Lightweight and comfortable grip design
You could buy a Vita and then order a case from PlayAsia that adds an L2/R2 button that just taps the back screen where they are mapped. I'll try to find the link.

No problem. Here's the case I have, the white version, and here's the same case in black version. Great prices too. When I git mine you could only inport it from Japan. I had to pay extra and wait for it in the mail for like 3 weeks.
I have both the Steam and the PSone versions for my PS Vita. The main drawbacks on the Vita is the lack of save options for TR1 and 3 (they are save crystal only) and the graphics are not as sharp. I've only played TR4 extensively on Steam and it never crashed, but there seems to be a bug that affects the lighting - it looks like there are no shadows. You'll notice a lack of dark spaces in the deep tomb levels, which seriously diminishes the atmosphere IMO. Aside from the drawbacks on Vita that I have listed, I really prefer those versions because they are so portable. Keep note that the L2 and R2 buttons are mapped to the rear touchpad and lack responsivity and you may want to get a Joetsu controller like this. I have one and I highly recommend it if you have a Vita.
EDIT: I'd go steam if I were you. They have all the games. In NA they only have TR1 to 4 on the PS Store. They don't have Chronicles nor Angel of Darkness.

It only has the l2/r2 buttons but for Borderlands it would probably work.
