I bought this one and love it! It feels rather durable. I originally had purchased the Nintendo AC adapter and didn't like how short the length was, and the fact that it was shorting out on me.

Very sturdy feeling and obviously has glowing reviews.

It's just not worth it for them to include the charger. They would've had to make the box bigger, which costs more, which would've made the shipping cost more, and which would've made them manufacture more chargers, which costs more.

Gamestop also has one that comes with a brick and is detachable. Forks out for old and n3ds ports.

USB cables are all pretty much the same.

I'm not sure on the availability in your area but I purchased a third party usb cord charger to make it easier for me to charge my 3ds in general. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00MVN9NPW Is what I specifically bought but there are a few like it out there that are made to charge while being used.

Like people are saying, you can use any old USB battery power bank. 3DS compatible USB cords are available on Amazon and eBay.

It works fine and it has metal braiding around the outside so you can worry less. It's also pretty long. Long enough that you can set the power bank down and comfortably play with plenty of slack. I recommend against the 3ft cables for this reason.

This one works really well and I've had it for almost a year.

They're well-made and work great. They can charge while playing, too (some of them can charge only in sleep mode). As a bonus, they're long enough that they can reach from the charging port under my car dashboard all the way to my daughter's 3DS in the back seat.

Just get a usb charger, they're way more convenient, they work with ac->usb converters and they're all around better. Here's the one I'm using, I haven't used my official charger in forever.

Was debating getting a 2XL or a refurbished N3XL for me and my sister but found a new N3XL for $175 on Amazon. $50 more than getting two 2XLs but, brand new, 3d feature is there if needed, better speakers, and longer battery life (several reviews have mentioned 2XL has shorter battery life).

• Is there a difference in charging times between the wall charger and usb chargers?
  
• Difference between charge times using usb chargers when plugged into usb wall charger and PC? Would one charge faster than the other?
  
• In one of the reviews for the Yuyikes USB charger, someone asked about the difference between it and cheaper usb cables. Someone replied that the cheaper ones only charge while the DS is asleep/off while it can charge while playing. Is this true?
  
• Using a USB cable, can you transfer things back and forth between a PC and the DS? Be it the system it self or a microSD card?

I love the USB threaded cable I have - way more versatile than the original charger since I can use it with a battery pack. Works with the dock too.

I looked around and only find knock-off chargers with bad reviews like not working or fire hazard. So getting a 220v charger for 2ds in the states is pretty hard.
Some people had recommended that you could buy a charging cable like this and use the iphone or android phone adapter to charge your 2ds. The cons for this method is that it will charge slower and sometimes you can't play while charging.

I purchased this one. It's held up really well. I felt better about purchasing it seeing a reviewer state it has the proper voltage to not overcharge/under charge your 3ds. And I have a fast charge adapter same voltage.

Can you order one of those? Not sure what shipping would be like, but going with USB instead of a wall brick would solve a lot of your outlet+voltage problems.

I use this with my Anker power bank, and also at home because I have a 5 port Anker USB charging hub in the corner of the room for phones, tablets, and also now my 3ds.
