These prices are higher from when I purchased all about 6-7 months ago. I might have spent maybe $300-$400 for all the things.

Fellow bun fanatic, here. I fight the urge to throw my hair up in a bun every day. You see, I did the bun thing so much, I have permanently straightened sections of hair at my crown. After two months of bun boycott, I now have signs of curly life at my roots, and a couple of inches worth of new growth from the scalp. This gives me a lovely little frizz halo between wash days, but at least you can't see as much of my scalp anymore.
Cloth headbands help, but sometimes my hair still wants to come forward. So, I've started opting for wider bands, and even a "magic" headband like this one. I've been forcing myself to wear my hair down most days, but that's not always possible between washes if I'm busy. I just make sure to never wear my hair up the same way 2 days in a row and never put up wet/damp hair. Sometimes I'll gently gather my hair into a claw clip. Sometimes I'll throw it in a pineapple loosely with a quality scrunchie. The satin ones work okay, but they'll still cause breakage if you wear them too tight. I have some hair sticks and combs that I love in a very loose bun or twist. They're made out of highly polished wood or bone, and I get them at Renaissance fair vendor once a year. You might be able to find some on the Etsy website (I'm unaffiliated. I'm just a fan of homemade stuff). Another favorite of mine is the stick and leather hair tie like this one. If all else fails, there's always bobby pins or a protective braid.
The point is, don't wear your hair the same way every day if you must get it out of your face. Doing this gave me severe breakage and hair loss. It will be many months before my hair recovers fully from the abuse I've done to it. I would wear it down as often as you can, if I were you. I might pin mine up with a claw clip to run an errand, but the minute I get in the car to go home, I take it down so I do as little damage as possible.
The magic headband/neck gator has been a lifesaver for getting hair out of my face on a windy day or just working around the house. At home, though, I often put my hair up in a satin scarf of satin lined sleep bonnet even though I'm not going to bed. Honestly, that's the biggest thing that's kept me from reverting back to the dreaded bun.
I think a hair vine type of thing would look lovely! (An example https://www.amazon.com/Unicra-Wedding-Headpiece-Headbands-Accessories/dp/B07FPMLMPZ)
This would look amazing! It's out of stock at the moment, but I'm sure you can find something similar: https://www.amazon.com/Haressu-Headwear-Fasinator-Fascinator-Headress/dp/B07K22HTMV

The most expensive one on this list is $25. I hope this helps!
I believe this is similar to the one in the picture.
I FOUND SCRUNCHIES
I've been browsing Amazon for a lot of these accessory type items.
These aren't as close of a match as some of these other suggestions, but if you're looking to not spend a fortune on a single use item, these might also work as alternatives. I remember someone posting a rave about the faybox brand awhile ago.
option 1
Option 2
Option 3 This one has no reviews yet so I'd be a little apprehensive with this one.
I've always called both headbands, I think the Alice band is a U.K. thing. You can still find them at drugstores around here

The bodice is stunning, is it a dress or separates? May I ask who's the designer? About the sash/halo hair piece, I's pleseantly surprised by Amazon.

Thank you so much! I actually got it off Amazon! It came with cute little shoe decals that say "I Do" & "Me Too."
Those are just hair ties.
This is a scrunchy
I hope she'll be a fool -- that's the best thing a girl can be in this world, a beautiful little fool.
I didn't read the book in high school because I thought it was boring. We watched the original movie and I also thought that was boring at the time. Now that I'm an adult though, I thought I'd give it another shot. I loved the new movie. I can finally appreciate the simplicity of the story and the utter heart ache Jay experiences. After watching the movie I read the book and enjoyed it immensely. It just proves how much my mind has matured since high school.
When I think of the Great Gatsby one thing that comes to mind is the attire of the era, especially Daisy's hair accessories, and this item on Amazon gives me the nostalgic feeling of the 20's.
Heck yes I would party with Jay Gatsby!
I found you! For me I would love either this headband or gremlins the movie. For the other person I clicked random wishlist which gave me gwarsh41 who wants this thanks for the contest.
Spiked headband!
JAZZ HANDS lol i love that.
Ok here is my new favorite piece of jewelry. I love owls and it was a birthday gift from a friend. It's so adorable! http://i.imgur.com/GaWJPQ6.jpg
Here is the item from my wishlist because who doesnt need a spiked headband???
Thanks for hosting, Pony!
I too would love to know this. My head is both a little large and I have frequent headaches and TMJ and the combo makes most headbands hurt like hell. Even most elastic or stretchy ones will give me a headache over time. So far my only real solution is sewing an extra bit of fabric or loosening the elastic in most of them. Most plastic ones are headache city for me with a few exceptions:
Goody Ouchless
These which are out of stock. Hard to tell by the photo but the comb section is tilted back so it doesn't dig into the spot behind your ears.
The scunci one Rosydoodles mentioned are good too.

I have duct tape and rubber bands wrapped around one of my trekking poles in case I ever get a leak that I can patch. Rubber bands are helpful for closing food bags so far. I also rock a 'Japanese head band" which works great as a face shield/hat.

I have this one from FayBox except that I bought it from eBay for $10 (someone bought it and never used it). It is surprsingly good looking and has a nice weight to it.
I am wearing my hair down! I bought a beautiful and affordable jeweled floral headband from Amazon. here!
