Simple answer is, use whatever you feel like is going to be comfortable, I don't know if he still uses these but Beaulo uses these earbuds and KingGeorge uses samsung earbuds that comes with a samsung phone.

One of the biggest misconceptions in gaming is that you need a good headset in order to play shooters in general competitively, the only must for an audio peripheral to have is that it has to be at least be on a stereo channel. Especially with how sound is designed in siege, theirs some advantages in having either a surround sound over a stereo headset but its not a night and day difference.

Make sure it has a microphone or you at least have a separate microphone

A lot of pros use earbuds because when they are at LAN, they were noise cancelling headphones with earbuds under them in order to silence out the crowd, they wear them while streaming to get used to them.

Ok, this is going to sound insane. I have some skull candy earbuds that are probably about 10 years old from Target. They look rough. The bare metal wire is protruding from the cover. Couldn't have spent more that $10-$20 on them.

I decided to upgrade to these (I paid about $40 for them) and I hate to admit it, but my old skull candies sound just as good, if not better. I don't understand it at all.

Edit: (Apparently they used JVC speakers. I'm going to test again tomorrow. I imagine my Sennheisers may have needed some break-in time.)

so i bought these from amazon thinking i can't go wrong with senhieser https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00NQ1808Y/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Was greatly mistaken. these buds sound worse than ipod phones(which got destroyed because i washed em lol). can hear voices great on em but they clip out hard and hardly have base to em. sound better than some 5$ krogar buds i have but just sound terrible for music :(

anyways just wondering if anyone has any suggestions on some buds that sound better or are better than ipod ear buds. i could just get some apple 6 buds again but honestly while they sound good, they hurt my ears =p

Budget - 30 but dont mind maybe going up to like 40 if it really helps.

Source - Amazon.com only?

Requirements for Isolation - I like to avoid isolation. i need to hear myself talk in em

Will you be using these Headphones in Public? but sometimes. im going to avoid washing em so not all the time :)

Preferred Type of Headphone - ear buds in ear

Preferred tonal balance - so music sounds as good as a ipod ear phones. needs good base on that level or better!

Past headphones - ipod ear buds, https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00NQ1808Y/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1(bad set)

Preferred Music - EDM, youtube vide,s netflix

What would you like to improve on from your set-up - Sound. at lead ipod quality

Budget - $50 or less

Source - iPhone and desktop computer

Requirements for Isolation - Not needed at all, I used a $15 pair of Panasonic earbuds and I was completely satisfied

Will you be using these Headphones in Public? - Yes, I will take them everywhere I go, mainly for daily high school routine

Preferred Type of Headphone - IEM (same thing as earbuds right?)

Preferred tonal balance - I don't know anything about audio, so I guess just an overall balanced pair

Past headphones - I used the Panasonic Ergofit In-Ear Earbuds before. I liked that they fit well into my small ears, how light they were, and the low price. However, they broke very quickly after only a few months of use (that was my second pair).

Additional Notes - I've been considering Sennheiser earbuds because apparently, the brand seems to be pretty good in general (might be wrong tho)? I found four Sennheiser earbuds that seem to match what I'm looking for: 1 has the most reviews and seems like a safe bet. 2 also seems like a safe bet, there are not many reviews but everyone rated them pretty good. 3 is somewhat more expensive than the other ones and there are not many reviews, I personally feel like the other three options will be better considering the higher price tag. 4 is the cheapest right now since they are on sale while the other ones are not, but many of the reviews say that these are not durable at all. I'm mainly leaning towards either option 1 or 2. If there are other good earbuds (non-Sennheiser), I would appreciate suggestions! I don't know much about audio after all...

Gaming headsets are trash, as the other user pointed out. Get headphones or high quality inears (ear buds).

Even still, your peripherals are unlikely to simply delete noises from the game. Your CPU might be getting overloaded.

Or it could be the fact that White Noise actually broke game sound in the sense that verticality of audio (which was barely present beforehand) was actually for some reason entirely removed. You'll notice this the most on Tower, where literally both floors sound like they're the same floor. It also made for stupid circumstances where sound just doesn't travel. Ash charges, sledge hammers, Zofia breaches. They just don't make sound. It's infuriating, but it's just another thing that's broken about Siege.

Here are two earbuds under 20 that I think would be pretty good

https://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-CX-3-00-Black-Headphone/dp/B00NQ1808Y/ref=sr_1_1?s=aht&ie=UTF8&qid=1522609039&sr=1-1&refinements=p_4%3ASennheiser

and

https://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-MX-365-Earphones-Red/dp/B004ZLUZGY/ref=sr_1_17?s=aht&ie=UTF8&qid=1522609039&sr=1-17&refinements=p_4%3ASennheiser&th=1

But I would always recommend over-ear headphones instead of earbuds due to the dramatically better sound but regardless these are some earbuds I think are probably really good for under 20.
