raised the temperatures of the deep oceanbed a full 1.5 degrees Celsius. This increased temperature has today finally "unlocked" millions of tons of deep ocean methane hydrates from its watery grave. Scientists had been working feverishly since 2009 to extract and burn off the hydrates gradually in order to avoid this catastrophe and generate enormous amounts of energy for consumer and commercial use in the process, but the work was started too late to make a difference due to the lack of funding and widespread public support. The situation was exacerbated by the accelerated pace of increasing solar luminosity due to an unexpected increase in sunspot activity which has dramatically increased the temperature of all planets in the solar system, including of course, Earth. In a sudden explosive outburst, the hydrates have sublimed back into the gaseous state, causing Tsunamis and ravaging the worlds coastal populations worldwide. The Earth's atmosphere has returned to a condition similar to that which existed before humans walked the Earth. The heavy concentration of methane gas in the atmosphere has made outdoor breathing impossible and has extinguished all human life on Earth except for a few of us living in pockets of uncontaminated air in caves and "Doomsday" vaults for VIPs. The increased concentration of methane in the air along with the existing oxygen has created a highly flammable mixture that we are watching carefully. We have banned outdoor smoking of cannabis and tobacco, but there is a distant thunderstorm brewing in the distance. Is that lightening? Oh NOOOOOOOO!!! The sky is burning, the sky is burning. Please don't take the sky away from me! Run for your ... <signal lost>
If you want for them not to be able to take the show from you, it can be purchased for under 20 bucks
Just some random things from my wishlist
Yup
You just need to find these versions of them on DVD. They all have the original Theatrical cut of the movies along with the "improved" Lucas versions. The original cuts are just transfers of the Laserdisc versions of the movies but that's the best available at the moment.
A New Hope
Empire Strikes Back
Return of the Jedi
Plus, these 2-Disc DVD's will feature a bonus disc that includes, for the first time ever on DVD, the original films as seen in theaters in 1977, 1980 and 1983.
> the Star Wars tape--is it of the original theatrical release?
With that box art, I'm almost certain it is. Didn't they finally relent and release the original theatrical release to DVD though?
ninja edit I just checked, and I guess you have to get it in a 2-disc set with the "enhanced" version. http://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Two-Disc-Widescreen-Theatrical/dp/B000FQJAIW
I have the original theatrical versions on DVD, it comes with both the "special" (shitty) version and the original on a second disc.
ex
They were included as bonus features in the limited edition 2 disc dvds. Here's the New Hope one:
https://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Episode-IV-Limited/dp/B000FQJAIW
You may be disappointed, the voice-over was only done when the studio thought no one would understand the movie at all. But give it a shot. I liked it only because it gave the feeling of an old detective movie from the Forties.
Edit: The 2007 Final Cut 5 disc set has all the different versions of the film on the third disc.
Blade Runner! The original five-disc collection is easily the best blu-ray I've ever purchased. There's a new 30th anniversary edition out, but I don't think it has all of the same bonus materials:
http://www.amazon.com/Five-Disc-Complete-Collectors-Edition-Blu-ray/dp/B000UBMWG4/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1376681534&sr=8-4&keywords=blade+runner+blu+ray
Blade Runner a very good transfer, and the cityscape scenes are stunning.
The ultimate mega collector's edition is very reasonably priced, and it contains no less than five different cuts of the movie, so even if you already have the film on DVD, maybe you can justify the extra to see the obscure and acclaimed "workprint version".
Get This edition. All five cuts. I got it for like $15 at best buy
There are a lot of good workout videos out there.
I'm currently doing the 30 Day Shred. I've also heard great things about Insanity and P90X, although those are well out of my price range.
I used to be really horrified by the prospect of running outside. I think I thought people would judge me for not running long enough, or being too jiggly or something. This summer though, I downloaded an app for Couch to 5K, put some music on my phone and just started going! For some reason, when I had something telling me exactly when to start and stop running, I felt WAY better about running in public.
Keep in mind that the most important part of losing weight is changing your diet! Good luck!
Agree with everyone has said, just wanted to post an amazon link to the dvd set that has the newer edits but comes with the original theatrical cuts just in case anyone was interested. Here
sorry... blu only. I think the reason why is because they had semi-recently released the DVD versionswhich are actually superior to this new BD version because it included the unaltered versions of all the original trilogy (meaning no extra/crowbarred CGI crap Lucas forced in).
I couldn't believe how much these DVD sets are going for now... I guess they're in high demand now because everyone is now realizing how much the BD is kinda screwing everyone over. I'm glad I got the DVDs when they were $15 each!!
Of course it does. It was the second bonus disc that came out a few years ago with the special edition set of the original trilogy. It's not gorgeous quality but it is a DVD version of the original completely unedited and unfooled with movies.
I think this is it but I got a much older boxed set.
If anyone's looking, there is a DVD boxset that contains the original theatrical editions of the trilogy.
It's common enough across media to have series/movie/game/book go out of circulation and have a fanbase which grows through piracy, so much that there is a tv trope for it.
I'd like to challenge rather that it is OK to do this with other media, assuming that it is no longer being produced and actual DVDs/books aren't being sold by retailers and the studio has folded/the author has died and cannot collect royalties. I challenge that this part of your post:
> video games disappear into oblivion and there is no way to find them without forking over triple the original price or risking getting conned big-time.
is not exclusive to video games. Just recently a friend of mine asked for his birthday, a copy of Star Wars that was not remastered or re-edited, where Han shot first and they didn't put in any new scenes. The only DVD version where that is true is being sold for almost $300 now and I got it 2 months ago when it was only $100. George Lucas didn't make a penny off that transaction.
I have an unaltered DVD trilogy I would sell you. It's this one PM me if you're interested.

The supplemental DVD is a really great resource, especially for people without a competent coach or friend to lend a set of eyes. He walks through every lift for ~30 minutes with a whole class of trainees - young, old, male, female, etc...
I have marks DVD starting strength, one of the guys he was training was going "ass to grass", mark told him it wasn't necessary to go that low, and corrected him.
edit:

after the guy finishes that rep rippetoe says
"Not quite so deep Jim, dont relax to get your depth.
We dont get depth at the expense of lumbar relaxation."
"if it gets excessive, its not necessary to go that deep because you're below parallel"
"everything needs to stay tight, we want you to get as deep as you can get, with a tight lumbar"
he says a bunch of other stuff... but you can just buy it and hear it for yourself.

its a real cheap dvd and its hella useful.
I'm not sure, but those prices seem insane. I bought the Blu Ray Extended edition of all 3 for like $30 total, and it has, I think, the exact same content as the 2003 boxes (which I still have).
This is what I have, and the amazon page has a comparison of various box sets. Looks like it confirms that the Blu Ray has the same content
This is the one I bought a few years ago on Prime day:
https://www.amazon.com/Lord-Rings-Fellowship-Extended-Editions/dp/B0026L7H20?_encoding=UTF8&%2AVersion%2A=1&%2Aentries%2A=0
Btw, they finally have a release date for the Extended Edition Blu-ray of the original trilogy. FINALLY.

Here's the US store link.
I can confirm it has everything except The Plan. (It doesn't have Blood and Chrome, but that is a prequel-type thing.)
I bought this and watched it all (for the first time) a few months ago. There were some questions about what players it would work on - all I know is it played fine on my PS3.
I saw some of the reviews commenting on transferring issues/quality issues... I never saw the original airing or the show on DVD, but I thought the quality on blu ray was good and had nothing to complain about.
It looks incredible but one warning, the miniseries and about the first half of the first season are grainy as hell in 1080p. There is even a RDM bit before watching the show saying that this is how it's supposed to look. It's not that bad but sometime during the first season they start toning down the film grain and then the show looks even better (to me). Just thought I'd warn you if you started watching and think there's something wrong.
Also here's a tip, the UK series release works in all regions and is only 40 bucks which is a third the price of the US release. Neither include The Plan so you'll have to get that seperatly if you want it.
Did you find an especially good deal? Just amazon? It's currently $54.00 for the entire series which is damned good, might just scoop that up (because I don't have Hulu.)
Thank you for this contest! :)
You look very nice today! The wind has made your hair in a messy tangle, yet it suits you perfectly!
My childhood is complete!

Good Lord, I feel you on this but with my dad. He went to West Point, worked on Atlas rockets, and has never lied to my knowledge. Never a hint of racism, nothing. He really takes the honor code seriously. And he's a Fox News watcher. How does he not see the hypocrisy? We've talked about it plenty. It blows me away.
Here's a great documentary about this.
I had this one on an Amazon list for Christmas a few years ago. I like it, watched all the movies and didn't notice anything missing. I'm pretty sure there was bonus content on the discs too, bonus scenes or outtakes.
I know it seems like it should cost more for 8 discs, but the cost of blu ray is coming down as digital becomes more popular.
See?!
I just got one. :3
[I've just looked at Amazon, the blu-ray is there for less than $75?](https://www.amazon.com/Lord-Rings-Fellowship-Extended-Editions/dp/B007ZQAKHU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1486779887&sr=8- 1&keywords=lotr+extended+edition+blu+ray) The DVDs would be even cheaper and that's not even counting used
I can't speak for Vallen, but I have that gold-box special edition blu-ray set and it's PACKED full of bonus content.

Amazon has the Marvel Phase 1 Set and Phase 2 Set
Ive got both of these.
The Phase 1 set is getting more and more difficult to come by hence the price. Both of them are pretty sweet though. They both come with replicas of S.H.I.E.L.D dossiers and trinkets from the movies like Scott Langs Basket Robbins name tag, an Avengers Patch, Steve Rogers medical files before and after he took the Super Soldier Serum.
Im sure a Phase 3 set is in the works eventually.

I am pretty certain these are what was originally broadcast on adult swim back in the day.
The Blu-ray set I have is an updated reissue of the remix dvds that look like this... or this...
I'm glad I'm not just crazy and am not the only one that this bothers. If you want the old broadcast versions, hunt down the first dvds I linked.
Even though I have the series on blu-ray, I will never get rid of those for this very reason. Also because it was the first anime on dvd I ever purchased (sentimental value, to the max).
edit- All these I listed are American releases.
Found it OP, thank me later.
Not for $389.99 CAD you wouldn't :P
Amazon is not as nice as you think. Stuff like this is clearly fake/pirated yet still for sale on there constantly.
Real official versions are way more expensive.

It's a little pricey but totally worth it. I personally bought them one by one as they came on sale, but if you want a collectors set that one works. Do note that it's only Miyazaki movies. Wish they had one for the whole studio...
I think the complete blu-ray collection of Hayao Miyazaki is the best Christmas present!

