You also can't rely on the overall ratings without looking at the breakdown either. The actual overall rating is consistently much lower than what amazon reports.

They say it has a cumulative rating of 4.2 out of 5 stars. If you actually look at the percentages of people who gave it each rating you find that the average is really 3.95 stars out of 5. This is true for every single item amazon sells. This is on top of the inflation that happens when just looking at the overall rating instead of the distribution of weights and the lack of a 0 rating. An item with 20 (paid) 5 star reviews but 50 1 star reviews (completely broken, doesn't work) will have a true average of 3 stars even though the majority of people say it is completely broken. Amazon will probably show it closer to being 3.8 stars for some reason.

They were at wal-mart and on sale for like 2.50 and since there is no rubber backing, they are super easy to wash with the rest of my towels. They dry very quickly and I just love them. I have 4 of them and I wash and rotate them as I do laundry.

Something similar to this. What you want is thick carpeting(?) that way it can't stay open on it's own and the lid's cushioned when it falls so that it doesn't slam.

Pick up a couple of these and throw them down when you shower and wash with your towel, thats what I use. Captures water like a champ and then I hang it up to dry with my towel. Works great and you don't have a damp cloth sitting on your floor or have to do acrobatics in the shower!

Both go in the wash regularly and have held up well.
Not sure if this is your style, but I have two of these and they feel good, with rubber backing. They kind of look like coral/sea anenome in person, so I don't know how you'd feel about that but it dries fast and well rated on Amazon and other sites. Machine wash and dryer safe.
