Car camping? Backpacking?

If you're car camping and looking to throw some cash at it, the NEMO Stargazer is about as comfortable (and passingly amusing) as a chair gets.

If you're backpacking and looking at saving weight, the Moon Lence is inexpensive and an excellent dupe of the much more expensive Helinox Chair Zero - with the caveat that neither chair is entirely comfy.

For what it's worth, Outdoor Gear Lab has some excellent articles reviewing both camping and backpacking chairs:

I'm older and fatter than I used to be, and I don't have the energy or stamina I once did.
A game changer for me was bringing one of these chairs in to centeroo in my camelbak. Being able to sit down anywhere and have a back to lean on turns all of the tents into outdoor stadiums and turns any shade into a great place for a cat nap.
The key to making it through the day is pacing yourself.

I also strongly recommend bringing a tub and some epsom salts to soak your feet in.

Hi there /u/ilickbutts

I currently use this chair and I love it. I don't go anywhere without it.

Always wanted one of these: https://www.amazon.com/Alite-Designs-01-01E-JOR5-P-Monarch-Chair/dp/B009UW2TV2

I couldn't justify paying that much though, at least not right now. Maybe somebody who owns one can chime in.

Weight limit on these "giant" camp chairs is usually only 400lbs.

Travelchair Kahuna, weight limit 800lbs. And it's not cartoonishly oversized like the one in the photo, it's just 30% bigger than a standard one.

I use a Thermarest Trekker Chair - it's the straps and stuff that allow you to use a sleeping pad as the base for the chair. It's as comfortable as your sleeping pad is.

Browning Chair. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003AV6CO4/

Some beach chairs might work, but make sure the fabric is quiet when shifting weight. Lots of low height camp chairs out there, but most lean you back into a position less ideal for shooting.

Sorry, I should clarify (though it may not be much better) but I was thinking more along the lines of the sturdier "director's chair" camping chairs coleman puts out. Something like this https://www.amazon.com/Coleman-2000003084-Aluminum-Deck-Chair/dp/B00363PSEQ/ref=sr_1_1?s=sporting-goods&ie=UTF8&qid=1505833865&sr=1-1&keywords=coleman+camping+chair+director

I have been using this and I have been testing it's weight limit. It does not sink into the ground and it is small (when collapsed) and light to fit in your backpack.

I'm considering picking up one of these. Covers the wagon and a chair.https://www.amazon.com/Sports-BD-101-Foldable-Integrated-Combination/dp/B079TN8111/

I got this one and it works great. It is low but not as low as others. Also the legs can sink in so keep that in mind. This type of chair, if there's any sort of inclination, you just won't be comfortable. Unless you want to work out your core.

Ah, I was afraid it was the Helinox. I'm real keen on getting a camp chair, but $100+ is a bit out of my camp chair budget. I was hoping you'd have some experience with something like this, and then I would've asked you all about it.

u/futurebioteacher ¡ 1 pointr/CampingGear

The short black ones are a Costco version similar to this below (or any of the other rebranded knock offs). I highly recommend this chair style, there's no reason to pay $100+ for a helinox when these are exactly the same. They fold up so small!

I ended up buying one of these. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B078QYJWQD/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_gkg5AbRXT19AZ

I got it because of the 300lb rating and it appeared well reviewed.

Let me look into camp quilts, never heard of them.

u/stilldontgeddit ¡ 1 pointr/CampingGear

Amazon has these for $45. They did drop down briefly to $34 last month.

This seat works amazingly well and is cheap as hell. I picked up one around the same year as yours earlier this year. Found the suggestion on Hobie forums. I made no alterations to the seat other than attaching clips to the d rings on the seat and running shock cord through the back.

Here's mine. I did have to make an extension for the steering lever to reach it easier. I've been out a lot on it this year and yesterday I was fishing from sun up to sun down. You really can't beat this. And it's 40 bucks!

Oh, and you're gonna love having a pedal drive!

u/TheAlexCage ¡ 1 pointr/boardgames

I have found that this boyo is surprisingly perfect for board gaming.

I find it incredibly comfortable, enough so that even during 15 hour gaming sessions I'm still pretty comfy. It is cheap, easy to store, and comes with its own mini-table for game pieces and a cup holder to keep drinks off the table. Pretty happy with mine!

  1. So the “spooky vibes” were just “Netflix and chill”?
  2. Myself; with others ... I tend to prefer company but I also really value my personal time ... I’d say despite those thoughts ... its really all the same to me.
  3. Like always when you make these sort of technical points: maybe technically so, but I’m pretty sure the technical hurdles are no match for you ... just not sure whether you’re not jumping on purpose or if we gotta work on your high jump some more.
  4. I have several. Right now it’s porcelain, but sometimes I squat, though I also have these cool pack-away chairs for camping that self assemble ... their portability is useful.

I’ll hit you up later you old empty rice bag.

Depending on how high your table is, I'd recommend camping chairs

It absolutely is a real chair. Here is a picture of a normal size dude sitting in one. http://www.amazon.com/gp/customer-media/product-gallery/B002YRP1T2/ref=cm_ciu_pdp_images_1?ie=UTF8&index=1
