That never get updated so they'll still be using some 3 year old bluetooth standard but because of the raised price no app supports it.

That the top search result for MFI bluetooth controller on Amazon... it uses bluetooth 2.1

I'm not saying Android has excellent controller support but atleast you can use great controllers on it.

Important: The controller you linked will NOT work with GBA4IOS


  • If you look in the details it's an "iCade" controller which only works with "iCade" games which GBA4IOS is not.

    You need a MiFi certified controller for GBA4IOS. I don't know which controllers Provenance supports but I'd guess the same.

  • I have a powershell that was linked by /u/EnvironmentalFuel and it's ok. however it appears to be unavailable on Amazon.ca

    I would personally recommend the Steel Series Stratus which runs about 39 CA$ on Amazon.ca Link


  • The reason I recommend the stratus is that it is bluetooth. the powershell is nice but when I got my 6+ it wouldn't fit. when I upgraded again it still won't fit. But I bought the stratus years ago when it came out and it's still working great 3+ devices later.

    Note: my powershell is still sitting on my old iPhone5 as a glorified gameboy.

I use the Steelseries Nimbus for my iPad/Apple TV, and for my iPhone on the go I use another Nimbus coupled with this clip (they stopped production so the price became ridiculous - I got mine for $10).

EDIT: According to this post, you can buy a clip for the nimbus for pretty cheap online.

I also have the CTRLi and the Stratus, but I prefer the Nimbus because it supports Bluetooth 4 LE, which seems to provide less lag and longer battery life in my experience. It's also the most supported controller - Apple sometimes breaks compatibility with other controllers between iOS versions.
