Dave is widely known in the rock community for side projects and surprises. In LA a few years ago I was witness to the Foos bringing out Stewart Copeland to come jam night one, and had Lemmy Kilmister play with them night two.

I'm honestly surprised people aren't more familiar with this- and with the fact that Taylor Hawkins can sing. Doesn't anyone own In Your Honor? A side note- their acoustic concert is a whole other kind of amazing- check out Skin and Bones DVD

Yeah, it's a track called "Room Service" from "The Dub Room Special" DVD. I think they took all the videos of it off of Youtube, I can't find any of them.

Here's a link to the DVD though, worth checking out the whole thing: https://www.amazon.com/Frank-Zappa-Dub-Room-Special/dp/B000BC8SW4

edit: this what you were thinking of?

I believe that's "Music for Montserrat" all these artists came together to raise money for Montserrat after a volcano. It's a great show, and I highly recommend getting the dvd, it's such an amazing show, Paul McCartney and Elton John also show up. Utterly epic.

Edit: Here's a link to the dvd it's an awesome concert!

Yeah all cleared up. There is no hot rats sessions LP. Original cover, original recordings with the original track list pressed on pink vinyl as shown here

https://store.zappa.com/hot-rats-limited-edition-pink-vinyl.html

And here

https://www.amazon.com/Rats-50th-Anniversary-Translucent-Pink/dp/B07YTDXVZY

It’s looking like thesoundofvinyl is the only website showing the LP with the hot rats sessions cover. Therefore, it’s likely an error.

Its cheaper on Amazon even with shipping to USA https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07Y9D3XGD

If the sound has changed, then it's probably due to the room that you have set up in. Believe it or not, it will make a difference. For example, if your friend had it set up in a practice room, then you have brought it home and set it up in the garage, it will definitely not sound the way that it did when you first played it.

Tommy Igoe has a great DVD out that walks you through the basics of drum kit, including setting up. http://www.amazon.com/Getting-Started-Drums-Featuring-Tommy/dp/B00005UV69

Just want to echo that 30 minutes a day is more than enough. Of that time, I would spend 10 minutes on rudiments and the rest on whatever you want.

>What all will I need to get started? Practice pad, sticks, kit, metronome?

If you buy an electronic kit, I wouldn't worry about practice pads. I'd recommend picking up Stick Control, learning the rudiments, and an introductory book such as Fast Track or Tommy Igoe's beginner DVD. Once you feel more comfortable, I'd recommend picking up Groove Essentials and New Breed.

For stick, I generally recommend starting with Vic Firth 5B hickory sticks. Of all the sticks I've tried, those are the most absolutely average. Weight, balance, size, etc. From there you can move into thinner (5A, 7A) or thicker (2B) as you want, but 5B is a good starting place, hickory is the best wood to learn with (and play with forever, imo, but that's debatable), and Vic Firth is fairly consistent.

Vic Firth's stick size comparisons. The standard sizes used by the majority of drummers, from smallest to largest, are 7A, 5A, 5B, 2B. Everything else is just incredibly minor tweaking that some people like.

"Colorado" is the first new Neil Young with Crazy Horse album since 2012's "Psychedelic Pill". The album will be released on October 25th and features 10 new Neil Young compositions. It includes several songs that Neil has been playing live in the past few months (eg: "Rainbow of Colors", "Green Is Blue" and "Milky Way"), and the epic 13+ minute track "She Showed Me Love".

The vinyl version of the album comes with a bonus 7" single, featuring an album outtake "Truth Kills". The 7” also includes a live, solo version of "Rainbow of Colors" from Portland, OR, on May 17, 2019 - the first time Neil ever performed this song live.

This incarnation of Crazy Horse is Neil Young on vocals, guitar, piano, harmonica and vibes, Billy Talbot on bass, Ralph Molina on drums and features the return of Nils Lofgren on guitar and piano, almost 50 years since he last appeared on a Crazy Horse album (1971).

The album is produced by Neil Young and John Hanlon and was recorded in Colorado in April & May 2019.

It's from their show at Wembley Stadium from several years ago. It's an amazing concert, I highly recommend you check it out.

Eric Clapton's Crossroads Music Festival 2007 is superb with an enormous set list and many big names. And I know some may not like John Mayer, but his dvd Where The Light Is is exceptional! 3 different sets including solo acoustic, the john mayer trio (john's blues-rock band), and finally him and his main band.

I didn’t find any other streaming sites but if you want the Blu Ray it’s on Amazon
