I am exactly on the same boat. If you look at the price of 49" X900E last year (https://camelcamelcamel.com/Sony-XBR49X900E-49-Inch-Ultra-Smart/product/B01N284JCN), it dropped by $100 around black Friday.
If you have a discover card, you would get 5% cash back on top of that if you buy from Amazon.

What size were you wanting? This is the tv I'm going with when I get the scratch. It's a great 4k tv and does hdr really well. Input lag is slightly high though at 30ms I believe.
