I wasn't sure if this would fit in product questions or diy, so I put it in misc.

Seriously though, I get that the brand is a lot of the price, but these are just pure ingredients. The brand didn't do much other than create packaging with their brand on it.

You can get all of these, with more product, for less than $15 on amazon with just a quick search and hardly any effort.

Squalene, 2 fl oz (60 ml):
www.amazon.com/dp/B003MJG19K/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_9UIBzbJZ2ASP5

Argan Oil, 4 fl oz (120 ml):
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00QVR0O6Q/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_FLIBzbJPQ620Q

Shea Butter, 7 oz:
www.amazon.com/dp/B000F4J8VI/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_5KIBzbV2CPQG2

You can get them for even cheaper if you bought them from ingredient suppliers as well.

I love using this stuff . Goes on kinda greasy, but soaks in and leaves a gorgeous sheen (and hydrates the house). 10/10 imo.

Edit: the Amazon price is a little higher than what Walmart sells it for. Typically about $5 there!

I'm including links to what I purchased on Amazon but you can shop around and get what you need :) If you end up getting what I'm linking to, it'll last you quite a while. I even sell some occasionally.

This is my nut free version but you I'll include some alternatives if you want to use different butters/oils. Basically, you want equal parts so adjust the recipe for amount you want. This will give you a little more than 2oz of body butter which lasts me at least a month and I put it on quite a bit. You only need a little at a time.

  1. Combine everything into a double boiler. If you don't have one, using a mason jar in a pot of boiling water works nicely. Melt the butters on medium low to medium heat, stirring constantly, just until everything is mixed and there are no solids left.

  2. Pour into small mixing bowl. Note: This is where I usually add essential oils, but during pregnancy, you'll want to be extremely careful about using them since many shouldn't be used. You don't need them, but if you want the added benefits, there are sites out there that can tell you which are considered safe. If you add them, let the oils cool for a few minutes then add them and stir the mixture well

  3. Put the bowl in the fridge for 45 minutes until it starts to solidify. If you don't want to wait that long, you can put it in the freezer for about 15 minutes until it starts to solidify. The edges will look more solid but the center should still be pretty liquid.

  4. Either with a whisk or an electric hand mixer (much easier), start mixing it. It'll start to solidify into the whipped texture, especially if you're using the electric mixer.

  5. When you're satisfied with consistency, put it into a jar or tupperware container. If you're somewhere hot and it starts to melt a bit, you can put it in the fridge to solidify it again.

You just need a small amount and it'll melt from your body heat and soak into your skin. Feels AMAZING.

Yeah I use it on my ass and hips too. Here's the one I buy: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B007B6RR98/ref=mp_s_a_1_1_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1469208758&sr=8-1&keywords=Essential+Depot

Store it in the freezer and it lasts years.

The kit isn't bad, however, I'm not crazy about the scale, it can only hold 3kg. I'd much rather see you get a scale that will hold 5kg. (they're not expensive).

Also not crazy about the "blend of oils". You'll get much more for your money if you choose a recipe that has some common oils used and buy them separately (olive, coconut, shea butter, palm/castor).

Also you will certainly want a stick blender, which is $15-20. This is a must have, not sure why the kit doesn't include it.

Anyway, if you think this is something that you will stick with and want to make more, I suggest buying your own quality stuff.

Stick Blender - $15 (Proctor silex at Walmart)

Digital scale $12 (linked above)

Digital Thermometer - $9 (Taylor waterproof - look on Amazon)

Goggles - $2 (amazon)

Isopropyl Alcohol - $3 (Walmart)

Spoons/silicone spatulas/bowls/cups - Dollar store - maybe $7?

Gloves (box of disposables) $4 (Walmart)

Mold $12 (Amazon)

Lye $10

Distilled water $1 (Walmart)

Oil will cost you less per oz if you buy in quantity, but even "regular" sizes of olive/coconut/shea butter/palm (Palm oil is a bit controversial because of sustainability concerns, all you can really do besides avoiding it altogether is buy from reputable companies that state that their Palm oil is RSPO certified) will cost you around $50 (Walmart and Amazon).

All told you're still under $100 and you've got a great kit that's got a lot more in it (more oil, blender, thermometer, bowls, etc).

It doesn't come with fragrance or lavender buds, but you can add some essential oil for a few dollars more and for what it's worth, I strongly suggest your first batch should be scent-free and color-free. Get your basic soap recipe the way you want it, then add scent, color, etc.

