I wouldn't worry much about the fence. Even if it's a super sturdy, brand new fence with awesome lock, they'll just climb it.
Securing your doors and windows seems like the best approach. Window security film may slow them down if they're attempting to break the glass, though it sounds like so far they've avoided breaking glass to get in.
You can also buy fake security cameras to give the illusion of security. Here's a 4 pack of them for $20. Signs indicating surveillance could help, too. There are some people who speculate that cameras and warnings of surveillance are actually an attractant to burglars, as they think you must have something worth stealing. I don't buy that, though.

He just says turn off the light switch I would go just one step further and turn off the breaker at your electrical box don’t get fried defeats the entire purpose. If you want some cameras to see if someone is sneaking around Wyze cams are great or get a trail camera battery powered but hide it well as it can be stolen.
