Top Reddit comments about Glandular Extract Nutritional Supplements:

Sounds like adrenal fatigue to me.

When I first went to a functional medicine doctor about 13 years ago she prescribed me two kinds of thyroid and put me on vitamin D and two kinds of adrenal supplements.

Two days later I felt like I woke up from a coma. It was miraculous.

She put me on Designs for Health Adrenal Complex and Designs for Health Adrenatone .

I’ve tried cheaper versions of adrenal supplements over the years and none of them work as well as these two. The complex has desiccated bovine adrenal in it. The adrenatone has adaptogenic herbs. Both are important.

Another really important thing is to get good sleep. Easier said that done. But you want to get to sleep by 11pm or you get a second cortisol spike that gives you a second wind. Good article here about it.

I also used to get this horrible burning sensation in my feet a night. I could stand in a snow bank and not get any relief. It’s called Grierson-Gopalan syndrome and it’s related to the adrenal stuff and vitamin B deficiencies. Those supplements take care of that as well.

Overall they solved a lot of problems for me.

It took years of taking them to really heal my adrenals and now I don’t need them anymore. If I’m going through a stressful time I’ll take them but I don’t need nearly the dosage.

Good luck.

I’m almost the exact same type of occasional user. Here’s what I’ve learned in 3 months.

Try to eat a full meal before your binge.

You gotta find a way to drink water or Gatorade throughout. You can get away with little to no food, but you must drink something. Meal bars and meal/protein drinks count as food.

Supplements have been the single biggest help for me. If you wanna keep using, you almost have to do this. Plus they are really good for you in general so don’t take them before and after - take every day.

Magnesium (chelated) - you must take this every day. Too may benefits to list for anyone who uses.
Vitamin D3 - Repairs your brain and dopamine
Vitamin B5 - Reduces stress
Vitamin B12 - Repairs nervous system and liver.
Vitamin C - Removes meth from your system. Take when you are ready for comedown. 250mg chewy tablets x 4 (that’s over the recommended dose but will not cause any damage at all - the body is totally cool with tons of this vitamin).
CoQ10 - really good for the circulatory system and heart.

Optional:
Cortisol Health - reduces stress at the chemical level.

Mood Boost - contains 5-HTP, L-Theanine, and GABA which are all known to be perfect for using. Reduces stress and anxiety.

This one right here was a game changer in getting rid of brain fog and afternoon tiredness for me.

Also I take turmeric.

u/MrMartyJones · 2 pointsr/quittingkratom

Yes Girl! You're doing awesome. I know you've faced quite a few challenges since quitting but I'm really happy that you've stuck to your guns. If it makes you feel any better I had the exact same wake-up-at-3am thing happen for several weeks after I jumped off. I didn't have the negative thoughts that you describe but definitely would wake up like clockwork at some point from 3am-4am. It was suggested that this was "adrenal fatigue". There is some debate about whether such a thing actually exists but I was willing to try anything. I started taking this. I don't know whether it really did anything or whether it was just a matter of time, but I promise you that it does eventually clear up!

u/kratbegone · 2 pointsr/quittingkratom

5-htp and Tyrosine. Otherwise, time.... Sam-E can also help but also hurt depending on your issue. Something else i looked at but never used since you body has been through so much stress and others have mentioned this brand: https://www.amazon.com/Gaia-Herbs-Adrenal-Health-Phyto-Capsules/dp/B0036THML2/ref=sr_1_3_s_it?s=hpc&ie=UTF8&qid=1466451274&sr=1-3&keywords=adrenal+fatigue+supplements

u/Kjellisdebeste · 2 pointsr/Nootropics

Your body needs to adapt for a while to get the right amounts of T3 and calcitonin from T4, but in the end it will be for the better.

There are some supplements to facilitate the metabolism to the right hormone. In the end you'll have more energy, feel better, think clearer.

If you don't mind me asking what kind of difference did it make. In terms of symptoms and how you feel? My naturo has me on this and so far I'm not sure I feel a difference. I've only been taking it a week or so.

Add this to your breakfast.

I've been taking Gaia Herbs Thyroid Support Supplement:
https://smile.amazon.com/Gaia-Herbs-Thyroid-Support-Phyto-Capsules/dp/B0036THNNY/ref=pd_yo_rr_bia_t_2?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=V86PHXZKVZRNQ2CJMC97

It has actually helped me a little in the past but now that I found a doctor who is willing to help actually monitor my symptoms and adjust my medication I stopped taking it.

u/icaaso · 1 pointr/EatCheapAndHealthy

I swear by these supplements for energy and resilience. Rather than pick you up from lethargy each morning, they help you wake up feeling rested and repaired.

I wouldn't call them "holistic medicines" there just supplements like vitamin d is. A holistic doctor merely means they may use alternative therapies along with traditional medicine to treat you.

I'm taking them to balance my neurotransmitters. The doctor gave me a take home pee test (had to take it early in the morning without food) that they sent to http://pharmasan.com/ for testing. Results of the test http://i.imgur.com/mCc6Txb.jpg

Then the company listed what I should start taking with detailed info on what it will do to help my brain. I plan to make a more detailed post about my experience with it here as well as a scan of the document the company sent me which has a lot of info on the brain chemistry going on in regards to what the supplements do. They've helped me a lot more then any anti-depressant I've ever taken. Keep in mind this is the specific blend that worked for me. If your interested in trying this route I would contact the company.

Thanks, I'll do more research. Can you tell me if this product is the same as NDT? I'm not sure if there's a different term for the product in the UK.

u/seasonsreading · 1 pointr/BeautyBoxes

The ingredients are listed under the supplement facts tab here: www.bulubox.com/ridgecrest-thyroid-thrive.html/. Looks like a mix of vitamins, minerals, and herbs.

My naturopath recommended Pure Encapsulations Thyroid Support when my thyroid tests came out low. It raised them to healthy levels after a month. http://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B001688DZ4/

u/Shiftgood · 0 pointsr/ketogains

I can't say I know for sure but maybe there are some things you can try?

1. Inflammation.
I've noticed inflammation makes me irritable. Probably why I love being keto as it calms my mood. So make sure your eating is on point and even consider supplementing with anti-inflammatories like Tumeric Circumin, Fish oils, Spirulina and Ginger.

2. Adrenals/Cortisol
You could have overactive adrenal glands that are firing up and not turning off afterwards. The ways to combat this are proper sleep, meditation, long walks at a medium pace. A great supplement for this that I use myself is Dr. Bergs Adrenal Formula. You can actually FEEL it calm yourself down.

Other than that make sure you're getting enough dark leafy veggies in your diet and fermented foods like kimchi. Perhaps you have some stuff in your body you need to burn through and just keep at it.

What ever it is - I wish you the best of luck. KCKO my friend.