Price history here. As you can see, the $119.98 price they are showing in the strikethrough on the page is the highest the product has ever been listen on Amazon, which was all the way back in July 2012. It has spiked up a little bit since then but it has spent a lot of time at cheaper prices. Worth mentioning that the current price is the lowest price ever.
So the Amazon page is actually comparing the highest price ever to the lowest price ever
Nevermind, I thought OP linked the regular version.
This seems to be amazon's lowest price and what I bought it at last year.
Just FYI, it's over 50% off on Amazon right now.
Well this is interesting.
On my main list it is a gift card, but underneath that is an XBox 360 carrying case I need it because I take my xbox around a lot and only have an old gymbag to throw it in.
On my health list is Kettle Bells I used to use them at the gym a lot and really liked them, would like a set of my own someday
On my movie list is Thor: The Dark World because I love comics and the movie was fucking awesome. Plus, Chris Hemsworth is pretty much the only dude I would go gay for.
On my "Wishful Thinking" list is Marvel Phase One blu-ray collection because god dammit I love Marvel movies
And on the stuff for my kids list I do not have a highest priority item. Its just loaded with kids movies and crayons. They aren't all choosy like I am :p
SO.. what's the super secret contest?
The cube looks like the one that came with the avengers phase one set.
Looks like the Marvel Phase 1 Briefcase.
Just buy em, man, you won't regret it.
There are "Phase" packages for One and Two
One: https://www.amazon.com/Marvel-Cinematic-Universe-Assembled-Incredible/dp/B0083SBMGW
Two: https://www.amazon.com/Marvel-Cinematic-Universe-Guardians-Exclusive/dp/B00Z7EMJ4E
I don't know how these compare to just buying them but I don't see a reason not to.
For anyone wondering how much this costs, (Trailers like this conveniently leave out the price) it's $219.00 "list price" and 139 on Amazon.

I think the only DVD on my list is [Frozen] (http://www.amazon.com/Frozen-Two-Disc-Blu-ray-Digital-Copy/dp/B00G5G7K7O/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1395604253&sr=8-2&keywords=frozen) but if I add any other DVD's in the meantime, surprise me!
I love movies because...
They are such a great way to escape. I don't often have the time to devote to sitting down and watching a movie so these days it is a real treat. I really want [Frozen] (http://www.amazon.com/Frozen-Two-Disc-Blu-ray-Digital-Copy/dp/B00G5G7K7O/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pd_nS_nC?ie=UTF8&colid=1PRII2BIRNFS3&coliid=I2XGTWOY0IKDRY) for my girls. They haven't seen it yet. I have heard so many good things about it that and am planning a special party for it when it comes out. We have movie picnics where I spread a blanket on the floor and we have snacks and watch the movie together. Fun times. The second movie I have on my list is [The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug] (http://www.amazon.com/registry/wishlist/1PRII2BIRNFS3/ref=cm_wl_sb_o?reveal=unpurchased&filter=all&sort=date-added&layout=standard&x=15&y=12) which is also not out yet and is one I also haven't seen. My husband and I looove Tolkien. All our kids have two middle names and they all have one name inspired by Tolkien. One of my son's middle names is Thorin!
Yay Movies! I would totally love to own Frozen so I can watch it with my daughter. She loves princesses and she hasn't seen this yet. We have watched youtube clips of it and listened to the music and she has been begging me to see it and I want to see it badly as well. :) Thanks for the contest! I love movies because...

This is my all time favorite Disney movie!
I love the scene when Olaf gets impaled and says..... "oh look, i've been impaled. Hehah"
also when he says, "Hi! my name's Olaf and I like warm hugs!"
Olaf is my favorite part of that movie.
well, that and the fact that

When anna saves elsa instead of going for the usual disney ending of true loves kiss. I was so happy when they portrayed the act of true love as her saving her sister. It was so touching and heart warming.
It made me think about why I joined the army and how my love for my own sister and other family was a big part of my reason to join. it was great.
My favorite song is hakunnah matata. it helps me destress. sometimes i catch myself saying it around annoying people at home and work.
I have never bought an anime before, so I have a question: I'm planing to buy Steinsgate: Complete Series Classic, but does this come with Japanese voice acting with English sub as well as dubbing? Also, does anyone know where I can get the movie version that doesn't cost like $70?
English is not my primary language so sorry for the grammars. And thanks!
Yep, and i can't wait for complete release of Steins;Gate next month =P

At 32 dollars for the combined Blu-ray/DVD set, not too bad, huh?
I'm really late replying but I hope still useful! I looked at the series you mentioned your giftee liking and used my knowledge of anime to go on Amazon and pick out 10 other series or movies they might also like, along with why I think these might be a good option. Your person seems to really like edgy and highly dramatic pieces with a scifi or fantasy flair. That's been my favorite for 15 years! A lot of these are a bit older; I am taking the gamble that with as many newer pieces listed, your person hasn't watched a lot of backlog, and therefore may have missed some really good shit.
Ghost in the Shell is a cyberpunk classic. Older, yes, but for anyone who likes drama and scifi, this is a good choice. It focuses on a classic mind experiment: if you can move your brain freely among cybernetic parts and bodies, what is really "you"?
Steins;Gate is what instantly springs to mind for someone who also likes Psycho Pass. And I mean instantly. Fans of one almost invariably love the other. A tightly-plotted time travel thriller.
Revolutionary Girl Utena is a bit older, often controversial, and an absolute work of art. There's a strong chance your giftee is a girl based on the other series they like, but even if not, Utena is still a solid choice. Just be careful on this; sending it to a conservative person could backfire badly. I rather doubt that is the case with Attack on Titan and Shiki, but just to be safe. It's strange and beautiful...and stylish beyond all doubt.
Black Lagoon is anime's answer to a Hollywood big budget action movie. Comedic, violent, and unforgettable, it deserves a far wider audience than it's had. Almost every anime fan I know who's seen it has loved it.
Akira is without a doubt one of the most famous anime movies to ever be created. Animated without CG in the 1980s, the quality of its hand-drawn special effects has yet to be equalled by almost any other production to this day. For someone used to today's slick computer assisted animation, it's still mindblowing. Akira is often credited with being just as important as Pokemon and Dragon Ball Z and Sailor Moon in starting the anime boom of the 1990s, and this is a very nice edition.
Also in the classic scifi category we have Serial Experiments Lain, a show whose points on technology and the internet and the singularity still ring true today. Moody and thought-provoking with masterful use of color and a fantastic soundtrack.
Literally no adult-targeted anime is as famous and well-beloved as Cowboy Bebop. This space western with the jazz soundtrack is a perennial favorite on Cartoon Network Adult Swim, is often suspected as a major influence behind Firefly, and is one of the most popular anime in the US of all time... And it's hitting bluray this month.
Summer Wars should probably come with a bluray device as a tech test. It's that beautiful. A tale of virtual reality and the family and friends behind the characters, Summer Wars is an unforgettable movie which, despite being intensely Japanese, deserves a slot on any videophile's shelf.
My total wildcard pick is Mushishi. Beautiful and dream-like, like a series of 25 minute oases from ordinary life. If this is in fact a slice of life, these timeless Japanese almost fairy tales are like no life you've seen. Some call it slow and overhyped. I call it perfection. At any rate, this isn't at all what I'd get as an only gift; it's more a wildcard filler for a $20 other series. If you want my actual top pick.....
Baccano! is my final and top pick. It's really hard to go wrong with this. This rollicking action anime about immortal Prohibition-era Mafiosi in the United States is one of the best and most underrated anime of all time. Humor, violent action, mystery, drama, good characters, good animation, good music... It has them all. It's chronically overshadowed by its more popular sister series Durarara, and that makes me sad. But Durarara isn't easily available outside streaming, and this glorious madcap piece of anime is. Plus it has at least one theme in common with everything your person listed liking. You know what to do.
it's dubbed, and dubbed really well (though you can watch it in the original japanese w/english subtitles). the first 3 or 4 episodes are kinda slow, but it really picks up after that. like i said, i don't find (most) anime appealing, but cowboy bebop is one of my favorite things ever.
you can pick up the complete series on blu-ray for 30$.
In general, RightStuf has some nice deals, or you could try Amazon.
More specifically, here's Bebop for $30. Can't find Blu-Rays of Gankutsuou, but here's a DVD set. Summer Wars is here. Try this for Black Lagoon, but there's also a collector's edition here. Evangelion 2.22 here. Haruhi here, but as a pre-order and at an absurd price.
I can only find Madoka, Perfect Blue, Baccano, Code Geass, and Fate/Zero at prices you probably don't want to pay.
Desktop link for the lazy.
Hey everyone! If you love the show please check out /r/cowboybebop and join us in the conversation. We're constantly discovering new things about this amazing anime.
And if you're not aware, a blu ray version of the show was recently released. The perfect Christmas present for the Cowboy Bebop fan in your life.

I know there's a Blu-ray set exclusive to Amazon, but there's also a single-case, multi-disc DVD set.
Based on the movies inside (and the drawing on the exterior), that seems to be the Hayao Miyazaki Directed Works Collection (or, in Japanese, 宮崎駿監督作品集). You could use google translate on the description in the amazon.jp entry for it or the page for the similar North American release to figure out how to describe it, but it looks like it has a disc for every Miyazaki film from Castle of Cagliostro through to The Wind Arises, with two bonus discs.
I don't know where is best to sell it (I'm not from North America, so I really have no good input here).

It's a touch expensive but you look at the price for buying all 8 of these movies on BluRay individually, and it's cheaper in the long run. I pre-ordered it, but if you're patient you can catch a good deal on it. A few weeks after it came out it was down to $199.

I have a few references for you to look at.
First of all, check out The Magic of Reality, it's Dawkins' new book, aimed at the younger set and is way cool.
Secondly, definitely watch Cosmos! I think that has the kind of appeal and general sense of wonder that you're looking to express. It is widely available for free should you know where to look. The library, for example.
As a science-oriented young girl, I liked Zoom! a lot. That's going to be a little harder to find, but it was really, really cool.
I wish you a lot of luck! I will ask my mother (a 3rd, 4th, and now 1st grade teacher) what her kids find the most engaging for science workshops. If you are anywhere near the NYC area, the Liberty Science Center would be a great hands-on resource.
Cosmos. It's a disgrace that the price is prohibitive though.

The 2006 2-disc individual releases have the 1993 laserdisc master dumped on the second disc. It's not great quality (and is awkward as fuck for 16:9 TVs), but it's the originals. They're also included on the 6-disc slim OT box set (don't ask me why Amazon's price is so outrageous on that one, I see it in stores for $30 all the time).
If you want better quality, download Harmy's Despecialized Editions. They're 720p HD restorations of the original versions from the Blu-Rays, the 2006 DVDs I mentioned above, and actual 35mm film scans (among other sources). PM me if you're interested and I'll tell you where you can get them.