I get that mark too to some extent, but it is overall shaped like an "A" and that's the highest mark you can get </attempted CPAP Humor>

My apologies for that.

It took me a while to find the sweet spot between too tight and just tight enough.
I also found that I had to insist that they change me from medium size and then eventually to large and then XL to fit me, resulting in less pressure lines on my face. The marks still happen to some extent, but fade within an hour or so. They ( the CPAP tech) argued that the bigger the "footprint" on the face the more area there was to seal and that big people don't necessarily need big masks, but I found that the larger mask helped me find a better seal and comfort.

I also found that I could keep the mask looser once I got a dual material mask with a stiffer foam insert inside a more flexible outer seal. I have used my mask for years with some slight leaking at peak pressure even though the tech says it should have no leaks, it still helps my sleep immensely. The mask should ideally kind of "float" snugly on your face with the rubber floppiness doing the seal--if that makes any sense

I have seen here in this sub that some people use cloth inserts ( available on Amazon) to help with issues such as yours. some Amazon reviewers suggest making your own from old undershirt cloth or whatever. I have not bought any or experimented with that although I may try it at some point. - edit -- see /u/pseudoghost and /u/Gusman54 and /u/YarnBender 's posts

The dryness and flaking does not sound good. I would keep the possibility of an allergy in the mix in your quest for a solution. Coco Butter may be very helpful for skin problems like this ( if it is just simple dryness).

A larger mask helped me with my similar "too Damn tight" problems. I would wake up feeling like my skull was getting re-shaped! --Not Good! I tried a few other style masks ( other than the delta shaped full faced) and none of them worked for me -- I could not abide the chinstrapO on the nasal only style.

Good luck on your search for a solution!

~ ~ ~ edit to add:

/u/gh5046 makes a good point about regular cleaning of the mask -- I have had some wicked bridge of the nose skin issues when I neglected cleaning. At seven days out from new you should be fine - clean it anyway!

I use Palmers Cocoa Butter swivel stick found at Walmart or Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula Swivel Stick, 0.5 Ounce (Pack of 3) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0067ETBJE/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_XFoLxb78RMQQZ

It is a giant chap stick that is made from their cocoa butter and I lightly put it around my nose and it greatly helps.

u/Jenwith1N · 3 pointsr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

Trader Joe's Coconut Body Butter! I LOVE this stuff! I wouldn't buy it from Amazon though. It's half that price at the actual store. :)

Edit- A good salt scrub does wonders for me as well.

u/slick519 · 3 pointsr/CampingandHiking

why would i lie?

Volume 1: Camping, Chapter IX: Clothing, pp 148-149 under the header "waterproofing woolens"

>It is easier to waterproof woolens that cotton clothing. Simply make a solution of anhydrous lanolin in benzine or gasoline, soak the garment in it about three minutes, wring out gently, stretch to shape and hang up to dry, shifting position of garment frequently, until nearly dry, so that the lanolin will be evenly distributed. This process is very cheap, and old clothing can be treated by it as well as new, without injuring the buttons or anything else.

it goes on to talk about lanolin and about how great it is, but you need to buy the pure stuff because otherwise you will stink of sheep, etc.

This is the lanolin i purchased for my waterproofing it worked well, and was the cheapest of the lot. i now have a lot of lanolin left over, however. maybe i should start making lip balm?

interesting enough, i cannot find any modern references to waterproofing woolens with lanolin other than umpteen million cloth diaper advocate blogs who lanolize wool as a diaper cover that breaths.

*edit: my book is written by horace kephart, and while it makes many references to Nessmuk, it was not written by him or this fellow "Sears." you could have a different book.

I use this brush. I rarely shampoo and I don't rinse any of the conditioner out. I try to put oil in my hair when I'm not going out to condition it.
I use Safflower oil because it doesn't have an odor like olive oil.
Some of my favorite products are :

Hello AB! I'm super new to this sub, but I've been trying to learn.

Skin Type: Dry/dehydrated (?) with hella oily t-zone

Country/Climate I'm in: Southeast U.S.

