Rush Hour might look a bit kiddie, but it's a somewhat difficult game. It's essentially a car themed 2-D slide puzzle. You get a card that has the starting positions of all the cars in the puzzle, and you have to use the least number of moves to get the goal car out of the cluster.

The deluxe version costs a bit more than the normal version, but it has a color scheme that's a bit more adult (darker) and it has more cards that set up the puzzles. If your dad likes it, there are expansion decks of setup cards you can get him for cheap.
