My gf and I weren’t sure on this either, so we ended up springing for one of these just to be safe!

I picked up a Rootless fire pit a few months ago. Surprised at how well it performed. Very stable and zero ash falls on the ground. Have had a couple of dozen fires in it with no visible wear.

In use
Snow cleared
Bonus foot warmer feature

Only caution is if there is a bit of wind the fire will burn very fast and hot. Rolls up into a small case.
