There is no universe in which I recommend a $1000 Samsung QLED over the TCL 6 series 2019 model for $200 less.

UHD is a resolution, 3840x2160p. Nothing to do with panel technology. You can buy some extremely shit UHD TV's. Frankly, most people sit too far away to even notice full HD vs UHD aka 1080p vs 2160p.
OLED is king for response times and contrast. If you only watch movies it is the best. I would take the TCL if you value the size over image quality, or if you do gaming + TV.

Just FYI the 2019 TCL just got posted. I'm in the same situation right now, and the TCL are looking pretty great.

For big purchases like this, I prefer to buy them in retail stores so if there’s any issues I can take it back the same or next day.