Return of the Jedi
The discs you're looking for are these: A New Hope, Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi. That's the box design for the release that includes the "Original Theatrical Version" of the films. The original cut has never been released on Blu-Ray.
Unfortunately, they're lower quality than the 2004 Special Edition versions they're packaged with, and especially lower quality than the Blu-Ray releases of the 2004 Special Editions.

As far as giveaways go, there are plenty of directions to take that. I went to a screening of The Force Awakens and they sold raffle tickets for a chance to win one of several gift bags. The good thing is, there's a ton of Star Wars merchandise so chances are that you will be able to find just about any item to fit your price range and employee demographics. Here are a few ideas.

Moderately Priced:
Reasonably Priced:
Edit: If you really want to impress your hardcore fan employees, have the limited editions of A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi as a giveaway. Those specific releases of the film contain a bonus disc that has the last time that the original theatrical cuts of the films were released. Most releases of the films since '97 have had various changes made to them that some really hardcore fans dislike, so copies of the theatrical cut are highly sought after by certain fans.
Couple hundred bucks? Here's the used ANH dvd for 22 bucks:

There is actually a DVD copy of the films in their original form. The DVD comes with two discs and one is the special edition and the other is the original release. Here is the one I bought. I found it at a local used movie store and got it for $3
I have the theatrical versions of the original trilogy on DVD. They are still available for sale on Amazon and sometimes eBay. They will cost more than the average DVD, but are well worth it.
Episode IV on Amazon
Episode V on Amazon
Episode VI on Amazon
I will warn you, [it might be a little expensive. ] ( http://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Two-Disc-Widescreen-Theatrical/dp/B000FQJAIW )
Not impossible expensive, but a little higher priced.
Here’s a direct link to Episode IV, Episode VI, and Episode VII.
Enjoy.

Anything made in Oregon. This is a bit of a stretch but bear with me. The Bourne Triology preceeds The Bournce Legacy. Which starred Edward Norton who also starred in Fight Club. A movie based off the book who was written by none other than Chuck Palahniuk who is from Oregon & resides there.
I'll be back to finish this!
fear cuts deeper than swords
I'm assuming that OP means the original (non-special edition) theatrical version.
There was a box set released a few years ago which had the original version on DVD. Amazon link.
Now the problem is that the DVD transfer wasn't very good quality. If you want to go down the rabbit hole regarding the quality issue, do a google search for the "despecialized edition."
If you do want to check out the films for yourself, start with A New Hope but I recommend to look for the so called "limited edition" on dvd.
Like this one here, but don't order it off of Amazon. Just get it from a local movie trading store, you can call them and ask if they have a limited editon in stock. (My local store sold Empire Strikes Back limited for $17)
It's a long story but the director, George Lucas, messed with the original theatrical versions with crappy CGI edits. It's a nitpick with some scenes, but others are ruined by the updated scenes. That's why alot of people don't recommend watching any new version of the original trilogy until the un-edited version is finally released. (Disney, get to work on it!)
And by watching the original, you mean (for the new consumer):
Purchase the DVD versions with the bonus discs, as the bonus discs are the closest to the original movie prints that exist on commercial DVD.
* Edit: These versions:
http://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Episode-IV-Widescreen/dp/B000FQJAIW/
http://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Episode-Versions-Widescreen/dp/B000FQJAJG/
http://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Episode-VI-Widescreen/dp/B000FQVX78/
It was made in color. I couldn't imagine Star Wars being what it is if it was made in B&W. They do sell versions of the old and new versions. Just found this on amazon Star Wars. So shouldn't be too hard to find a torrent version I'm guessing.
There are no licensed bluray releases of the true original films. They are available on dvd though as bonus discs of the Limited Editions. https://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Episode-IV-Limited/dp/B000FQJAIW And a little loophole is that if the Limited Edition is the full screen version then the bonus disc original films will still be widescreen. There are apparently still some very minor changes to the original films like a couple random sound effects but I've never gone through and picked them out. Although I dont suppose it matters since there's apparently nothing to compare it to other than the original 35mm print. Apparently no home video was ever released of the original films as they 100% exactly appeared in the theater. So the story goes.
As for the bluray Special Editions of the original trilogy episodes 4-6 I actually prefer Empire Strikes Back in the Special Edition. Every single change I think adds to the story and is very well done. Episodes 4 and 6 special editions are basically pure garbage. Episode 4 has a reincorporated deleted scene which is interesting but very badly done although I think they did the best possible job. As a star wars fanatic I think the only thing worthwhile in the episode 4 special edition is that its now the first appearance of Boba Fett although just a cameo. Not that he ever has much more than that anyway.
And I could've swore there are actually technically two editions with added scenes. I swear I saw in the theater A New Hope that was just the THX Remastered Edition which still had one new shot of a few X-Wing Fighters approaching a planet and also put the rings around the explosions of Alderan and the Death Star. I can't find any reference to this though but I swear I saw it in Dallas at Northpark in 1995
I found these editions for $12 at the local DVD exchange store just a few months ago. The bonus disc has the theatrical editions, and while I've seen some complaints about the quality, I had no problems with it. I was really pleased to show my younger sister the original versions for her first time watching them.
This dvd version of episode IV (and the matching V and VI) contain the only released dvd versions of the original theatrical release of the trilogy (full screen releases too). Naturally, copies of these versions go quite a lot of money because of this.
A while ago the movies were released as 2 disc special editions, one with the newest "remastering" and one with the original theatrical release on it.
Here is one of the amazon links, they run for $40+ now
The (first? this version.) dvd release included the unedited versions. it's a shame it's expensive now.
Not alone - but they were included in this series. Unfortunately they're letterboxed in a 4x3 frame, which sucks eggs … but that's what was on the LaserDiscs too.
The original cuts no longer exist on (usable) film - the "improvements" were cut straight into the camera negatives, and what original prints are left are too beat-up to use for video.
One more reason to go hate-watch "Strange Magic" this weekend. (It's a George Lucas pet project, and it's getting horrendous reviews.)
It's not well known but this specific version of the movies:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000FQJAIW/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?qid=1427746186&sr=8-3&keywords=star+wars+episode+4&dpPl=1&dpID=51u3YmzYxNL&ref=plSrch&pi=AC_SY200_QL40
Has the original versions included on the 2nd disc as a "bonus feature"
Well worth the price, especially if you can find it used somewhere.
Edit: I'd still love to see the original unmolested versions of episodes 4-6 remastered on blu-ray
I wanted to watch this again before seeing 2049. It's been years and I wasn't sure which version(s) I've seen - so I checked my local library system and amazingly they had the 5-disc Collector's Blu Ray. I only watched the "Final Cut" version but it was better than I remember.
I bought this collection a couple years ago: http://www.amazon.com/Five-Disc-Complete-Collectors-Edition-Blu-ray/dp/B000UBMWG4
Back in 2009, I got that exact five disc set, except it was the Blu Ray, for $20 after shipping from Amazon. True story.
The giraffe has no vocal cords and communicates by vibrating the air around it’s neck.
It's too quiet in here!
Dis would make me happy, but if shipping puts it over $10, a gift card would be nice so I can add it to my tv fund. Thanks for the contest! :)
Jillian Michaels' 30 Day Shred
And the X Stretch DVD from my husband's P90x program.
Once I'm done with the full 3 levels in 30 DS, I'm aiming to start Power 90 program, which is a precursor to full insanity of P90x.
No worries. I suggest putting your My Fitness Pal Goals at 'sedentary' and 'lose 1/2 pound a week' and then not eating the calories you earn exercising. You do have to be meticulous in your calorie tracking though! Expect to tweak your diet a lot - some people do better just having a cup of tea for breakfast, some people do better eating their biggest meal in the morning; just keep trying until you find a way that works for you. Some people love keto, but I love toast so that doesn't do it for me (though I envy their big losses!).
30 Day Shred is really good IMO. I found the jumping and running on the spot a bit hard on my knees so I swapped it for pretend running where you don't take your toes off the ground. Have a look at pilates or yoga for flexibility and balance.
Take before pics in short and a tee or jeans and a top and then take them again in a month wearing exactly the same outfit. Take measurements too.
It doesn't snow here (it barely gets cold!) so I have no idea how to function in it! More jumpers!? Build snowmen?
Okay, firstly I have to echo the poster who advised against using buzzwords. It's annoying. I still read the post, but I think some people might click off after realising this.
That being said, when I first got into health and fitness, I read a LOT, tried a lot, tried the couch to 5K, silly fad diets - everything.
The single biggest exercise thing that helped me was actually exercise DVDs. It took me forever to find some that I could stand doing and that I kept up with. Some aren't motivating, other bored me, some were too long and the rest were just a chore. The only one I stuck with was Jillian Micheal's 30 day Shred.
From this, I then bought her Yoga DVD, a cardio one, some more advanced ones of hers - they're amazing.
If you want something that's fast and motivating and gets you into exercise, I totally recommend them. In the 30 Day Shred there's 3 workouts, each is just 20 minutes long. You do one for ten days, then move onto the next, then after another 10 days move on again to the next. As they're only 20 minutes, you can totally fir them in, and the only thing you need is some hand weights (2 cans of beans will do the trick) and a mat if you don't have carpet. She kicks your ass, but you get a lot out of them as well.
So yeah - if you watch your diet (try not to emotionally eat and drink a lot of water throughout the day) and try getting into exercise (honestly, I can't sing this DVD's praises enough), you'll get on top of things in no time.
Well first I hope you have the happiest of birthdays :) 28 is going to be a super awesome year for you.
My favorite birthday was hands down my 21st. My mom convinced my dad to let her use their Am Ex points and she flew us three and a friend of mine to Chicago for 5 days and paid for everything for us and got us tickets to Lollapalooza. I'm super big into music and that was just so so so amazing and we had so much fun! The day of my bday I was having a crap morning and she called cheered me up and was like oh "I put a little Happy Bday money in your account" yeahhhh I checked my acct $2100 I legit started screaming in Panara haha. For reference my bday was in June and Lolla was in Aug.

