Y-er here. Try a Whiskey Ball instead. Works like a charm if you like your whiskey chilled without weakening it as fast as ice cubes do.

Vodka is best chilled; stones would definitely be pretty useless for it.
It's the base for a LOT of great cocktails though, and I absolutely love using ice ball molds in mine. They melt a lot slower than ice cubes, so it doesn't water my drinks down nearly as much.
