Best computer warranties according to redditors

You can get a 3 year warranty on amazon but I just double checked myself and it seems the warranty is through a third party (square trade).

I briefly looked up square trade and they seem to have great customer service but you will have to pay $20 for a 3 year warranty on a $300 graphics card. That is pretty cheap and OP likely played more then that in shipping (not to mention putting a value on time)

No the i7 isn't worth the price jump, IMO. I'd say the best deal is to get This Lenovo Y50 and use some of the extra money to upgrade the display to an IPS Panel since the stock display is pretty low quality. It's really easy to upgrade and can be done in about 5 minutes. If you need instruction, this video shows step by step.

As for warranties, I actually recommend this Squaretrade warranty. This is the one I got my dad after he spilled a cup of coffee on his last laptop.

These testimonials really give me faith is ST warranties.... Looks like almost every good review is someone who hasn't yet had to utilize the service. I'd never buy a warranty from a place I can't physically go in and talk to someone about the issue.

You can buy longer warranties.. OP maybe try NewEgg or Amazon since there are some states that offer tax free purchases and free shipping. Or wait until another bundle comes out.

I choose HP probooks since they have been solid machines. Dell is a value brand, more bang for the buck but the quality in some models is lower compared to HP machines. When I moved from HP to Dell, the amount of defectice computers dropped by a ton.

Lenovo is another cheap brand still riding on the days of IBM that used to be awesome....Acer is the bottom of my list...they are the Kia's of PC's

You can get it from Amazon for $50.. Ignore the guy that rated it 1 star, he's an idiot and has no idea what he was talking about.

It pretty much comes down to whether you want to spend $50 to protect your phone for another full year. But that's how insurance works, it's hardly any different than car or health insurance. You spend the extra money to protect yourself in case something happens. Nothing is worse than deciding not to get it and ending up bricking the phone.

Extended coverage is extremely important for Pixelbooks. If you can't add the coverage now, I would encourage you to consider returning it yourself and then re-purchasing it with additional coverage, or do whatever is needed to end up with proper coverage.

I would also strongly encourage you to return it to Amazon - they are just about the worst vendor for Pixelbooks. Your mom should understand.

I found the SmartGuard Protection Terms and Conditions does not really mention anything about computers even though the plan is called "SmartGuard 4-Year Laptop Accidental Protection Plan ($2500-$3000)"

There is also SquareTrade, their Terms and Conditions are a little more techie but still seem vague to me. EDIT: sounds like they do not allow their amazon price for items not purchased on amazon.