Happy Birthday
Every other day is good. The minimum you can get away with is 3 runs a week, maybe 4 if you aren't doing some kind of aerobic crosstraining.
Dumbbells and a bench are fodder for folks over in r/fitness. A strength routine isn't going to hurt you at all, but I'm oldschool and would recommend a cardio based workout on your off days. This can be something like a workout dvd or something outside like biking or swimming. Don't knock Jillian, btw, her workouts are excellent and I can hardly do them...
Also, definitely plan on one or two days completely off; your body needs a day or two to recover.
First things first, if you have any unhealthy snacks at home, get rid of them. You can easily replace them with better choices. For a quick snack for me, I usually go for a handful of carrots, a medium sized apple (goes good with peanut butter), a low cal greek yogurt, or a banana. All of these will keep you full for a good few hours.
I don't have much time for fitness but if you're able to get at least 30 minutes a day, you should be good to go. I use a workout DVD at home that's only about 26 minutes and it's high intensity so I still burn 150-200 calories when I finish it and I have plenty of time left for homework.
I'll recommend this because I lost 10 pounds using it:
https://www.amazon.com/Jillian-Michaels-30-Day-Shred/dp/B00127RAJY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1487117838&sr=8-1&keywords=30+day+shred
Yup, it's killer. Even level 1 left me drenched in sweat and sore for a day or two, in spite of the fact that I jog quite a bit.
It's definitely a video for which you need a lot of open space. And it probably won't work if you live in an apartment with people underneath you because it involves lots of jumping jacks.
Here's the link, by the way
Use the extra 5 I would get and get /u/CrimsonJella this from this wish list because fitness :D
Here you go! Definitely one of my better recent purchases.
This DVD, which I have been assured will make me hate my life. is what I most want.
Why?
Well, I am trying very, very hard to get back into shape. Due to a combination of laziness and a thyroid tumor (that supposedly will be handled at some point, if my doctors ever stop sucking) I have put on a lot of weight over the past few months.
By a lot, I mean, most of my clothes no longer fit (I have two wearable pairs of jeans, for example, and they are recent acquisitions), I'm constantly sore all over, and my self-confidence has plummeted hardcore. A couple of months ago, I told myself I would do whatever it takes, and decided to go back to exercising and eating healthier.
Eating healthier has stopped the upward movement on my weight gain-- I'm at least hovering steady, and haven't had to get any more larger clothing. Woo. But exercise is the problem. For the past couple of weeks I've been doing yoga, which has begun preparing me for this... working out thing. I have motivation from a friendboy who is pushing me to work out and get myself healthy again. But beyond the yoga and running my dog, I don't have much in the way of exercise stuff.
I'm terrible at making my own routines (I have two yoga DVDs that I go back and forth on); and I really don't like going to the gym (plus I'd have to get a membership). So exercise DVDs, especially those two that are spoken so highly of, are ideal for me-- I can do what I'm told and follow those instructions like a good mindless robot. :) Sadly, at least the 30 day shred one requires dumbbells for part of it, so those are extremely high on my list too.
It doesn't hurt than I've been under orders from both my medical and psychiatric doctors to do regular exercise-- this is why they are the highest priority for me.
Uh... that's what I got.
No, you are actually quite wrong.
http://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Trilogy-Harrison-Ford/dp/B001EN71DG/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1313528922&sr=8-5
See that? It comes with both versions. There are DVD versions of the originals. I don't know what in the world would make you think there wasn't.
http://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Trilogy-Harrison-Ford/dp/B001EN71DG
This has the original versions (in 4:3 with letterbox) as they were shown in '77, '80, and '83 as well as the new ones (in anamorphic widescreen) - not sure if they have the Hayden Christenson bullshit, though.
They released the original, unaltered trilogy on DVD. Did it kind of under the radar, but there you go.
Each of the 3 original theatrical movies are included as bonus discs, the only bummer is that they're letterboxed instead of being presented in anamorphic widescreen. Ah well, better than nothin', eh?
They made a dvd set which had the original trilogy unedited on the 2nd DVD. I have them, and would guess you can find them somewhere. Of course, a blu-ray version would be nice.
http://www.amazon.com/Star-Trilogy-Widescreen-Theatrical-Edition/dp/B001EN71DG
You can get the theatrical cut of Star Wars on DVD.
This set, which you can find in many retailers pretty easily, has the "original theatrical cut" on the second "Bonus Features" disc. It's just the Laserdisc version droped on a DVD, but it looks better than any VHS.
This set (although I don't remember it being quite so expensive) has both the altered and original versions.
I agree with this...but they are not hard to find. This collection has both:
Amazon
They just aren't the best quality because they are non-anamorphic transfers from the Laser Discs. Still better than watching the special edition though.
The unaltered versions were released on DVD, packaged with the remasters about 5 years ago.
The idea that the originals don't exist in a modern format is a complete myth.
Edit: I'd like to point out that this comment thread was started with people pointing out that how good the film looks isn't as important as the story, acting, etc, and everyone who's responding negatively to the DVD release is claiming that it's bad because it doesn't look good enough, which is also bullshit, by the way. And how the fuck is that George Lucas's fault, anyway?
People love to hate, and even when their EXACT request is met, it's never good enough. If you, reading this right now, genuinely still care about this, go fuck yourself. You're an idiot. It never mattered in the first place. It's not going to start mattering just because you complain endlessly about how bad the world is because an okay film from 40 years ago doesn't conform to your TVs aspect ratio. Jesus, the Star Wars "fan"base is just the worst.
http://www.amazon.com/Star-Trilogy-Widescreen-Theatrical-Edition/dp/B001EN71DG/ref=sr_1_17?ie=UTF8&qid=1346868564&sr=8-17&keywords=star+wars+6+disc
Look for that box. It has six discs, three are for the Special Editions, and three have the Original Theatrical releases. As far as I know, it's the only DVD set to have all three movies.
George, in his typical money-grubbing fashion, decided to stop producing anything with the theatrical releases right before he released the BluRay versions. The sad thing is, that even the BluRays do not have the theatrical releases, even with all of the special features that they loaded on them.
Prick.
This
I think I got it for around $50 at Best Buy, but this was a few years ago.
I purchased the my set of the trilogy on DVD last year. It was new, from one of the sellers on Amazon.
Quick search on amazon shows this, which is the theatrical version:
http://www.amazon.com/Star-Trilogy-Widescreen-Theatrical-Edition/dp/B001EN71DG/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1347293190&sr=8-4&keywords=star+wars+original+trilogy
(check out the top review for clarification on that fact)
You don't have to spend quite that much though, I'm pretty sure. I paid a little over $100 for mine last year, so probably you could get a lower price with a little more searching.
Yes. A few years ago Lucas released a widescreen limited edition with updated graphics for all of the rereleases. Blarg. The hidden gem that wasnt all that advertised was a second disc in each dvd case that has the original theatrical release with no additions. They are brilliant. They are the only versions that I watch now. They are well worth whatever the cost if you can find them.
As an edit aside, the only downside is that the original versions are all 4:3 Aspect Ratio. Still better than anything else that has been released.
Here is a link to the boxed set, but apparently you can find the individual discs for cheaper occasionally.
Awesome. I pay $30/month. Which is kinda lame, but they're 24 hour so it suits my fucked up schedule a little better than any of the other options.
If you ever get into lifting, send me your address. I'll send you a copy of this DVD.
Lou Schuler has a youtube channel with some form videos, but not a lot of useful cues, so I didn't find those particularly illuminating. Starting Strength, the book, has a lot of awesome discussion of body mechanics and proper form for the main exercises, which I would be most worried about for getting proper form; if you're more of a visual learner, there's a dvd that goes with it. And here's a youtube playlist for some of the most common exercises. Most of these people are well respected fitness professionals, with blogs and youtube channels that are worth following.
For form, I also wouldn't worry too much about some of the smaller, isolation exercises. Do your best to follow the directions in the book. Make sure you do a good job on the compound movements though, especially as you up your weight.
Deadlifts:
1] You look really loose at the start of each rep. The one thing I can think of that might help your back position is at the start of each rep to really squeeze through your chest. Rippetoe gives a fairly good explanation of this:
If you enjoy that video and haven't already, grab a copy of Rippetoe's DVD which this is stolen from. It's fantastic and has a couple really hot girls in it. Which is a metric for the quality of every product from a man's point of view:
Squats:
1] On those reps (especially the third) it looked like you were leaning too far forward, which was causing you to not balance correctly. Also, your knees buckled in a bit as a result (or maybe that caused it). I'm not sure what the proper solution is but if I were in your shoes I'd try getting my butt out more, really focusing on maintaining a natural arch in my back and spreading my knees out as I squat.
That being said, the camera angle might skew the accuracy of my assessment.
2] Definitely not deep enough. I have a mate who squats exactly like you. He complains that deep squats hurt his knees yet every time he focuses on spreading his knees out rather than moving them forward and back he gets to parallel without hassles. Plus I don't call him names.
3] On your final 2 reps, you'll notice your butt starts to rise before your chest/shoulders. This is bad as it causes some pretty unworkable angles in your back that can really fuck you out of a heavy set. I can't really give any sound advice on fixing this but being aware of it will hopefully help you fix it.
First off, welcome! :)
There is already a ton of good info in the links, and other's posts, but I want to emphasize, as you've mentioned:
Starting Strength, the book, and Starting Strength, the DVD.
The book does a better job than any other program I've seen in explaining exactly what to do, and how to do it. The DVD shows you what good form looks like.
Sure, you can get both from links and YouTube, but as far as I'm concerned, this is some of the best possible money spent, in terms of return on investment. You'll get a good beginner's program, and you'll see exactly what the motions are you need to do.
A good trainer is a big plus, no doubt. The problem is finding a good trainer, and not one that will just try and push hard for you to do a 30-minute circuit and call it a day. And this really is a problem. It took me months upon months to finally find the guys I wanted to train with. The amount of bull pushed in the fitness world is astounding.
My advice for supplements (beyond a basic multi, fish oil, & D) is simple: For your first year of training, ignore them.
First comes form, technique, and newbie gains. That will fill out an entire year. There's enough to learn that you won't get bored. Honest. :)
Eat however you enjoy most that gets you the daily calories/macros you need. Timing details are when you're searching for the last half a percent of gain. Right now is not the time for that. Right now is time to bask in your newbgains and nail down the basics, because the rapid progress a beginner makes is an awesome feeling!

