I have the Blue Yeti USB Vintage White.

I got this dest scissor arm that screws into the base and holds it perfectly fine sideways and upright.

As far as I know, the only shock mounts that’ll fit a Yetti are the Blue branded mounts because of its size

I've never tried, but I assume you can - there're no 'pokey-outey' bits which could cause a lack of balance. I'd recommend hooking it up to an arm or something like THIS, depending on your setup and how you want it to look.

One thing to note is that the USB comes out at a bit of an angle from the back, so it might make things a little awkward to use without the stand. There're plenty of substitutes though, but my preference would be the arm.

EDIT: Here's part of my setup at the moment. It's a rubbish pic, but you can see how the arm would work. :)

£13, it's from Racksoy Amazon link

u/Makirole · 2 pointsr/gamingpc

Here you go. It's nice and simple and works, not to mention well priced too. Bear in mind you need to pick up the thread adapter too, else the snowball won't fit, which is another quid or so.

Listed below, works great with the Yeti
For tips on installation read the reviews, it really helped me

I've found my Blue Yeti nice but I have to fiddle with the manual gain on it more than I'd like to, it seems to vary on occasion on what it will pick up after a computer reboot but that may be an isolated case for me, especially since mine is well over 3 years old and may have deteriorated with each accidental headbutt - it has nice directional settings for which way you want to pick up sound, though. If you do end up getting one I can recommend this budget mic arm which helped cut down on vibration noise a lot: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00GLJDMPO/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Personally, I would just always use team speak or discord for chat, I never bother with client chats like steam of Battle.net.

I use Audactiy for editing mic audio. Hitfilm 4 for video

Also this is the mic arm I use, https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00GLJDMPO/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

cheap but does the job just right. had it for over 2 years, never had issues. Getting that mic closer to you and then lowering the sensitivty will help. Pop filter will be good, but generally just for helping to get rid of P's & S's.

I don't know much about livestreaming, but I'm sure some programmes would allow you to use a noise gate?

u/VenomousCompany · 2 pointsr/leagueoflegends

I'll link you the mic I used. And very popular among youtubers and streamers.

Mic - SL300

Stand

Pop Filter

What country you from? Cause obviously good English is important.

u/Spratster · 2 pointsr/pcmasterrace

Dude, take off that pop filter, I have a blue yeti too and did side by side tests using audacity with and without the pop filter to find that there was practically no difference.

After searching on Blues website, (forgot where exactly) I discovered that the Yeti has a built in pop filter, and that an external one need not apply.

What I am wondering however, is if you could pass me a link to the arm thingy you're using for the Yeti, I wanna get one.

Edit: Is this it?

u/NCWithasuit · 2 pointsr/battlestations

Kind of hard to explain, but i bought this stand http://www.amazon.co.uk/Professional-Adjustable-Microphone-Mounting-Broadcasting/dp/B00GLJDMPO/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1408654463&sr=8-7&keywords=Microphone+stand

And removed some things from the stand, then removed some things from the blue snowball, so the snowball should technically not be able to coincide with the stand, but i just did some minor modifications. If you want, i can do a guide on it tomorrow and PM you it :)

I got this http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00GLJDMPO?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00 and even though it was cheap it is fine for what I needed, mine is attached to the side of my desk and comes across me, just over my keyboard.

u/TeeggieBeeggie · 1 pointr/letsplay

Not sure where you are but if you're in the UK I just bought this super cheap option from Amazon. http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00GLJDMPO?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s01

It supports the weight of the Yeti fine and for the price is brilliant.

I was originally looking at Blue Yeti but after reading this subreddit, I've learned that I need a dynamic mic for streaming. I'm looking at this ATR2100 with an arm stand.

The question: so do dynamic mics have to be much closer to the source of sound? Or can it configured what area to pick up? What I'm asking is do I have to keep that mic, like 4-10cm from me, or can I leave it away from me on a comfortable distance of say, 30cm+?

Thank you in advance.

u/met3or · 1 pointr/battlestations

Hey, so the arm is the following:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00GLJDMPO/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

And I needed an adapter for the Yeti, so I picked up this too:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01EUGOD84/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Which is a lot cheaper than the Shock mount options. The arm seems to hold the Yeti quite firmly and I've not had any issues with it so far! :-)

What is it about the Blue Yeti that you don't like that you think a headset could help.

If it's that you need a flat surface for the stand, you can get an arm that you attach to your desk so you have free movement of it so you're more comfortable.

Cheaper than a good headset if that is the issue you're having!

u/IamZomb0i · 1 pointr/Twitch

This is mine, I think they're all the same I bet. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00GLJDMPO/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_t6ilzb7PS87Z9

u/DrageonTR · 1 pointr/microphones

Hmm. It just boggles my mind that I see my friend with a similar room and people on YT just stand it up and speak into it and it sounds so much better (also on USB, and unfortunately standard Yeti doesn't have XLR input)

Arm

[Shock Mount]

And Mudder

Or apparently just rebuy these and don't be depressed about a mic for a year and a half

u/RickZayne · 1 pointr/Twitch

I bought this for my yeti, https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00GLJDMPO/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_vKlizbWAD0D3M

It is cheap but it's strong enough to hold it up the only down side to this is it is shorter than the rode but depending on where you plan on putting it it might be okay, and I bought this mount to go with it since the yeti official shock mount is wayyyy to expensive
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01FQB3DD8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_.MlizbTQFA7KP

Only Downside is you need to switch out the O rings for the rubber ones off the yeti desk mount stand to secure it, it does work fine as it comes but you really need to tighten it up or it'll suffer from droopyness.

The expected date that Ebuyer.co.uk got the GTX1080 in their shop is the 30th of June.
But the GTX1080 is "released" and available to buy in the US & also UK. It's just that a lot of unaware people are buying the new GPUs as soon as possible, without realizing that the prices often always drop down a bit as well as that after-market cooler & PCB designs come out in a few weeks.

The official release date of the GTX1080 was the 27th of May. So that's why I said, that it's only out / available for a few days.

Hah, no need to apologize? I mean, all the better to have a bit more money, no?
Then you can spend the money elsewhere.
We've talked about the peripherals, sound quality, etc? How about this?

You could for example consider a higher quality DAC&AMP. So instead of the Fulla Schiit, you could get the Magni 2 (AMP) & Modi 2 (DAC).
I know that I've said that you should just use the on-board audio first. But I'm not sure which headphones you're intending to buy now.

Perhaps a better microphone, the Blue Snowball is a pretty good one for sure, but there are other & better options out there.

  • Blue Yeti - The king of the castle for high end consumer microphones

  • Samson Meteor - My own personal microphone, very happy with the quality and size.
  • Audio-Technica AT2020 - A very highly regarded microphone in the recording world. The stock stand that you'll get with it, isn't the best tho, but you can buy an after-market one that's a lot better such as:
  • Acelectronic Boom Arm - Seems like a very solid option considering the price, but you may need to buy an adapter to mount the microphone to it. But if I look at the picture of what you'll get with the AT2020, it seems to work just fine without this.
  • Samson Desk Stand - Good reviews and don't worry, it will fit other brands just fine, since the mounting system is the same for most microphone, altho as said above. You have 2 "standards" in terms of size, so you may again have to buy an adapter.

Any more questions about the sound, the dip switches, anything? xD