Top Skin Concern: controlling oil and PIE

Current Routine/Products I'm Using:

AM

  1. Splash face with water
  2. Stridex in the red box
  3. Ponds Rejuveness Anti-Wrinkle Cream
  4. Mizon Snail Recovery Gel Cream (this might be out of order but my foundation looks amaze when I use this last)
  5. I know I'm missing a sunscreen and currently patch testing Cosrx Aloe Soothing Sun Cream

    PM

  6. Remove make up with Simple Micellar Water & cotton round
  7. Cleanse with jojoba oil, remove gently with tissue
  8. Mizon Snail Recovery Gel Cream
  9. SheaMoisture Raw Shea Butter Ant-Aging Moisturizer
  10. Prescription adapalene 0.1%
  11. Aquaphor

I'm specifically looking for help with my oily t-zone. I swear, it's like that one episode of The Office where they use grease to get the boxes of paper into the truck. Using Innisfree No Sebum powder helps, and I use a lot of blotting sheets, but I'm worried this much oil production means my skin isn't retaining any moisture?

Every cleanser I've tried makes me feel dry, even micellar water or splashing with regular water. I'm still very new to learning about AB, so I haven't tried any AB cleansing products.

Any advice, or suggestions to improve my routine, is very much welcome! Like I said, I'm very new to this so if anything outside of my main concern is a red flag, please feel free to let me know!
u/Miett · 2 pointsr/SkincareAddicts

I used this cocoa butter lotion. It had a bit of a strong smell, but it wasn't unpleasant, and I did notice a bit of a difference, especially on my arms.

I know loose skin is something people worry about when losing weight, but let me tell you--after losing 80 lb, I could be covered in muppet fur I wouldn't even care because I feel so great compared to where I was. The skin gradually tightens back up somewhat, but you'll never be 100% back to where you were without surgery. (which I'm not bothering with.)

That said, it's SO WORTH IT. Yay you!!!

u/fivetenths · 2 pointsr/SkincareAddiction

You should be using something that is much heavier for the dryness -- something that has either a cocoa butter base or shea butter base (or just use shea butter or cocoa butter straight). One of my friends had the same issue and so I got him a tube of L'Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream which is great for work or on the go but I'd highly recommend using one of the butters at night.

As for the dry circle, I don't know what that is. I had them before and it comes up when the seasons change s generally I just slather on shea or cocoa butter. I'm not going to say ignore it but I will advise you to monitor it.

Amazon. If they don’t sell it on amazon I don’t buy it lol.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B008PF3U3Q?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_image

I’m going to look into flawless for sure

You should definitely try doing it yourself. Pick up the sally Hansen facial wax strips for $5 on amazon. Rub them in your hands before slowly pulling them apart.

Recommend alcohol or pain pills lol

I’m on pain meds for my period. So I wax during that time of the month

If you're worried about that I'm sure you can find some raw or additive free Cocoa Butter somewhere.

u/blondie_brownie · 2 pointsr/RedPillWomen

Supplements: apple cider vinegar, complete multivitamin

Cleansing: TJ's serum after every wash, Mario Badescu enzyme cleansing gel at night, philosophy salicylic acid ceanser in the morning, honey and black sugar scrub two/three times a week, lush brazened honey face mask at least once a week. bliss triple oxygen moisturizer or Mario Badescu seaweed night cream; my choice varies by the weather, on really cold/windy/dry days, I go with the night cream.

Make up: mascara, eyeliner, eyebrows filled in/dyed, palmer's cocoa butter stick, sometimes lipstick or a lip tint.

Routine: I wash my face every morning and evening, and remove any/all make up. Every tinted face anything makes me break out, as do most spfs (although, this seems to work okay). I change and wash my sheets at least twice a week.

Lifestyle: I shower/wash my face after I do anything physically exertive. I run 4 mornings a week, do yoga 1/2 times a week, and do strength training at home every day with the SworkIt app. I also do keto, which has been great for my breakouts. I drink at least 70 fl oz of water a day, and avoid other liquids except black coffee.

I think shea moisture at walmart and gnc has a bar designed for skin like that. You could try drinking more water and eating more healthy fats. Just an idea. Hope it gets better.

Not really AB or non AB, but really like nilotica shea butter, especially [this one](https://www.amazon.com/Organic-Shea-Butter-Fair-Trade-Replenishes/dp/B0732K9T9B/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=nilotica+shea&qid=1557344997&s=gateway&sr=8-1). I like it because hard texture like cold butter and then melts. Also like shea oil. I have really dry skin and eczema and it's been helping.

After every shower I've been using Argan oil and this shea body butter The Argan oil has been great on my face too... it's actually helped balance out my skin tone - I was getting super dry, rashy cheeks and then greasy acne on my chin and nose, ugh. Anyway both that and the body butter have been awesome so far!

u/xterraguy · 1 pointr/sex

Cocoa butter is amazing. Make sure it's 100% pure though, there are varieties with wax, fragrance, etc. in them.
