Here are some similar nebulizing oil diffusers that have that cool apothecary look without being associated with anything MLM-related:

Those are crap, I have one of these and one of these and a couple sets of essential oils from this company, and they make every room in my house smell fantastic. You put some water in the bowl of the diffuser, and some drops of oil, and it lasts for days. Way better than candles for how far they throw the scent, and they don't burn anyone or the house down. If he just wants the light to flicker like candlelight, I have these and they work great for mood lighting while not burning the house down as well.

So you seem to have found a deity you wish to worship. She has spoken to you twice now. Congratulations, because some people never get that call. Here is some advice I can give you:

  • Reach out to other Hellenic Polytheists. Nyx isn't an extremely popular goddess so her worship is limited, but you will find other people who are able to acknowledge and respect your worship of her in the Hellenic Polytheist community. /r/HellenicPolytheism

  • Research, research, research. The more you know about Nyx, the better you will be able to worship her. Here is a website with information about Nyx. Here is her Orphic hymn.

  • Worship her. Say the Orphic hymn nightly before you go to bed. Or write your own. Establish a shrine to her. Celebrate festivals of hers. If you can't find any, create your own. Record your experiences, and when comfortable, share them with others who may be interested.

  • Don't be discouraged when you feel you are alone in your worship. Nyx's worship isn't widespread at the moment, but 50 years ago hardly any of our deities' were. Perhaps she is calling you to help her change that.

Having a shrine would be a great place to pray to her. Unfortunately Nyx doesn't have the mass produced yet easily recognizable bronze resin statues that many other Greek deities have, but perhaps this might work? You could put her on a black or starry piece of fabric from Michaels, and maybe add a humidifier near the space? (She was described as a misty goddess). These are a few shrine ideas, obviously depends on what you want and how much you can afford. And again, simply stargazing outside works too.

For her worship, you may try your hand at writing prayers or use those that already exist. There may be others in the Hellenic Polytheist community who have written modern prayers, or may be willing to write some for free. There are also plenty of 'night' themed candles, incense, and songs you may wish to use in your worship. Best of luck! Feel free to ask any follow up questions.

I have the common oil spray diffuser. It's nice. It does the job. But I have to turn it on and I don't find it that subtle in my 16' x 16' room. When it's not on, it doesn't do too much. The residual oil in the water tray will slowly evaporate and add aroma to the room but it's hardly noticable. I only use one drop of whatever Essential oil scent I have on hand at a time.

I think with reed diffusers they'll consistently be putting out the same level of aroma so you can adjust oil concentrations to achieve the scent strength you want.

It’s an adorable acorn and I can personal the scent with my essential oils!

Aromatherapy can be very helpful for anxiety. Personally I have a lava bead bracelet like this where I've found success putting a few drops of lavender oil on it and letting the rocks diffuse the scent throughout the day. You can also use a physical diffuser for an office or bedroom space.

Like you, I'm very sensitive to scents. At first lavender made me nauseous but after about a week of continued use I find it a very calming scent now. I'd recommend sticking with it for at least that long before you decide to continue use or stop altogether.

As for their efficacy, I can say that lavender is the most useful for generalized anxiety. You can go over all the research-backed effects here under the "Human Effect Matrix," but in summary it has shown to reduce anxiety considerably as an oral supplement–and still effectively reduce state anxiety as a scent through aromatherapy.

Hope this helps for the essential oil part.

Err on the side of dryness rather than wetness if you're anxious about not killing it. I live in Zone 9b and rescued an abused Home Depot FLF. He's sitting just to the side of the window to get indirect sun. I let the soil go completely dry before watering. Also got one of these diffusers and set it on a shelf just above so that the vapors fall onto the young leaves at the top. He's putting out new leaves like CRAZY and pretty soon isn't going to be able to fit in that spot anymore!

You are a good friend. Last year I bought an essential oil diffuser from Amazon and gave it to my best friend. She liked it very much. This is a link to the product(https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07CZDNPPY) and I hope it will be useful to you. Hope that you can find the best gift for your friends.

I just purchased thisone from Sparoom. It runs on two AA or a USB cord and is only fan powered. It is perfect for what I need and very quiet. It diffuses very gently, and only nearby. I set it on my desk with the vent pointed at me, or near my pillow, and get a mild aroma. I get overwhelmed by heat based diffusers so this is just right. Not sure how durable it will be, but it does the job for now.

I also found this one on my search, but it was out of my price range.

I was talking about the natural ones that use oils, they're not something you plug in

An example would be this, they're really soothing