There's also a book and movie to accompany this wiki-

If you can spare $20, http://www.amazon.com/Starting-Strength-Basic-Barbell-Training/dp/0982522738/ is essential reading. There's also a companion DVD at http://www.amazon.com/Starting-Strength-Basic-Barbell-Training/dp/B001U9FDP2/ but YouTube videos work nearly as well.
I got a great deal on Amazon. I love them, although the physical DVD boxset looks better than the normal plastic case the BluRays come in.
https://www.amazon.com/Lord-Rings-Fellowship-Extended-Editions/dp/B0026L7H20
To put it simply, yes. The blu-ray trilogy extended version is only $50 bucks from amazon.com.
edit: here's the link. I own it myself, great investment. It also has the most bonus features/footage out of any of the releases.
... Why is the Blu-ray set cheaper?
I picked up the LOTR Extended Editions Blu Ray for $57 from Amazon. 15 discs with 26 hours of special features should occupy me pretty well over the winter break.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0026L7H20?pc_redir=1410062889&robot_redir=1 it's $70 with Amazon Prime plus you get plenty of extra features, according to the reviews. I always go for the cheapest options since blu ray movies have the same quality unless they have been specially treated.
No release date on Amazon, but it's priced at $83.99. Link I wonder how long that is going to last. If you pre-order it now they'll give you whatever the cheapest price is from when you pre-order to the day it comes out which is pretty sweet. I hate how they tease us like this though!
dees juan
Nope, these are like 70-80 bucks. If you do fling the blu-ray box set for 20 dollars you should be buying them up and selling at 40 online.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0026L7H20/ref=mp_s_a_1?qid=1347989933&sr=8-3
This box set has it: http://www.amazon.com/Battlestar-Galactica-Edward-James-Olmos/dp/B0027UY8B8/
I got this exact set last December from the same link for £24. It has everything but The Plan. Still a really good deal right now.
edit: this one from the US store is only $59.99
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0027UY8B8/
http://amazon.com/Battlestar-Galactica-Edward-James-Olmos/dp/B0027UY8B8/ref=tmm_blu_title_2?_encoding=UTF8&sr=1-1&qid=1412529396
Seems it has gone up by a couple bucks and is now $61.
Battlestar Galactica (reimagined series) is on Hulu USA at the moment. I'd summarize it as LIKE enterprise - as in trying to be more realistic - but it goes way more back, generally, in tech but it still has some really high tech as well.
It's the best piece of cinema and acting I've ever seen.
Make sure you see the remastered 16x9 version and if you like that, pick up the blu rays for cheap
https://www.amazon.com/Battlestar-Galactica-Complete-Blu-ray-Packaging/dp/B0027UY8B8 (region free)
The USA version may not be the remastered 16x9 version, plus, it's 3x the cost.
I purchased this set for my first watch of the series: Amazon Link. No issues with compatibility that I experienced; good quality.
It's got the mini-series, the complete series including extended versions of some episodes, and Razor. It's missing The Plan, but I think this box set is a pretty good value - it's really decently priced compare to other box sets.

uhm, FYI, at least in the US, the Bluray boxset is now only $65!!!
20 left in stock at time of posting this (10:45PM EST, Sept 4)
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0027UY8B8/
If you really want to buy it, you can get the dvd set on amazon.
From left to right the characters are Enzo, Mouse, Bob, Dot, Megabyte, and Hexadecimal.
This is on my wishlist on Amazon. Will be buying it soon. :)
If you've never seen season 3 (and to a lesser extent, 4), you must! It gets really awesome. The series is available at Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/ReBoot-Definitive-Mainframe-Kathleen-Barr/dp/B004Q7BF5M
Reboot was my childhood defining show. I've been a reboot fan forever I've met the creators and got them to sign an artbook. I even road the Imax Reboot Ride (which was awesome) and I just ordered the boxset off Amazon. http://www.amazon.com/ReBoot-Definitive-Mainframe-Kathleen-Barr/dp/B004Q7BF5M
http://www.amazon.com/ReBoot-The-Definitive-Mainframe-Edition/dp/B004Q7BF5M/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1333823477&sr=8-1
It’s also available on DVD.
The definitive edition (all 4 seasons) can be purchased directly through amazon. I think in the end it's $5 more than the cost directly from Shout! factory, but amazon will give you free shipping where Shout! will charge you $20.
http://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B004Q7BF5M/ref=s9_simh_gw_p74_d12_g74_i3?pf_rd_m=A3DWYIK6Y9EEQB&pf_rd_s=center-2&pf_rd_r=0QCTP49JCBVD4R9DEQQE&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=463383511&pf_rd_i=915398
Unfortunately the masters that Rainmaker sent to Shout! for production weren't the best copies available and some of the episodes suffer from major audio issues, and some jagging on the visuals.
At the moment, I believe this is the best (and cheapest!) collector's set. The American box set only has the movie disks, no bonus disks.
>Honestly, I'd love to see a documentary about how fox news changed the landscape and the effect it had on its viewership. I remember with my dad how quickly his mentality warped from their fear mongering.
So you want this?

Enjoy your bubble where it's you vs the world and you live in fear outside of generally accepted reality.
Keep being afraid of immigrants! More fear you have, the easier you are to manipulate. Why diversify or supplement your sources? What kind of asshole asks you to do that?
This doc is appropriate to this conversation.
Oh, if only there were some way to purchase these movies and keep them forever, without depending on Netflix to renew streaming rights.
I have this one. It's got some bonus features and content and it's a decent price.
Best option?
A blu-ray player
Amazon had a deal on this on cyber Monday for $99, so I pounced. I had been waiting awhile to get a box set because I wanted a Blu-Ray one, but I didn't want that $700 one with all that other crap, and I didn't want the $39 one without any special features.
I almost missed this one because when I read the comments and reviews, they all said "No special editions" so I dismissed it. Then I found they had lumped the reviews for the $39 one in with this sale item, and then took the plunge.
You can still purchase this particular box for $150 on Amazon, but if you're curious what it looks like or includes, check the album. Enjoy!
Me time.
My SO and I would first, go to the dog park together. Protect the car seats and make sure to bring the tennis ball launcher to tire out both pups. Also, here are the tennis balls.
Light this delicious, romantic Woodwick candle. Mood lighting/smells.
Make some homemade pizzas. From scratch, using ingredients out of these canisters and you have to make the pizza together. Sharing rolling and flouring duties. Possibly throw flower. Music should be playing in background, like this Momford & Sons album. Perhaps we'd even bake cookies together.
While pizza is baking, bust out Scrabble or Twister, whichever fits your style. Include drinks.
After getting significantly tipsy, watch movies together, Possibly a few Harry Potter movies.
Read books together. I'd read this new one by J.K. Rowling. Go to bed really late after doing some "adult things" together. Sleep on these warm sheets.
Thanks for the contest. I'm actually single, but this is a future, a-girl-can-dram plan for myself. ;)
I'm pretty sure this is the only one that has bluray other than the 32 disc boxset.

Harry Potter: Complete 8-Film Collection [Blu-ray] https://www.amazon.com/dp/B005OCFHHK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_H2.3DbYCVEY6V
Honestly I think they are cheaper on Amazon than they have been in a while. When I first started thinking about upgrading my old dvds to blurays, I couldn't find a set below $80. I bought them recently on Amazon UK for about $45. They are region-free, so they should work in any bluray player and shipping to the US was only a couple extra bucks. Took a couple weeks to get to me though. Good luck on your search!
I nominate my mom! She loves watching movies with our family and since she's never seen any of the Harry Potter films, I figure this would be a good gift for her, and by extension, my entire family :) My mom is SUPER because she sacrificed her dreams of being a lawyer to be a stay at home mom and care for me and my siblings. I don't think she truly knows how much we appreciate her always being there for us.
Edit: And if that's too expensive, I know she'd like this or that.
Harry Potter, the complete set! Oh my goodness!
Tickle his pickle is bad advice because it often leads to a craving for pickles, even if you never liked pickles in the first place!

Why not buy the Bluray set for $28
Like others said, Amazon, but if you don't want to pay full price, I suggest tracking it with CamelCamelCamel.

One of the greatest movie franchises in existence. I have the extended edition box set and it's super nice.
Bruh.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B007ZQAKHU/
I got it for $27 at the time, new. ;)
Must have. Which is why I am so sad and frustrated for losing part 2 of RotK. I'd been rewatching one part a night and tonight I was supposed to finish... :(
http://www.amazon.com/The-Lord-Rings-Fellowship-Extended/dp/B007ZQAKHU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1412458736&sr=8-1&keywords=lotr+extended+blu+ray
Hey, do you think you could link me? Is this what I'm looking for? Is that the right set for the extended edition?
If you're gonna spend 50 dongs on Lotr, at least get the ridiculously extended edition with boat loads of extra stuff that is almost hard to watch in its thorough nature.
I don't know why it has a fairly low review score, but it's probably something to do with Amazon's stupid practice of combining every related product into one review.
Does anyone know the difference between these two sets?
This one is more expensive
https://www.amazon.com/Lord-Rings-Fellowship-Extended-Editions/dp/B007ZQAKHU/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1480378816&sr=8-2&keywords=lord+of+the+rings+extended+edition

But if you don't care about 4k, here it is on Amazon. Will probably go on sale for about $50 during Black Friday next month, though.
They're on sale for $28USD right now
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B007ZQAKHU/ref=DVD_FB
I have the Extended Edition DVD's of each and just got the Extended Edition Blu-rays.
Yes, the movies themselves are blu ray quality. You really get to see the Gandalf's pores and each strand of Eowyn's hair. :-) It does make the landscapes look prettier.
It comes with the same appendices, but they are on DVD rather than Blu-Ray. Those discs won't look any better. It also comes with an additional "Behind the Scenes" DVD for each movie which appears to have a lot of the footage used to make the appendices, but also some new material.
If you're going to get your own set, I'd recommend
this edition.
Less than $60 for Blu Ray (well worth it, an incredible difference!), extended editions, and all the appendices. Can't recommend more highly.
http://www.amazon.com/The-Lord-Rings-Fellowship-Extended/dp/B007ZQAKHU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1373989826&sr=8-1&keywords=lord+of+the+rings+blu+ray+extended
No, there are special extended version dvds. They sell both versions. Here is the Theatrical Blu-ray. Here is the Extended Blu-ray (notice it says extended edition)
I think only once released both cuts on the same disc, but the norm is each has its own version.
Not OP, but here you go:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B007ZQAKHU/ref=tmm_blu_title_0?ie=UTF8&qid=1563219618&sr=8-2-spons
Apparently this is not the real "Extended edition" as noted by half of all the reviews that gave it 1 star which is borderline false advertising:
> This is not the extended editions with complete footage, these are the "as seen in theaters" cuts. Wait for the real product to be released.

I thought it was just a one day deal on Amazon, but it looks like you can still get it for $120.
Here is the link, if you want to buy it. I have the collection and it's pretty awesome. Expensive, but awesome.
i'm saving up for the marvel cinematic universe: phase one blu-ray set! i want it because i adore marvel comics and the movies make me extremely happy, and help me escape from the rest of the world for a bit! have a fabulous evening! :)
I am on the fence whether to buy them like this or buy this instead

Can we say giftcards? Because I want to save up and buy this. If not, just choose what you want.
Girlsplaywow is a jerk
Can I also say, I really miss playing WoW. :( I played from BC to just before MoP was released.
You can get the Phase one collectors set, which has all of Phase 1 MCU in it.
I'd assume they're planning a Phase 2 one also.
Just an FYI, this is not the Phase 3 Box Set by Amazon.
This is by Zavvi and it's different, EU Market.

