This is a good idea. I got one of these I carry around. If OP has already has a USB-A cable for their iPhone it would be better than getting a dedicated USB-C/iPhone cable.

a simple search leads me to believe that is not an issue nor the question at hand.
That being said, I'm wondering if it will work, or be a waste of time to try it.
That should work. If it doesn't, I recommend this OTG cable.
Not yet , i haven't seen such a cable, But there is still a solution like other user suggested using an adapter/dongle.
