amazon says its 3lbs so its not a cheap toy aisle version but at the same time it's not a FULL contact version either. it's the best of both. i highly recommend getting one (just be cautious if you have 7ft ceilings, as you can't swing too high. the hilt is all metal with plastic and rubber bits. (well mine is) mine has little "lights" that are made of plastic (guess they could just be buttons too) and it has some rubber rings around it. to access the batteries you unscrew the base of the hilt and a triangular configuration of AAA batteries is positioned in a carriage that makes contact with the positive and negative terminals. there are a few drilled sound holes partially hidden in the base of the hilt. the blade portion at the other end is accessed the same way. a large rubber gasket sealed ring is unscrewed and lifted off from the length of the blade and the blade slides out. about 3-4 inches of the blade are held inside the hilt. it makes noise when you remove and re-insert the blade. you can also put in the end cap so you can carry it on a belt and not have an unsightly hole in the blade end. it also comes with a rigid plastic display stand capable of two displaying positions. one with the full saber connected and one with both pieces separated. it also comes with a belt clip but it's kinda plasticy and toy looking so i wouldn't bother with that one.

also i'm like 95% certain this is what he has as most of the lightsaber designs are copyrighted so custom sabers are supposed to have their own designs and names.
