Here is the one I got. It has a cotton underside so it doesn't slide around and is 100% silk on top. I love it and it's machine washable.

If I were making a 9-in all-latex mattress, then I would make it from three 3-in layers. The bottom layer would be firm (33 to 39 ILD) and preferably Dunlop. The other two layers would be Talalay, and one would be soft (20 to 24 ILD) and one would be medium (25 to 32 ILD). That way I could layer them F-M-S or F-S-M to give an overall soft or medium-soft feel.

If it is important that you feel close to the latex, then you need a thin cotton stretch-knit cover, not a quilted cover with wool. Then you need a stretchy cotton padding layer to serve in place of a mattress protector (it won't be waterproof but it will slow and divert any liquids). Here is a good one:

Or if that is too expensive, you can just buy some cotton stretch knit fabric and attach some elastic bands to the corners. Here is the least expensive source for the fabric that I've seen:

https://www.diynaturalbedding.com/product/organic-double-knit-cotton-fabric/

Note that the price is per yard, for 90-in wide material.

Alternatively, if you can find an inexpensive source for jersey / stretch-knit cotton sheets, you could use a couple of those for a mattress pad.

As for the sheets, you definitely want something stretchy if you want to feel close to the latex. The best cotton stretch-knit sheets I have seen are from amazon:

I think 9 inches of latex will be enough for a 170 pound person. Most all-foam mattresses you see online are around 9 inches thick, usually with around 1-in of quilting or padding in the cover to bring it to 10 inches. Most 12-in or 13-in mattresses have an innerspring layer and a foam layer.

I don't think it is worth fretting much over natural or blended latex. There should not be a lot of difference in feel or durability. But if you are inclined to buy natural, it is possible to find it for not much more money than blended. For example:

Peru Pima, easily some of the best percale sheets I've ever slept in. Very good value for the money, if you could get them retail in the US I'd expect the price to be 50-100% higher.

I don't recommend The Company Store sheets - I just got some and they are basically sandpaper.

It's this one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B015WUIZYA/

I learned real quick not to get the ones that zip up after sleeping on one and having to walk around with a big red zipper imprint on my cheek for a couple of days 🤦‍♀️

If you're worried about how busy the room will be, try a simpler duvet cover. The one below fades from orange to take yellow and back and will work well with the ombre on the tapestry. Rusty, red-orange sheets would work well under these.

You can find silk options that are affordable like this one

Or, if you end up deciding against silk, there are lots of satin options

My sister uses the latter and likes it, I have a short haircut so my entire hair volume turns over ever couple months. Don't know that I would see a benefit.

No problem! I should have included some recommendations. Depending on your budget, here is 1 or 2.

I have purchased several of these and I love them. They are actually deep enough.

I'm big on percale sheets and recently tossed out / donated most of my older sheets to do a full refresh. My favorite is LL Bean's. They also come in solid colors. Closely followed by these Pinzon 300 count sheets from Amazon, especially considering the price. I liked them so much, I bought a sateen set as well and give them a thumbs up. I also purchased some sheets from Brooklinen. They were nice, but not as soft as the LL Bean option and around the same price, and I still preferred the much cheaper Pinzons to them. That said, percale is known to soften with laundering so it's very possible they'll continue to get softer the longer I own them. They also offer a more expensive sateen option. The fourth set that I got were Target's percale option - they were fine for the price, but I can't really recommend them over others. This is a great review of several different brands: http://thesweethome.com/reviews/best-sheets/

Might wanna get a sheet with a smaller pocket cause of how thin the mattress is something like this with a 7 inch pocket https://www.amazon.com/Pattern-Egyptian-Available-Different-Elephant/dp/B016EYACOO

u/rebelx · 1 pointr/shutupandtakemymoney

Can you compare yours to this product?

So I've been looking around and I was thinking these sheets would look great. What color comforter do you think would look good with them? I like the idea of either a khaki or maybe an olive green if that would look good.

u/jrosati1 · 1 pointr/PurpleMattress

These. The answer is these sheets. I have a purple sheet set, that’s made for my purple for mattress. But I certainly prefer the sheets, that I bought from Amazon. I think these are more comfortable, and feel better. And of course they’re stretchy, which is the kind of sheets that you need for the purple mattress.
