Can anyone explain to me what is good about these Wildfire units? I tried using a 400W long throw for a show, but it ended up being not nearly as bright or controllable as the American DJ UVLED bar that I had on hand. The LED costs a fraction of the price and seems superior by every possible metric.

I'm just an amateur lighting tech, but the wildfire struck me as fairly useless by comparison. Am I missing something?

This is my go-to UV light, and it's cheap enough that you don't have to rent them. By ad-hoc visual comparison, they put out more UV than a 400watt cannon.
