Airfix has a newer Spitfire, and the FR46/MK22 is a very good kit. Same goes for the EE lightning in 1/48.

American prototypes-wise, the F-15E from Revell is very good, but you'll need to shave the inside of the conformal fuel tanks to get them to fit seamlessly. I would hold off on this price; I got mine for about 20 dollars, with Prime shipping.

Also very good is the F/A-18E, another relatively recent kit from Revell. Fit is excellent, and it's astoundingly cheap. All these choices are in 1/48, but honestly, once you hit up to that size, you have many, many brands with good kits to choose from.

In 1/32, Revell makes very good Spitfire/BF-109Gs, which are both new releases. Avoid the MK22, which is a decades old Matchbox mold.

I actually just picked it up at my local crafts shop (Michael’s) and it seems to be a pretty common 1:48 F/A-18E made by Revell. I’ll see if I can find you a link for it.

Edit: I actually hated putting this together toward the end because Revell makes all their models with the landing gear down and doesn’t leave it possible to put it up without irreparably altering parts, and even then it still looks bad, hence why the ports are open and empty on this build.

Here’s the link.
