I don't have much personal experience with butt pads, but here are some examples that look suitable. Check out some reviews and don't spend too much.

You definitely want to wear running shoes, simply because the foot stretchers are sized to accommodate bulky running shoes. Plus socks won't give you the traction or the support that you need for a consistent stroke.

Good luck!

Nice find! Looks like it's designed for 2" plates, too. Not an easy find.

I would love a lat pulldown or Archon cable tower, but nobody ships here and the units like this are too tall for my home gym.

Looking into one of these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07RFLHRGL/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A344BPXE7OBWO9&psc=1

This is the ultimate in space saving for a home gym:

Yaheetech 2pcs Adjustable Rack Standard - $69.40 - Somehow this has spotter arms and can hold up to 480lbs... That is absurd, and I would love to try it out.

Elite FTS Pro Mini Bands $4.80x4=$19.20 These are normally $9.60. You can use them for basically any movement and double looping them is more than enough for most people. These are also a forever item for some people. When you decide to upgrade to a larger or better rack these can still be used.

Titan Adjustable Pull-Up Bar - $45.89 - You can use this with your bands for triceps and just for regular pull-ups. Multipurpose

Fitness Gear 300 lb. Olympic Weight Set - $168 - Coupon still good at the time of typing this.

Titan Gymnastic Rings with Straps - $17.99 Honestly, these are super versatile and can be used for dips, rows, hanging leg raises. Just a great item to have in your back pocket.

Titan Incline Bench 650 lb Capacity $111.60 - Another forever item right here. You can use this when you upgrade to a larger home gym if you feel like it.

If we aren't allowed to use out of stock items then this is my bench:

Rep FB-3000 Flat Bench - $93.99 Cheaper and just as long-lasting (if not more-so), however, it is not as versatile

Eye Hooks with Rings - $14.99 You get a 2 pack of these for this price. Attach them to the wall at your desired heights and you get a pretty convenient, easily storable cable row and chest fly system.

A2ZCARE Combo Tricep Press Down Cable Attachment | Multi-Option: Double D Handle, V-Shaped Bar, Tricep Rope, Rotating Straight Bar - $52.09 This is a four pack of different cable attachments that you can use with the bands. Another forever item. These are genuinely what gyms use.

Total - $499.16 - This gym was built with someone who does not have alot of room in mind. All of it is either fairly collapsable (Squat stand, bar and bench) or not in your visible eyeline. I could have chosen a few different accessories and made it a bit stronger overall, however for your average gym goer this is a pretty solid set-up.

That's all I bought. Loading pins on Titan Fitness are around $21 but were out of stock when I ordered so I made my own.

I got this adapter sleeve pair, but as I'm used to all my Rogue gear, the quality control is hit or miss here. One adapter sleeve was perfect and fits my bumpers fine, the other one has an end cap with was turned slightly and caused me to have to forcefully push the plates on. Using some pliers to turn it a bit fixed the issue to where I at least didn't have to sand the little bit down. Speaking of quality control, the welds/angles on the BD-62 weren't perfect, as I noticed one of the pulley pieces was slightly angled so I couldn't quite get the full 180 degrees of turning because the bolt contacted the inner side, but it's almost unnoticeable.

The resistance on the concentric portion is normal. I was kind of worried about the reviews saying it's not that fluid, and was debating on going with the Archon model that touts ball bearings, but couldn't justify the extra ~$150 (the BD-62 was ~$205 at the time which seemed low, so I pulled the trigger) just for that. Some BD-62 reviewers did mention greasing up their setup which fixed any qualms of lack-of-smoothness.

I bought some silicone spray while waiting for the thing to ship, and when it all arrived it seemed smooth enough already. I sprayed it lightly with the silicone anyway, it may or may not have helped, nothing substantial.

Tangentially the Archon does have a lower-mount and is taller (some people complain about the height of the BD-62, it's fine for me), but the height of the Archon was a dealbreaker for me because it was going under my garage door. I'm glad the rubber wedge keeps the BD-62 stable on the floor or else rigging a mount would have been a pain in the ass.

The eccentric part is not perfect in the sense that it's not like pulling on bands where you have instant tension on the eccentric portion. With the cables, gravity takes a split second to reverse the momentum of the weights, but I suppose this is going to happen with all cable machines.

