For an extra $10 you can get this Anker charger that is more future proof for phones that support faster charging than 18w. Plus it has an additional USB port.

Also I just got the 49.5W charger from Anker and love it! It’s now my main travel/backpack/bag charger I take around with me.

u/Will7357 · 7 pointsr/iphone

I have this one. It charges my X and iPad Pro insanely fast using a USB-C to Lightning Apple brand cable. Can’t believe I didn’t have this setup sooner.

u/AFRUITPIE · 7 pointsr/iphone

Might not be the exact same one, but this is Anker’s 30W USB-C plus 19.5W USB-A charger. It’s a good one to have around.

You could buy a surface go charger, although it would charge at a slower rate. Or this cable

I like this Anker one better than the one mentioned below because the USB-C port is 30w and the USB-A is 19w.

u/410_Bacon · 2 pointsr/gopro

I really like Anker brand products. Here is one that has USB-C and regular USB: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0721DV7YX

This is a cheaper one if you don't need USB-C: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071YMZ4LD

If getting this mostly for the Switch it is a lot to spend for not a lot of performance. I usually recommend sticking with USB-C if buying new. USB-A is fine if you already own.

Anker PowerPort II PD | Review - $30

AUKEY PB-Y14 | Review - $40

This combo is $10 more, but offers faster charge with similar power bank capacity. The Switch will always charge while playing with USB-C. And the power bank will recharge more quickly. You'll still need to buy a USB-C to USB-C cable.

If you don't need that much capacity (extra 9+ hours playtime) you could get the RAVPower power bank listed above (extra 4.5+ hours playtime) and be around $60 with cable.

The Pixel 2 doesn't support Quick Charge 3.0, so it doesn't need QC output. The Pixel 2 does have Power Delivery, and you'll need a wall adapter that supports it. Looks like Anker makes a dual port wall adapter with one USB-C PD port.

I don't think you're going to find a wall adapter that does QC3.0 and Power Delivery, but I could be wrong. So either your phone will charge mega fast or your battery, but probably not both.

I just started looking into this myself, since I also have a Pixel 2 and am looking for a new battery bank and charger. Let me know what you find!

Hmmm, my understanding was that they can't do 5V 1A, but seem likes you know more about this than I do. I'm certainly not trying to argue at the technical level, and would love an explanation as to why it wouldn't charge (as well as the other 5W only devices I own).

All I can tell you is that the following chargers will not charge it:

Google 45W USB-C Power Adapter

Google Universal 22.5 W Dual Port USB Type-C Charger

Anker PowerPort Atom PD 1

Innergie 60C

RAVPower Wall Charger Adapter 45W Type-C

Inateck 60W Dual USB C Charger

Scosche PowerVolt Power Delivery

Anker PowerPort II (USB C didn't charge, USB A did charge)

I can list the various cables I tried too, but to keep it short I used 2.0, 3.1 Gen 2, and Thunderbolt 3 cables from Google, Anker, ReTrak, and j5create.

Have also had this RAVPower power bank since Feb 2017. Has been great. Charges in about 4 hours with this charger.

Anker is this one worth the extra $$ for any particular reason?

Get a Anker pd charger. Me personally I use this one

USB C Charger, Anker PowerPort II UL Certified 49.5W Wall Charger with Foldable Plug, One 30W Power Delivery Port for MacBook Air/iPad Pro 2018, iPhone XS/Max/XR/X/8/8+, PowerIQ 2.0 for S9/S8 and More https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0721DV7YX/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_ceUOCbYZR6AEC

And buy a Anker or Apple Type C to Lightning cable

Also if you hadn’t already definitely buy AppleCare+. You will thank yourself in the long run.

Yes like [this](USB C Charger, Anker PowerPort II UL Certified 49.5W Wall Charger with Foldable Plug, One 30W Power Delivery Port for MacBook Air/iPad Pro 2018, iPhone XS/Max/XR/X/8/+, PowerIQ 2.0 for S10/S9 and More https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0721DV7YX/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_XIIKDb4MYC7X2) which is the one I am considering buying

I use this charger as well and use this wall charger from Anker because both charge better than the stock charger.

I just got the new Anker Atom PD 2 along with two Anker USB C to lightning cables. I wanted to get something with two USB C ports so I could charge my iPhone 7 and iPad Pro 10.5" at the same time

So far it's working great!

Anker 60W 2-Port USB C Charger, PowerPort Atom PD 2 [GaN Tech] Ultra Compact Foldable Type C Wall Charger, Power Delivery for MacBook Pro/Air, iPad Pro, iPhone XR/XS/Max/X/8, Pixel, Galaxy, and More https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07DFGXLY4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_OOo8Cb8H9H6X2

If you absolutely need one USB A there is this:

USB C Charger, Anker PowerPort II UL Certified 49.5W Wall Charger with Foldable Plug, One 30W Power Delivery Port for MacBook Air/iPad Pro 2018, iPhone XS/Max/XR/X/8/+, PowerIQ 2.0 for S10/S9 and More https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0721DV7YX/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_eRo8CbVSTY0MQ

But personally I preferred to have two USB C ports

For that phone, yup. I'd recommend this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0721DV7YX/

Something like This May be of use to you it’s what I’m looking into.

u/nphowe · 1 pointr/anker

ELI5, how does this differ from the PowerPort II, which I picked up a couple months ago and alleges to output 30W?

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0721DV7YX/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_zCPXBbG9HEWE4

u/redavid · 1 pointr/iphone

If you want wired fast charging, you need to use a charger with USB Power Delivery.

My understanding is that while Samsung's newer phones do support USB-PD charging, the chargers that ship with them still use Samsung's 'adaptive fast charging' technology instead, so you wouldn't get fast charging if you used them with an iPhone.

You can buy cheaper chargers from other companies, like this $30 Anker charger that'll get you 30W from the USB-PD port.

u/Nefthys · 1 pointr/NintendoSwitch

It's the standard travel adapter that came with my S7, so it's probably for QuickCharge 2.0. The Switch probably can't use that - can it?

I was thinking about getting an Anker one like this one instead to charge the Switch and a power bank for it. Depending on which search result you look at, it's either 18W/USB-C and 12W max./USB-A or 30W/USB-C and 20W/USB-A. The image only goes up to 18W, so would 30W be too much?
