I bought 20 dollar crash pants off Amazon last winter after I lost an edge on steep ice and hit my tailbone HARD. I can't afford to take time off work because I broke my 45 year old ass. They are a game changer. Wish we had those 20 years ago when I started riding! I suggest buying them in advance to anyone who is planning to try snowboarding. I feel like destroying your tailbone will discourage most people from sticking with it.

I tried the Burton ones and hated them. They were hard and made falling hurt more plus they were super uncomfortable and expensive. Edit Amazon link