Right now you can find that set new or used on Amazon for an exorbitant amount of money, with your link sold out these are hard to find. You can also find a Phase 2 set on Amazon for a decent amount. But to your question, I can see a Phase 3 set or a Marvel First 10 years set but I can see that First 10 year set running a grand easily. I can see a Phase 3 set running around $250 and the overall set running $500-$600 depending on the extras. I expect the case, like Phase One being the Tesseract briefcase and Phase Two being the Orb, being the Infinity Gauntlet. Just my thoughts anyway. I'm sure if Disney thinks they can make money on it they'll put it out. Though we probably won't hear anything about that till closer to the release of Avengers 4.
Hard to tell since the Bluray is not out.. but I would assume i would enjoy the movie.. that leaves 3 other discs of content. I can also assume i would enjoy the HD Free Digital download...
The digital download soundtrack would be nice on my Ipod, i would enjoy that.
I may even buy
http://www.amazon.com/Marvels-The-Avengers-Four-Disc-Combo/dp/dp/B0083SBMGW
since it contains all the Avenger Movies in Bluray
Amazon has the Marvel Cinematic Universe Phase 1 box set for $99 today. It's normally $200. http://www.amazon.com/Marvel-Cinematic-Universe-Assembled-Incredible/dp/B0083SBMGW/ref=sr_1_12?s=movies-tv&ie=UTF8&qid=1449327558&sr=1-12
Amazon Link for those interested. Not sure if it's been posted yet. If so, oh well. :)
I know this isn't an actually comic book or trade collection but the Avengers Phase one blu-ray collection would be sweet gift. Includes all the movies leading up to and including the Avengers. Link to it on Amazon

I live in CA so my favorite memory in Disneyland would have to be the first time I rode Peter Pan's Magic Flight. I was 6 years old and I thought that I was actually flying through the stars, it felt like the most amazing thing ever at the time.
/u/CelticMara just woke up.
/u/TheRubyRedPirate is curious about boob science.
Frozen, but if you would rather pick, surprises are fun, too!
> And when it is available it will be $35.
Not in this case.
I'm not sure why their older DVDs, not even Blu-Rays, are so expensive. It's like they don't want people to buy it.
The guy in this gif was homeless but still entertained people for no reason. I can't not smile when I watch it.
If possible, I'd like a copy of Frozen
very rough , but a little...the one on amazon.jp at the moment is an english one i think .

If it's this one then you get both a DVD and a bluray and a digital one.
Actually looks like they readjusted the prices on Frozen and the Hunger Games: Catching Fire. Maybe that is because I already ordered them at $13?
wait...people actually downvote contests? I was always surprised to hear about anyone downvoting anything here -__- /u/purebredginger needs to get in here, I don't know nearly as much about cat stuff.
-cats: this shirt has to do with cats. *price: $22.50
-golden girls: bea Arthur on broadway. price: $12.29
-Disney: frozen because I heard it was amazing. price: $22.96
-llamas: this shirt. price: $22.50
-chickens: a hen bag. price: $22.71
-jewelry: chicken earrings. price: $23.92. llama charm bracelet. price: $22.99. tinkerbell earrings. price: $22.18. cat earrings. price: $22.99
Limited shelf life applies with media as well though. There's a limited window in which a product will sell for it's maximum price, after which many people will no longer expect to pay the full price. Unless you argue that a copy of The Princess Bride (1987) should cost the same today as a copy of Frozen (2014). ('All you can consume' subscription services do not apply here as the individual performance cost paid to the licencer is amortized for the consumer across all subscriptions and viewings by the licencee/provider, i.e. Netflix)

List price for Frozen is $45. In a couple months the price will go up at least at physical retailers. I think I paid $40 for Brave when I picked it up a couple weeks ago.
Zambambo!
Thanks for the contest. :)
For any of you who don't know already they are getting ready to come out with the dvd/blueray box for the whole season.

Does 360 support youtube? You can watch it all on FUNimation's official youtube channel. They also have the first 4 episodes of the dub on youtube, if you prefer that.
That said, it's not HD, and the recommended subs are not the official ones. WhyNotSubs are usually what this sub recommends, which you'd have to find a way to acquire yourself (I do not believe this sub can publicly condone piracy). That said, if you do download it, I'd recommend purchasing the anime as well. $30 on amazon for 12 hours of anime is not a bad deal by any means, especially for a top anime like Steins;Gate.
You could just buy the dvds, and play those from your xbox, if you'd prefer that.
Rats, if you're convinced you'll love it, the Blu Ray/DVD set is pretty cheap. I own it myself and it's definitely worth 30 USD to me.
Think it went down in price
This is coming to Amazon and I'm really excited.
I love steins gate but why not buy the FULL SERIES for $25 on bluray with dubs in the classic edition instead - https://www.amazon.com/Steins-Gate-Complete-Classic-Blu-ray/dp/B00KU3Y5CG/ref=sr_1_2?keywords=steins+gate+blu+ray&qid=1549984147&s=movies-tv&sr=1-2

Anyways, I choose Steins;Gate complete series simply because it's my top series.
Anime to me this year has meant a lot of disappointment more than anything. I was super hyped for both Charlotte and UBW, and both were a pretty big letdown. On the other hand though I definitely did have some pretty big surprises with a hopeful future, in a lot of announcements including Steins;Gate sequel and Rewrite (although I gotta keep my expectations in check)
EDIT: Oh man how could I forget Aldnoah.Zero season 2 in my slew of disappointment? That was right up there as well.
Well this year in anime has had some surprises and disappointments. This was my first year of watching seasonal anime (winter 2015). The anime that had the most impact on me and made into my top 10 was the 2nd season of JJBA: SDC. My friend got me into it and I was skeptical at first but I ended up loving.
In general this year I became more enriched in anime and I've watched more anime this year than other form of entertainment in my life. I don't what I would be doing without anime if I hadn't discovered it (probably just still playing video games) but I wouldn't have had the influence of anime today. I've been learning Japanese since my 2nd year of high school (because it's offered there) so it has also greatly influenced my intake of anime.
As for what I would want I would like either Steins; Gate Blu-ray, Cowboy Bebop Blu-ray, or basically any quality wall scrolls for the Fate Series or Kara no Kyoukai Series like this, this, or [this.]
(http://www.amazon.com/Kyoukai-Fabric-Scroll-Poster-Inches/dp/B00SCZRHM4/ref=sr_1_2?s=home-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1451276748&sr=1-2&keywords=kara+no+kyoukai+wall+scroll)
Also thank you for doing this.
And the full series is available on Blu-Ray for $32.96.

Most stuff that comes out these days has both dub/sub on it.
This link here is for a $28 Blu-Ray of the series and it says in the product that it has both. For what it's worth, I have the DVD-version with the same cover and can absolutely confirm that that one has both.
Just to make sure we're looking at the same stuff, I've linked the items' listing and wrote some of notes. Let me know what you think.

A BluRay does exist. I own it.
I'm from EU (Finland), so I guess I can get it from the amazon.. But what I was actually asking that is that I couldn't find it from any torrent websites, I guess no one has uploaded it to online.
I wouldn't mind buying it but I still wonder why I can't find any bluray rip out of it.
I guess I will have to just get this then http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00NP06DJE/ref=pd_lpo_sbs_dp_ss_1?pf_rd_p=1944687782 (it's the same on than the funimations one released (Dec 16, 2014)

Yeah, this one. It really is a quite gorgeous set of (just) Hayao Miyazaki's work, since the oeuvre is now complete.
Do you know which version is in the Miyazaki collection?
https://www.amazon.com/Collected-Miyazaki-Amazon-Exclusive-Blu-ray/dp/B0117V8BX8

But it's just so much.
Are you talking about this one?
Because it says in the product details that there are subtitles. There's more info here as well which says there's English audio tracks available.
Sweet! I know you guys mainly do recent theatrical releases, but maybe you could watch some of the Ghibli movies? Amazon sells a collection of Ghibli films directed by Miyazaki, and Fathom Events will be having a Ghibli series in theaters this year. The Wind Rises is a more recent film that is intended for an adult audience, so I would recommend that one the most for you guys.
The Collected Works of Hideo Miyazaki - although you can probably buy all these movies individually for cheaper.
Stanley Kubrick: The Master Collection - doesn't include some of his earlier films, unfortunately.
Universal 100th Anniversary Collection - just a lot of great films from a wide range of genres for the money.
Back to the Future 30th Anniversary Trilogy - self explanatory
Indiana Jones: Complete Adventures Collection - comes with a free Indiana Jones 4 coaster!
While this is most definitely a bootleg they did license a complete miyazaki collection
Which appears to be OOP now

The Brainwashing of my Dad (trailer)
Rent, buy, watch on Prime, or free (with ads) through Amazon
It's on my own 'to watch' list and I don't want to spoil it but I heard it has a happy ending.
This is part of it.
It is a cult. When you can say government provided sources is fake news, the very information we base our entire budget on and make national decisions on.. I'm just at a lost of words.
I'm watching this documentary. It's pretty eye opening, you can watch it for free:
https://www.amazon.com/Brainwashing-My-Dad-Matthew-Modine/dp/B01C6AFEQG
"Fake news" has become a war cry against reality.
If you have Amazon Prime, show your dad this, the Brainwashing of my Dad.
I feel you. Watch "The Brainwashing Of My Dad" (on Amazon Prime)... it's very close to what your dad went through and explains it all very well.
Uh have you ever SEEN Fox News?
https://www.salon.com/2014/02/27/i_lost_my_dad_to_fox_news_how_a_generation_was_captured_by_thrashing_hysteria/

Etc
I don't know the statistics, but here's an anecdote from the other day: a college-educated friend of the family (he's a retired military officer) who is in his 70s and watches Fox News daily told my folks that climate change is a hoax. I'm reminded of the following documentary: https://www.amazon.com/Brainwashing-My-Dad-Matthew-Modine/dp/B01C6AFEQG
Wow this is a ridiculously awesome contest! And although I'm not a WoW player myself, I am a girl gamer, so I support your username!

I could use Lightroom for my photography. Or Cosmos for my nerdy viewing pleasure.
Read Cosmos:
http://www.amazon.com/Cosmos-Carl-Sagan/dp/B000055ZOB
Yeah - the one I have came in a cardboard box. Also - freaking expensive!
how come none has mentioned Cosmos by Carl Sagan yet?
Here you go, I just changed your life. Seriously though, watching this at a [6-7] were some of the best moments in my life. it's like a contemplative, poetic odyssey of the mind from the infinitely small to infinitely large.
oh yeah -- IT'S ON NETFLIX.
Any questions? Okay, well, this isn't directly related to astrophysics but it is something you'd be more in a position to answer than most, and something I've been wondering about for many years.
The original Cosmos was a TV broadcast, and the latest and best iteration made available to the public is the DVD set from 2002. The quality of that set is poorer than it needed to be, because no effort was made to remaster the tapes the episodes were sourced from, despite the black borders and composite artifacts typical of those days.
Today we could, and almost certainly would do so much better. The programs exist as two different elements: Video recordings and film recordings. The video can be cleaned of its composite artifacts, and the rest, being film, could actually be re-scanned as high-definition, enabling Cosmos to be seen in a much more pristine iteration, and even, in parts, HD.
I can't think of a more deserving program, and it would help bring that venerable series up to visual parity with your superb followup. Do you suppose this will ever become a possibility?
Thank you for reading and of course for your invaluable contributions to science awareness.
Buy her the cosmos on dvd. Worked for me.

