Looks like a rolling garlic press.

Edit: example.

This changed my life and saved my fingers.

To be fair if my garlic press had compatibility issues with new strains of garlic I'd be fucking pissed.

It's called a Garject it turns out:

These Australians seem to make a good few other cool looking kitchen gadgets.

Looks like it's this guy (as it's also available at the dreaded BB&B).

Not to criticize /u/OliverBabish (of whom I am a gigantic fan/evangelist) but don't get that garlic press. If you're gonna get a garlic masher, get one that is easier to clean than the "bucket masher" one he got--digging around in the holes to try to get all the garlic skin out is a stupid waste of time. The best that I've tried are the ones that have a pressing plate that lifts out and can be scraped on both sides (like this guy or it's fancier all-steel older brother).

I have (and love) the stupidly expensive 'older brother' press but it was even more expensive because of all the other shitty garlic presses I bought previously. Buy once, cry once, I always say.

After I posted my comment, I got curious to see if they still made it since it’s been years since I got mine. And yup, here it is: Ikea 000.891.63 Koncis Garlic Press, Stainless Steel https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00PNKYZQC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_tDmDCb68B60QA

Dude. Buy a garlic press. You don't need to peel the cloves.

Bad formatting because I'm on mobile, but something like this. I use fresh garlic almost every time I cook because I bought one of these. Press a couple of cloves at a time (depending on their size), open the press and pull out the skin before moving onto the next clove or two. Quick and easy.

So yeah, I use one of those. THAT my friend, was the game-changer for me. No more chunks of garlic

Let me introduce you to this bad boy. No it's not the same as moving but it's close enough for me 99% of the time. I loathe single use kitchen tools but this is one of the only things I'll ever recommend.

u/Solusylum · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

These are nice. Just have to be sure to cut the garlic in half.

u/Basharoooo · 1 pointr/funny

Theres a cool little kitchen gadget called the garlic press. It turns your garlic into small pieces so you dont have to take the time cutting it and risking getting your hands stinky. You just put a whole garlic in there and squeeze it and small pieces come out.

A garlic wheel has changed my prep game. Depending on how much you roll it you can control the size of the pieces.

There is this little rubber roll thing you can put cloves into and roll them in it and it peels takes off the outer layers really quick. This one is from Amazon but you can find them a lot of places.https://www.amazon.com/Maxracy-Silicone-Garlic-Odorfree-Kitchen/dp/B07GFJPXNB/ref=zg_bs_678517011_2?_encoding=UTF8&refRID=NYDY5Q0P6QZKX1BKKTXE

Edit: I went back to mincing it with my knife, because cleaning this thing is annoying and the taste is pretty similar.

This is definitely on my list. If you cook a lot, especially with garlic, is damn near a necessity.

If that is too much money, this press from Trudeau was runner up for best buy, and costs about $16
