I realized I've been been dressing like shit for my entire life after moving to the US last year (I'm 23). Came to this sub, found the "Basic Bastard" guide via the sidebar, and purchased a lot of cheap stuff from Amazon this Saturday to start a wardrobe. Here are the purchases:

Where can I get slim-fit flannels that aren't ugly as fuck?

I really like the patterns on these but I just received one today and it is just way too large and boxy.

All of the slim-fitting flannels that I find either have just straight checkered patterns or have thin lines in their patterns that make them look way too busy.

The necklace was chosen as it has a snake and the green of Salazar himself. Additionally, the fangs were chosen to represent the sharp fangs of the Basilisk and they are easy to wear. If you really want to channel the spirit of the Basilisk, opt for wearing yellow contact lenses so your eyes match the monster itself.

I also recommend wearing your hair in an S-Shaped braid like this to really hit the "S" in serpent. You may want to add a little green makeup on your face to really sell the look as well if you so desire.

It might take some time to find and collect shirts like this, but I love this look for a Mr. Frizzle.

In case anyone is wondering where I got my shirt.. I have like 6 of this shirt in diff colors for work. They look really good with a binder BUT they’re also loose enough that if you didn’t bind you’d still look decently flat.

Would these pants and this shirt work? To be honest, I don't like the shirt that much but I think it would work.

These are strictly my opinions:

Woolrich Oxbow Bend (7oz), Patagoina Fjord Flannel (6.5 oz) are my two favorites.

Right behind them is my Wallace & Barnes (J. Crew) heavyweight flannel that I got for like $9 during the flashening last year. I'd never pay full price for it, however. Part of why I love it so much is because it cost less than a couple of coffees from Starbucks.

Best bang-for-your-buck bargain (again-- my opinion) is Legendary Whitetails. Sizing can be a bit odd though. I think they are made for the Mossy-Oak-Salt-Life-hunter/fisherman guys who trend towards having a larger size gut. You won't find slim fits here.

If you can get them on sale (got mine for $25) American Eagle makes a surprisingly great flannel shirt.

If price is no object, then Iron Heart.

My flannel shirt, I got it for Christmas and I already love it since I've lost a good amount of weight this year and I can pretty easily wear a medium, and it feels and looks wonderful.