Firefly is always a classic.
My girlfriend and I watch a lot of TV series. In no particular order here are some of our favorite series.
Firefly
Dexter
True Blood
Charmed
Heroes
Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Angel
Castle
Supernatural
Smallville
Futurama
The Walking Dead
The Tudors
I know there are some more I might be forgetting and I'll add them as they pop in my head. My favorite current series are Supernatural, Dexter, and True Blood. I recommend them highly.

You can check out the product description on amazon. They're showed in the order they are on the dvd with their air dates.
edit:
@ this
> It was better when I watched it that way, I just don't think it's some amazing all time masterpiece.
I think the reason people are disagreeing with you is because you are kind of missing the point. It wasn't an all time masterpiece, but it was a great start. Compared to other series' that most would actually consider masterpieces (pretty much any star trek first season), the first season was pretty phenomenal. Maybe it's not for you, but I found it at least as enjoyable as the expanse, but they aren't really comparable as one is a light hearted character based show and one is an epic thriller that's constantly jumping around the solar system.
Firefly!
Eh, not that close. But I tried.
And they are also not sourced.
Here's all that I can do for you, buy this DVD. The second disc includes the original 1977 theatrical release of the film. Go to chapter 35, time 1:19:49. Hear the clunk of the stormtrooper hitting his head. It's there. I promise you.
I remember back in '95 when I first read a list of Star Wars Easter eggs. I immediately put my tape into my VCR and saw and heard the goof myself for the first time. This was pre-Special Editions. I can only give you my word on this, unless you want to come over and watch Star Wars this weekend.
https://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Episode-IV-Limited/dp/B000FQJAIW
Should be able to find it cheaper, but that's what tolook for
A New Hope
Empire Strikes Back
Return of the Jedi
I'm surprised more people didn't rush out and get the two disc set that came with the original theatrical versions of the films (Amazon has Episode IV, here. It's just hanging out on DVD, waiting to be watched.
There's also an official DVD release of the originals but it's just a shitty laserdisc transfer, so while it'll probably look better than your VHS copy it'll look worse than most DVDs
remain salty
https://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Episode-IV-Limited/dp/B000FQJAIW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1468312230&sr=8-1&keywords=star+wars+2006
the original Theatrical versions of Ep. 4, 5 and 6 were released to DVD.
So I'm kind of lost. I own Episodes IV, V, and VI on DVD, and all three came with a second bonus disc that have the original theatrical versions on them. I don't know whether or not they're remastered, but I wouldn't complain about the quality, they're just as good looking as I'd expect from any DVD. Everyone seems to go on about how they can't be purchased except on laserdisc or VHS, but that simply isn't true. I got these at Target maybe three years ago, and they're completely legit. Turned in my old special edition trilogy to a used store and bought all three again to have both versions. Are they somehow different than the originals?
Link to the version I have
I used to be obsessed with getting every version on VHS and DVD that I could. Very happy to have this set on DVD. The unaltered version was a bonus feature.
https://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Episode-IV-Limited/dp/B000FQJAIW
2006, they have a problem though, lots of digital noise and artifacting in them. Harmy's Despecialized Editions are the best way to watch the original trilogy, with the laserdisc being the 2nd best.
Ummm he released the theatrical editions on DVD ins 2006.....
http://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Two-Disc-Widescreen-Theatrical/dp/B000FQJAIW/ref=sr_1_9?s=movies-tv&ie=UTF8&qid=1409067967&sr=1-9&keywords=star+wars
It's not HD, but has no one known about the 2 disc limited editions that has both the original and "enhanced" versions?
http://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Two-Disc-Widescreen-Theatrical/dp/B000FQJAIW
Theses ones

yeah there is. the 2006 DVD Version has the theatrical cut on the bonus disc.
Trilogy for $150
IV for $80
V for $40
VI for $72
The VHSs weren't letterboxed. Source: I watched them.

"Disc 2:
**Widescreen Feature (For Both Versions Full Screen and Widescreen) - original theatrical movie version in dolby 2.0 surround"
>For the original trilogy might as well download the despecialized version, only way to not get the abominations that are sold right now.
Nah not the only way
Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope (Limited Edition) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000FQJAIW/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_vDDwybP220207
Actually he did release the original on dvd. Second disc of the 2 disc versions that came out. (2nd dvd release). Out of print now but were widely available for a few years. This version https://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Episode-IV-Limited/dp/B000FQJAIW/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1482829395&sr=8-4&keywords=star+wars+dvd
But if you want something to complain about, that version was the laserdisc transfer and nonanamorphic.
The DVDs that look like this: http://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-IV-Hope-Limited/dp/B000FQJAIW/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1451895921&sr=8-2&keywords=star+wars+dvd have the original films.
There’s also a LD transfer on DVD!
> The fact you can't get an original cut of the original trilogy on anything newer than VHS just cements my not watching any of it anymore.
False
http://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Two-Disc-Widescreen-Theatrical/dp/B000FQJAIW/ref=pd_cp_mov_2
A New Hope
Empire Strikes Back
Return of the Jedi
They are highly sought after, and can be very pricey.
It's not impossible, but it's not too cheap either (speaking of DVDs, not VHS or Laser Disc). These editions have both the remastered and the original theatrical versions:
Episode IV
Episode V
Episode VI
The original theatrical version of the trilogy was released on DVD. You have to buy it alongside the god awful "special edition," but it exists.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000FQJAIW?cache=06e723b1268ef43b3c9a5737bf4bc250&pi=AC_SX110_SY165_QL70&qid=1407111532&sr=8-5#ref=mp_s_a_1_5
The 2006 DVD releases have the Theatrical versions and the Special Editions. Each movie is a two-disc set. They tend to be around $50-$75 per movie.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000FQJAIW?pc_redir=1398469452&robot_redir=1
If those are out of your price range, look for the digitally remastered trilogy VHS box set.
http://coolwatersprods.com/images/kershVHS.jpg
My DVD sets that I bought around the time episode 3 came out have the original theatrical version included. (I watched them all when I was getting excited for episode VII) the quality was pretty bad but it was definitely the original cut.
Edit: found them on Amazon if anyone is curious. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000FQJAIW/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1482287254&sr=8-4&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=star+wars+dvd&dpPl=1&dpID=51u3YmzYxNL&ref=plSrch
They got them on DVD for pretty cheap on amazon if you go with the used option. About 20 bucks a piece or less.
But rumor has it that Disney is planning to release them on Blu-ray leading up to the debut of episode 7. That's just a rumor though.

http://www.amazon.com/Five-Disc-Complete-Collectors-Edition-Blu-ray/dp/B000UBMWG4/ref=sr_1_1?s=movies-tv&ie=UTF8&qid=1330763303&sr=1-1
Just looked on Amazon real quick, I'm sure you can find it else where for cheaper, point being it's out of print so now people are milking it. Blade Runner 5 disc
I'd get this one. It's 3 bluray discs and the extras are on two DVDs.
Sorry, I think you've misunderstood. I was referring to this blu ray http://www.amazon.com/Five-Disc-Complete-Collectors-Edition-Blu-ray/dp/B000UBMWG4 , which includes the superior Final Cut as well as the SUPER SHITTY international version that Scott fucking hates. However, because it was an official release, he allowed them to release it on the same blu ray with the final cut.
Well I found it on Amazon, great movie:
https://www.amazon.com/Blade-Runner-Anniversary-Collectors-Blu-ray/dp/B008M4MB8K
Edit: Also another off Amazon that's currently in stock:
https://www.amazon.com/Runner-Five-Disc-Complete-Collectors-Blu-ray/dp/B000UBMWG4
There is a bluray out there with 4 different cuts in one pack. Watch them all. Start with the theatrical release.
http://www.amazon.com/Runner-Five-Disc-Complete-Collectors-Blu-ray/dp/B000UBMWG4/ref=sr_1_3
http://www.amazon.com/Runner-Five-Disc-Complete-Collectors-Blu-ray/dp/B000UBMWG4/ref=ed_oe_blu
The blu ray is stunning, and stunningly cheap for a 5 disc box set.
As mentioned by /u/hereisatoptip , Prometheus, Avatar and LOTR are positively stuffed with goodies. The Alien Anthology and Star Wars complete saga box sets are amazing, although navigating the bonus material in both is a bit of a PITA. The Star Trek 'classic films' box set actually included some great bonus features, even though the remasters of the films themselves left a bit to be desired. Also, the Blade Runner five-disc Collector's Edition has pretty much everything a BR fanatic could want, including the original workprint and the tremendous 'Strange Days' documentary.

ok the story is: I am 30 years old and in the last year or so, I have found that I am slowly creeping up a dress size or two. I was always one of those thin people who could eat anything and never exercise so I am a total newbie to fitness - I suspect it's the metabolism slowing down with age lol
What is strength training vs weight training? Also a friend recomended a DVD by jillian mitchels which seems to be some sort of strength training/cardio mix.
I know this will sound stupid, and I might get laughed at. But I have been doing the 30 day shred with Jillian Michaels and it really takes the wind out of me. Just requires 20 minutes a day. You will want to start slow but try to do all the exercises. You will be amazed at how this helps get you and your body started.
From there you can look at doing more directed, intense workouts such as weightlifting and jogging.
Your food intake will help you a ton and like other advice kept here - keep track of the alcohol. Health first, if you have to give up drinking while out with them and just order a diet coke for a month, then do it. If you cannot reliably track what you are putting in your body, the effects are greatly diminished in what you are trying to do.
You've just totally inspired me to buy this. (Psst- It's only $6.99 on Amazon! http://www.amazon.com/Jillian-Michaels-30-Day-Shred/dp/B00127RAJY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1332274118&sr=8-1)
If you don't mind doing work out DVDs, I think Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred is a great work out plan.
It's a twenty minute work out, but it really gets your heart pumping. It could work if you don't have much time. Probably also save you money on a gym membership.
Lol that's a good question. I haven't worked out at all in like 2 weeks (feels ashamed) for several reasons (knee injury more than anything) but today I'm starting Jillian Michaels videos again seeing I don't have a chance to go out to run :( I'll be doing this and this at home. That's a 1 hour workout, sounds pretty good to me... what do you think?
I'll definitely stick to eating 1500-1700 calories. The things I eat are: Breakfast: toast with peanut butter, a fruit (banana or mango), and a 198 calorie yoghurt. Dinner: I have salads, chicken, tuna, red meat twice a week max, veggies, beans etc. The rest of the day I eat only fruits like plums, kiwi and mango. and I only drink water.
I also noticed having a food and workout diary helps me a lot, I should restart that asap too.
I've wanted this for a while now. My friend had one we used to do and I could use this one since she moved! And it is only 9 bucks or so. :)
Amazon
Oh, does this release have the original theatrical versions? I might pick it up, then, although it sounds like it's letterboxed into a 4:3 ratio by the comments? Annoying, but probably less annoying than End of Evangelion being letterboxed into 4:3.
Star Wars Trilogy (Widescreen Theatrical Edition) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001EN71DG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_n4hFDb9SQDCZ5
You would have to buy it. This DVD set is the one to get
I have it, excellent set. It comes with both the original editions, and the 2008 updates.
You can still buy them. They were only released within the last few years or so, I think. It comes with two DVDs for each movie - the revised versions, and the theatrical versions (unaltered.)
This is it. I'm sure you can find it cheaper, somewhere. I got mine at Barnes & Noble for around $40-50