In the end, I built my own pulley system before this, taking the Spud Inc stuff as reference, buying my own pulleys and custom length cables from National Gym Supply - which is definitely better than the Spud stuff because those custom cables are really nice.

However, I was (expectedly) too lazy to put them up and bring them back down, so they just sit in a corner. The BD-62 is already set up at all times, so I can very easily use it ad hoc, which leads to more use, which means it was most definitely worth me buying.

I bought these and love them:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07BKNLP65/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Though my concern is not noise so much as damaging the tile floor. I do drop my weight sometimes when deadlifting. So far so good!

You could also get a Neck Harness.

u/Ktnmoo · 1 pointr/ManyBaggers

Looking to buy a relatively lightweight, but well-constructed gym duffel. Around $100.

It'll need to be large enough able to fit a pair of shoes (preferably in its own shoe compartment), some clothes, a few microplates, a chin-up belt, and a neutral handle grip for rowing. But no ideally no larger than necessary.

I'm thinking something in the vein of some of the popular Nike or Adidas duffels, but better quality.

u/rnaa49 · 1 pointr/Fitness

You can always buy one to complete you setup.

u/SaulFemm · 1 pointr/bodyweightfitness

I'm looking to mount rings to the joists in my garage. Would there be any noticeable difference between a mount like this one where the straps will be in carabiners which can move slightly or a mount like this one where that's not the case? I like the idea of being able to use the carabiners to quickly take the rings down without having to mess with the straps.

Best of both worlds seems to be this mount but it's wicket expensive for two.

This video came up with a google search "Omni Grip lat pulldown", followed by this hit on Amazon which would've actually been my guess. It's a set of lat pulldowns where you'd alternate grip between sets or instances of workout (pronated, supinated, neutral).

u/Shots-and-squats · 1 pointr/bodyweightfitness

I just got something like these and drilled them into studs in the ceiling. When I started doing this, I was 250lbs and didn't have a problem.

u/gahdzila · 1 pointr/homegym

I'm sure mine is probably the same base, with rubber grips.

I bought a package from amazon.... Cap landmine post, and Cap double d handle, and Cap loop thingie to go on the barbell with a chain (don't know what it's called, and it is useless IMO).

https://www.amazon.com/CAP-Barbell-Insert-Landmine-Eyelet/dp/B0793HPLSL/ref=mp_s_a_1_17?keywords=cap+landmine&qid=1558294352&s=gateway&sr=8-17

Anyway. I'm not as strong as you, but I've been doing bent over landmine rows with about 100 pounds on the bar, and the double d is holding up great so far. It's nice and grippy, I like it!

I didn’t realize that titan had such a similar dip bar does anyone know if it’s of the same quality. Should I go with the rogue? Thanks

u/beingisdoing · 1 pointr/Fitness

Works better than any of the other stuff I’ve tried.

A couple of these style pulleys and these (or some rope tied in a loop) , some rope(rope with a sheath, or tighter braid will work smoother), Paracord, or vinyl coated wire and some carabiners will make you a good cable machine for cheap. Get one or two loading pins if you want it a bit nicer. These are useful for other things as well.

Put one pulley at the top for high position and attach the other at bottom for low and move the bottom pulley onto the bar or around the safeties if you want to move it anywhere in between. If you get one or two extra pulleys you could to cable fly/crossovers.

You'll spend a lot less than other options and be able to customize all the lengths to your situation. Those pulleys are also way nicer than the spud or archon pulleys. High weight rating, can use a wide rope and allow you to remove the rope easily.

I over estimated most of the prices, but these are things I figured I would need in a home gym if I ever build one. If you take out a few, you can make it fit your budget.

I have these: Valor Fitness MB-B Dip Handle Accessory Set for BD-11, BD-20 and BD-41 (fits 2.5" tubing) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00B29F5JE/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_cR0IBbR3TWDKH

Supports up to 365. Of course, that's assuming you can use 2.5.

u/2zoots · 0 pointsr/homegym

Wassup friends. Still new to the homegym life. I have the rogue sml-1 and looking to do dips. Wondering if there's a way I can use rogue's matador attachment without breaking my ass on a squat rack or if you have other dip station recommendations? Another thing I'm looking for is to be able to do tricep pulldowns. Was thinking about something like this if you guys have other recommendations. Thanks!
