Would this be worth pairing with a hard drive enclosure to work as an XB1 hard drive?

Looks like with the $5 discount and the the enclosure, it would total $70 before tax. So it would be 7,200 RPMs speed using this bulkier setup vs. $86 for a 5,400 Game Drive that has the same storage capacity. I have no idea if it would need some type of formatting or would be plug and play though. But a cheaper price and better performance along with a free PC game is hard to pass up.

No. I don't like Seagates because I personally think they're unreliable, but everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

Just an example: Seagate makes an "official" external drive for the Xbox One, and if you look up reviews on that on Amazon, you'll see that a large portion of buyers complained that it randomly stopped working after 1-3 months: https://www.amazon.com/Seagate-Game-Drive-External-Portable/product-reviews/B01065S79E

That is just one example, but I have had a seagate drive for 2 years and it died on me randomly too.

I'm sure every external drive has its pros and cons, though, and I'm sure some drives that I like may not work out for others, but that's just my 2 cents. I've had a different WD external drive for my PS4 for over a year, and it's been working great. I have this one if you're wondering. I just bought another WD for my new Xbox One X, too.

I am a fan of Seagate and use the 2TB versions of one of these https://www.amazon.com/Seagate-Game-Drive-Green-STEA2000403/dp/B01065S79E/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1469156555&sr=8-1&keywords=seagate+xbox they even have a 4TB unit now for $149. I like them because they are a nice small self powered drive. Easy to take to a friends house if you want to. If you don't like the green (which you pay a bit more for) you can get the Seagate branded black ones a bit cheaper 1TB to 4TB starting at around $55 to $120. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B017KE8OG0/ref=twister_B00TS6JL4S?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

I think it'll work for PC too. The Xbox One will take any USB-external drive. If you're using it for media storage (e.g. movies, music), then it's plug and play. If you want to use it to store Xbox games and apps, then you will have to choose the popup option to format it for Xbox and that this will erase any existing data on it. You can format it for Xbox and then take it back to PC and, if you had chosen to format it for Xbox then you'd need to reformat it there on PC (which will, again, erase all the data).

EDIT Of course, you should definitely confirm that before buying, but for what it's worth, other Seagate "game drives" like this list PC as a supported hardware platform.

Is Seagate Game Drive for Xbox 2TB Green (STEA2000403) good? Because in its description says (like every hard drive company) "Works flawlessly with Xbox One and Xbox 360." This hard drive is cheap in my country. On Amazon, its price is $124.97 with shipping cost and estimated import fee. I can buy this if can save me from uninstalling games. :) https://www.amazon.com/Seagate-Game-Drive-Green-STEA2000403/dp/B01065S79E

This is the one I've been using, thought it would be more than sufficient.

I am building my first computer to switch from xbox. I have a 2TB xbox Seagate hard drive and was wondering if i could just re use it for my PC? I have a 240GB SSD already.

This is it: Seagate Game Drive for Xbox 2TB Green (STEA2000403) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01065S79E/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_Xz6TCb1VY6QCH

I use the Seagate 2TB Game Drive

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Seagate-Drive-Portable-2-5-inch-External/dp/B01065S79E

You can get the non xbox branded version cheaper I just like the look of this one.

Got excellent reviews and I have had zero problems with it so far. No more deleting games to install others and I believe it is slightly faster using the external usb3.0 drive than the internal drive that comes with the xbox.

I picked up the 4TB version of this Segate portable drive designed for the XB1. I've never heard the thing make a peep and it's plug and play ready!

Deluxe gives a few small items but nothing that is a huge deal. The deluxe I feel is not really necessary, but to each their own. The season pass gives 3 story expansions (or additional story content at least). I recommend the base game plus season pass (or get the season pass later).

You can gift, there should be a button to "Buy AS Gift" on the Xbox Website. The physical and digital games will be the exact same file size.

Hard drives are not too bad this day and age. Really anything about 256 GB and USB 3.0 works. You can get drives for 50 bucks or so.

It all depends on size and brand. Search Amazon for "Xbox One External Hard Drives" if you want to research more.

Thank you for your write up. Is this a good pickup? If not can you recommend one around the same price?Seagate Game Drive for Xbox 2TB Green (STEA2000403) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01065S79E/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_.X35Ab8YAFBEW

Will an external aftermarket 2TB hard drive work with the $300 One s?

  1. Yes I would suggest getting an external hard drive, I would recommend this one

  2. If you put in the disc or download of a backwards compatible game, it just plays on your Xbox One. Keep in mind that to open up the 360 menu whilst on the backwards compatible game you have to press the View Button and the Menu Button at the same time.

  3. It's the same Xbox Live account you don't have to pay extra fees or anything and you can still use it on your Xbox 360. Everything stays the same, achievements, avatar, gamerscore.

  4. I don't really know many f2p games so I won't give you my input on that.

  5. Nothing too big about security, you can find everything in the security options.

Seagate Game Drive is overpriced because it's Xbox branded and they trick people into thinking it's the only one they can use. You can literally get a standard Seagate drive in the same size for $20 less. I personally bought this WD drive.

I have a Day 1 edition OG Xbox One with games installed on https://www.amazon.com/Seagate-Game-Drive-Green-STEA2000403/dp/B01065S79E I have never had an issue

> There is no such thing as hard drive build specific for a console lol where the fudge did you get information like that from 0_o

Drives like this one and this video. That's where.

> Yes and no, depends on what you have plugged in, how much juice it's sucking up etc but if you gonna use external hard drive if it only uses power from USB that means it probably requires dedicated USB port to power itself without other shit connected through it via hub. It really depends on the way the hub itself is built and most of them are cheap crap

Did you not read where I specifically said the Segate Backup Plus drive? It has a hub built right into it, in which I would plug the PSVR. And I was also referring to the PS4 merely detecting devices plugged into hubs at all.
