Redragon K551 with Blues (Keep in mind this is the one with red backlighting. You can choose the one with no backlighting if you don’t want it. Rainbow one is a couple bucks over your budget but has set lights while the RGB one is roughly 5 bucks over your budget but has relatively programmable lighting):

https://www.amazon.com/Keyboard-Mechanical-Redragon-illuminated-ABS-Metal/dp/B016M91SS0?th=1&psc=1

Redragon K552 with Blues (The TKL version of the K551. This is the rainbow version with set colors for each switch as it’s under your budget. The RGB version is over your budget by 3 bucks. Same applies though, you can go for no lighting or just plain red for less):

https://www.amazon.com/Redragon-KUMARA-Backlit-Mechanical-Keyboard/dp/B01LZN7MLE?th=1&psc=1

Velocifire full-size with Blues (Just know that rainbow LEDs means you cannot change the color of the switches. It is not full RGB. It’s still pretty cheap if you want at least some multicolor things, but the colors you see are the colors you get. A bargain for 26 USD though, cheaper than the Redragon K551 rainbow version, although the color of the board is harder to work into a setup compared to the K551’s straight black):

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01C8HMIES/ref=mp_s_a_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1523898681&sr=8-6&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=Velocifire&dpPl=1&dpID=51xyHHRfUTL&ref=plSrch

There is also a version of the VM30 with black switches and is also 25 USD. It seems out of stock right now. If you want to wait a bit on that, it’s the cheapest board I’m aware of that comes with black switches:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07BFGZ891/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1523899072&sr=8-2&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=VM30+Black+switches&dpPl=1&dpID=51MCGebQeDL&ref=plSrch

Velocifire full size with Browns (If you’re looking at the wireless version, don’t. The wireless mode of it sucks according to everyone I’ve asked who got it. The only good thing of the wireless version is that you can run wired so that means you’re paying an extra 10 bucks for a removable cable option):

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01M0QEYR4/?th=1&psc=1

Velocifire TKL with Browns (I linked the wireless version because it seems like the wired version is discontinued. If you can find it, the wired version has blue backlighting and an attached cable for 30 USD. The wireless has a crappy wireless mode, no backlighting as far as I’m aware, but a detachable cable for 40 USD)

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B076D5WVYG/

If you’re looking for something like red switches because “gaming,” just know that is pure marketing bullshit. If you’re looking at reds because you actually want them. I’m aware that the Qisan Magicforce also comes in red, but I couldn’t find the 40 dollar option. That’s the only board I’m aware of that has reds in your budget range, but I’m sure someone who knows more can throw one out.

Redragon K552-RGB

I LOVE it. Great action, the backlight looks great and it's less expensive than some of the more prominent mechanical brands. Switches are similar to Cherry MX but not Cherry brand. So far so good-- had it about 9 months.

I have a Rainbow Redragon, it's the cheapest Mech i've bought and am gladly surprised by the quality, being one of the sturdiest KB i've had in the past years, it has a rainbow wave animation on the keys, the color is clean, touch and response are great, only thing people might not like would be the Blue switches, clicky, some find it annoying, the back is plastic so if he's a hard hitter it can resonate a bit. But all in all i've found it to be a great keyboard.

Its a normal keyboard, but I like it because it does not take up much desk space compared to others.

I just bought this keyboard and absolutely love it. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01LZN7MLE/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 However, when I have a game open, i cant switch my spotify song in the background using the F keys without pressing and holding FN first. It is really annoying. Does anyone have a simple solution?

-Already tried esc and fn...didnt work.

-I tried to do this from the BIOS menu but i just pulls up the MSI dash and it wont let me disable FN key use.

FYI, you can remove the “ref” part of the URL and everything after it. For example, https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LZN7MLE goes to the same product page.

https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/tBXFGc Ignore the compatibility warning, it should work fine out of the box.

I left the mouse and keyboard outside so add them later although i dont suggest razer since to put it simply they re junk.

And consider cheaper mechanicals https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B01LZN7MLE/

Or use the money towards a better monitor https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/product/bp2bt6/gigabyte-aorus-cv27q-sa-270-2560x1440-165-hz-monitor-aorus-cv27q-sa

The 3600 is stronger, comes with cpu cooler, cheaper b450 tomahawk is all thats needed. Much faster ram, no need for nvme or 750w, sorry i gotta go.

Ask me anything tho, i ll respond as soon as i can

u/officer21 · 1 pointr/buildmeapc

552 is cheaper.

So is the RGB version

Can anyone give me a thought on the red dragon K552 Kumara keyboard, what switch is it using and is it worth the price? I'm upgrading from a Logitech G310 and the X and 1 key have been fizzling out for a couple of months now.

I planning to get it at this site: https://www.amazon.com/Redragon-Mechanical-Keyboard-Switches-Construction/dp/B01LZN7MLE/ref=sr_1_4?crid=2PPX19N8TL4EN&keywords=red+dragon+k552+rgb&qid=1567960853&s=gateway&sprefix=red+dragon+k552+%2Caps%2C383&sr=8-4

And do you have any other similar suggestion? Around the same price is appreciated. Thank you in advance.

I've heard Redragon is good but I don't know how good, I'm currently using a shitty logitech bluetooth keyboard meant for tablets lol. There's one here I'm eyeing but I'm not sure how good it is compared to other mechanical keyboards (since I never used one)

u/hagbean · 0 pointsr/buildapc

Honestly no idea why you're spending so much money on a keyboard this has imitation cherry MX blues $27.

That PSU looks dodgy, don't cheap out on your PSU.

you're overpaying for 2133Mhz RAM massively, you could get 3000Mhz for less money

Tweak it where you can, get a better GPU for 144hz, other than that solid build.

edit: if you're desperate for the RGB aesthetic for whatever reason, this is the same keeb but RGB for $6 more.
