The Thrustmaster T-flight HOTAS X. About $55 USD. 12 buttons, twist stick, and rudder rocker (the latter two controls can either be linked or bound separately). It's a perfectly serviceable unit for the price (cheapest HOTAS around AFAIK) which I personally used before upgrading (to the T16000M FCS). Downsides are the stick and throttle are a little imprecise (tuning with utilities like joystickcurves can help with this) and the relative paucity of buttons means you'll need to either use a relatively complex control scheme or use the keyboard or something else for more buttons, though given you already use a controller, you're familiar with those limitations.
The HOTAS 4 and HOTAS One are slightly upgraded variants of the X. They share the same external form, but have some internal improvements that help with the precision. They're also typically more expensive than the X and the increased price probably isn't worth it, unless you happen upon a sale that brings the price down to parity or better, in which case you may as well go for it.
If you need to go cheaper still,
there's the Stick X for $40, which basically takes the above unit, lops off the throttle and arrays its buttons on the stick base, and adds a little throttle slider.See below reply.Over at /r/hotas the Thrustmaster T-Flight sticks are favored due to a far better sensor mechanism.

Better than nothing, but a joystick would be the ideal thing. There's a reason if joysticks are used on real planes!
I've had this one for years and it still works basically perfectly despite the hell i put it through. Another really popular and cheap joystick is this one. If you want to search for others, check if they have a rudder axis. The ones i linked allow you to control the rudder by twisting the stick, but some cheapo joysticks don't have that, and trust me, you're gonna need it.
The HOTAS 4 isn't the same as the T.Flight Stick X. But yes, I still think that is also still available.
HOTAS 4 is the PS4 re-packaging of the old HOTAS X. And there's to be a HOTAS One that is the XBos re-packaging of the same updated stick. I don't know if anything but the paint and the proprietary save card ports is actually updated, but it might be slightly better than the decade old HOTAS X.

This stick and it's bigger brother (the t flight hotas x) are popular with the elite community now. The only difference between the the two is the speed control.

Its the same stick that came with the hotas you mentioned but with more buttons and the throttle built into the stick and for only $30. Also good for military (dcs/il2) type stuff.

I would think that would be a nightmare. You're going to want a stick. The T-Flight HOTAS is fairly inexpensive and works pretty well. The only thing that really annoyed me with it was that it had a catch in the center of the throttle. If you have any mechanical skills, and maybe a dremel, that's fairly easy to remove.
Probably the least expensive stick I'd go for would be this one.
But if you're serious about enjoying the flying the T-16000M is well worth the $102.

I use the version without throttle and I prefer it over my saitek x52 pro.