The 2008 DVD release has the original theatrical releases in the set.
Currently it's on Amazon for $270.
It's available - if you don't mind buying used.
He re-released the laserdisc versions on DVD:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001EN71DG/ref=s9_al_bw_g74_i6?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=center-6&pf_rd_r=1BZ5R6ZGDJ0GSP3N0KMD&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=1779775202&pf_rd_i=281446
Don't ask me about the price. They used to run around $50 when in production.
> He went back to the original trilogy and "special editioned" them and made those the only ones available on DVD and Bluray
To be fair they did release this edition on DVD (it's a laserdisk rip IIRC): http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001EN71DG/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 (I bought it in 2009 for 22 bucks )
That sucks about your testosterone levels. If you're having hormonal issues, that is probably the root of all your problems. Though, you didn't much about what you tried to do in terms of diet and exercise, and being that you're only 17 years old, I presume you aren't all that knowledgeable about fitness yet (at least I sure as hell didn't when I was your age).
First thing to do is calculate how many calories you need to eat to gain weight. Go to iifym.com and plug in your body stats into the iifym calculator and you'll get the numbers and macros for what you want.
Then get a calorie tracker, like myfitnesspal, and make sure you hit your calories and the macros. This is important obviously because it will help you reach your fitness goals, but also because a simple thing like eating enough calories and fat/carb/protein is pretty damn rewarding when you're in such a low place; every small thing you accomplish will seem like a big victory.
The next big step you need to do is get on a strength program like Starting Strength (SS wikia) or any program that incorporates compound lifts, I say SS because I personally know they teach you how to do the moves. I recommend just buying the DVD from amazon for $22.46 (maybe try the Amazon Prime 30 day trial and get it in 2 days). The DVD has videos of how to do the moves properly with instruction from Sensei Rip himself.
The point here is that it's all planned out for you, all you have to do is go to the gym (get access to a squat rack if you don't already) and learn how to do the moves, and do it on the day they tell you to. Personally, I trained this with a buddy who had this program years back, and after adopting the deadlift into my later workouts, I gained 5lbs (150lbs->155lbs) in about 2 months doing it 3 times a week and I wasn't even dieting properly, I was just a bro here pls sho mercy. Those compound movements are no joke, they recruit a shitload of muscles and when you increase the weight you only get bigger, which is why so many people speak so highly of them.
If no one has a solid solution, give it a try, if you already did, then props to you for knowing how to diet and lift at 17 years old (srs, all I did when I was your age was bicep curls lulz). These are, of course, external physical/mental solutions; when it comes to hormones that's an internal chemical and physiological issue which can be more complicated than we think.
Actually, those aren't it. Those are just random clips from seminars he does.
He actually has a DVD, which you can buy here.

This already exists.
Good form is insanely important so that you can improve and not hurt yourself. I've been deloading every once and a while on certain lifts when I feel my form hasn't been spot on to improve my technique.
Have you checked out the Starting Strength DVD?

It has like 9 discs of special features, so I sprung for all the documentaries

Sorry I'm late, but I have this boxset, and I love it. Theres hours and hours of behind the scenes and extra footage, and the movies themselves are amazing. Totally worth the money
This is getting out of hand considering this was just released 2 years ago. I think at this point, 10 years after the final movie in the trilogy was released, they shouldn't give a slap in the face to the true fans that try to support the franchise by buying everything only to have another $100 version come out 2 years later.
Does she have a Blu-Ray player? If so, the generic extended edition trilogy on Amazon is perfect as-is, and isn't ridiculously expensive.

buy it here £30 is more than reasonable
A little OT, but are you in the US or the UK (or elsewhere)? Amazon UK has some spectacular deals on blu-ray sets. (I picked up the full Harry Potter series (fantastic on BD) for about $50 US (now about $45 and the complete Battlestar GALACTICA series (another stunner on BD) for around the same cost a year or so back (it's now about $66 US).
As far as I can tell, the longer versions seem to be only in the Blu-Rays.
But you can get the whole set for as low as $28 (used) on Amazon.
https://www.amazon.com/Battlestar-Galactica-Complete-Blu-ray-Packaging/dp/B0027UY8B8/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1494265025&sr=8-3&keywords=battlestar+galactica
I concur with the second point. If you can't afford to at the moment but you end up really enjoying the series, i suggest buying the blu-ray of BSG which has a plethora of additional content. It's super worth it. This is the one i bought (and also one of the cheapest, but it's very good quality).
Yeah, what ^ this guy said. BSG is a hell of a ride.
It's 40 bucks now on amazon which is, (in my opinion) well worth your money. https://www.amazon.com/Battlestar-Galactica-Complete-Blu-ray-Packaging/dp/B0027UY8B8/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1492616780&sr=8-2&keywords=battlestar+galactica+blu+ray
The grain was intentional with this show. I got the under 50 dollar box set and it is absolutely phenomenal.
on sale right here: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0027UY8B8/
I own this version, it's the full series that also comes with optional extended episodes, bonus features, and Razor. Well worth the $60:

Amazon ahoy! I really enjoyed re-watching it.
If only this came in hd...
Hmm, according to wikipedia, they are slated to make a movie still? Also, they released them on DVD recently, finally. They better make that movie, or I will be very very sad, I've been looking forward to a revival for a while now.
Amazon CA/US or Shout Factory
We did get the DVD's finally
AMAZON
I caved and bought the complete series - They're region 1, but as long as you've got a multiregion player that's no issue, and I've loved re-watching every minute.
I couldn't help but think though: Wouldn't it suck to own THAT computer? You'd never win/complete anything.
reboot was amazing show really hope they get the reboot of it finished soon. as for how it ended i would say rewatch it
You're in luck.
Seems to effect this box set
Plus you can stream them all right from the Shout Factory website, which are sources from these DVD's and they don't sound right either.
If you binge watched them you could get them done in as little as two days. As a 16 year old during summer, I've done it. Also there are 8 movies, the last book was split into 2.
Movies on Amazon if you're interested.
Books
The books take significantly longer to finish obviously.
If you have any questions feel free to PM me. I've read and watched the whole series 10 times.
US release
I'm not sure that this has all the special features though.
http://www.amazon.com/Cosmos-Carl-Sagan-DVD-Set/dp/B000055ZOB/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1312053657&sr=8-2
Do you know people who like Firefly? Did they watch the original run? Check out the recent Amazon reviews on the DVDs, strange for a show that's declining in viewership. What about this, from Wikipedia:
>Joss Whedon, Tim Minear, and cast members Nathan Fillion, Alan Tudyk, Summer Glau, Adam Baldwin and Sean Maher reunited at the 2012 San Diego Comic-Con for a 10th anniversary panel. Ten thousand people lined up to get into the panel, and the panel ended with the entire crowd giving the cast and crew a standing ovation.[102]
Do you have the actual figures I can look at for sales and streaming, to show that it really is declining? I'd be pretty interested in that, but right now it looks like you're fighting my anecdotal observations with "nuh-uh," which is about as helpful.
http://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Episode-IV-Limited/dp/B000FQJAIW/
Didn't they already? Yeah it's super expensive now but still. http://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Two-Disc-Widescreen-Theatrical/dp/B000FQJAIW/ref=sr_1_12?ie=UTF8&qid=1374454600&sr=8-12&keywords=star+wars+original+trilogy+limited+edition
Nope. It's a work-out routine by Jillian Michaels. I removed my question about eating though.
To expand on this a bit, the 2006 dvds are what you would want if you can find them. They look like this, though as you may notice they are now out of print. Its the closest that you'll find to the originals from an official release. I would definitely not recommend the blu rays, they have visual issues and the changes really affect anyone's ability to take it seriously. ("NOOOOoo!", etc.)
Yes
It used to be on Netflix, guess it's not anymore. Handy website for you is Moreflicks
Or if you're desperate the blu-rays aren't too expensive
Edit - if you can find a working proxy its on Netflix UK
Looks like it. I'd have expected them to be more. Have bluray prices come down from $30-$40+ per title?
Looks like it. Althought why in the world are DVD and Bluray prices the same???
I'd rather not continue discussing this as it seems pointless to go back and forth with someone whose problems are seemingly non-existent.
It's called the [Phase 2 Box set](

There aren't any blu-ray but there are dvd releases of the original versions. http://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Two-Disc-Widescreen-Theatrical/dp/B000FQJAIW/ref=sr_1_4?s=movies-tv&ie=UTF8&qid=1417373914&sr=1-4&keywords=star+wars
http://www.amazon.com/Star-Trilogy-Widescreen-Theatrical-Edition/dp/B001EN71DG This boxset has the unaltered versions as dvd extras.
>You know, if you take those criteria and apply them to US education or tech, you kinda find that white men are second class citizens, and conservatives are about as discriminated as gays in the 50s.
I argue the latter is entirely false for a couple of reasons:
> you kinda find that white men are second class citizens,
I briefly cover this but white men aren't second class citizens, as that would be closer to slaves. All people are actually in indentured servitude at worse if you consider how much debt everything gives and how little money we make. No one in the US is debt free unless they have gross amounts of money and that is actually whats causing our current issue involving the deficit, poor distribution of money = bad economy, government and societal uprising.
IV for $12
V for $14
VI for $8!
> The VHSs weren't letterboxed. Source: I watched them.
If they weren't letterboxed, you are missing nearly half of the picture. You do realize that letterboxing shows you MORE picture, right?
Lol. It’s people I’ve known for 20 years. It’s not like they’re evil people.

I literally didn't know what you meant. It's actually for free on yahoo? But for sale everywhere else? Sorry.
Also check out The Cosmos if you're after awe inspiring wisdom. It's a wonderful series, and Carl Sagan is a wonderful speaker.
