Kind of.

It may come as a surprise to you that she was meant to be a feminist icon.

>She was created by William Moulton Marston, a psychologist with a Ph.D. from Harvard. A press release explained, “ ‘Wonder Woman’ was conceived by Dr. Marston to set up a standard among children and young people of strong, free, courageous womanhood; to combat the idea that women are inferior to men, and to inspire girls to self-confidence and achievement in athletics, occupations and professions monopolized by men” because “the only hope for civilization is the greater freedom, development and equality of women in all fields of human activity.” Marston put it this way: “Frankly, Wonder Woman is psychological propaganda for the new type of woman who should, I believe, rule the world.”

I mean, one of Marston's inspirations for Wonder Woman was Margaret Sanger, a noted feminist, birth control advocate, and one of the founders of the International Committee on Planned Parenthood, which later became the International Planned Parenthood Federation.

You can learn all about Wonder Woman and her connection to feminism in Jill Lepore's wonderful book, The Secret History of Wonder Woman

>Wonder Woman comics with themes of mediating with the villian and the lasso as a mediation tool.

You're gonna want to check out Marston's original Wonder Woman stories. There are two Golden Age Omnibuses out now with a third on its way which will encompass his entire run. There's also a smaller collection available digitally if that's more suitable for you.

In a way, no one will ever get Wonder Woman the way her creators did. Those comics are incredible.

Also check out The Secret History of Wonder Woman by Jill Lepore and Wonder Woman: The Complete History by Les Daniels. Great stuff.
