> Amazon listed them instantly and I ordered TV in a few clicks. Lesson learned

The issue isn't limited to Best Buy, and Amazon certainly isn't immune to it. With some items Amazon has the same price listing issues that Best Buy does, and for the same reasons.

For example:

This and this and this at Amazon all need to be added to your cart before you can view the prices.

So there should be a lesson learned here, but probably not the one you think you're learning.

Bang for your buck you're going to have a hard time finding a better TV than the Panasonic S60. It's a pretty standard entry level plasma, but its picture quality really is quite incredible for its cost. You get some very basic Smart features, but as you said those aren't super important. Those features won't hurt the TV's input latency so gaming will be rather good in that regard. It's connectivity is limited offering only 2 HDMI ports and 1 Component/RCA port in the back. It's also a TV that I would definitely recommend you not run it in Vivid Mode or any high intensity picture setting for the first 100 or so hours on the TV, just to help avoid as many image retention and burn in issues as possible. It has the standard feature set to deal with those things, but you don't really want to put yourself into a bad situation to begin with. A 60" on Amazon is listed at $1,149.99 and the 65" is going to be less than $1,699.99. Based on the pricing you should definitely look at getting this TV professionally calibrated to get the absolute picture quality possible.

Alternatively if you wanted to go LED I'd say a Sony W900A with a sale price is going to be pretty competitive as well. It's got pretty much all the features you'd want at the moment, and it does offer 3D which offers some pretty nice features for gaming. Despite the large amount of processing on this TV, its Game Mode shuts a great deal of that off, giving it very good latency times. The downside is pretty much the price. The TRILUMINOS display helps with colours but it adds a ridiculous cost to the TV. A 55" will cost you $2,298.00 on Amazon with their current sale pricing. I would also strongly recommend getting this TV professionally calibrated, which is an extra cost you'll have to factor in as well.

The problem with the Sony though is that at that price, you should be getting the Panasonic VT60 instead anyways. It's going to give you one of the absolute best pictures you can possibly get (period) especially given your room environment. It's also fully loaded with features (Smart, 3D, Built in Skype Camera, Voice Activation etc), and despite that will still sport some decent latency times. It's definitely the slowest of the 3, but it's on the better side of average in terms of TVs in general. Unless you are like, MLG Halo caliber you're unlikely to notice any issues with input latency. The 55" on Amazon doesn't have a definitive price without putting it into your cart (which I was too lazy to sign in to do), but does show a reduction from their base pricing of $2599.99 (a used one is listed at $2199.95). While you can still get a bit more performance out of this TV if you get it Calibrated, it's not actually super necessary considering how good the default THX Calibration Modes are on the TV (which come by default).

I'll mention the Samsung F7100 as well just due to the sale pricing Amazon has at the moment. It's latency times are going to be pretty average as far as TVs go (making it the worst of the TVs mentioned so far). Out of the box the picture quality on this TV is super adjusted and frankly just bad, though with proper adjustments it actually sports a pretty strong picture. Definitely not a TV to buy without getting it properly calibrated. The problem you'll run into though is that I'd still prefer the picture of the S60 over this given the lighting you've described for your room. The only reasons to go with this TV over the S60 is; if you were absolutely terrified of any potential burn in or image retention image retention; if you simply wanted to go LED over plasma for whatever reason; if you absolutely could not deal with 2 HDMI ports and didn't want to get an HDMI splitter for the S60; or if you really just had to have the full Smart Feature set and / or wanted the 3D that badly and didn't want to spend the extra for the other two 3D TVs I mentioned. Amazon pricing has the 55" listed at $1,697.99 on sale.
