It looks like that's probably fallen out of fashion. I can't even find references to it Googling (Google didn't exist when I was in the Navy).

Looks like the common advice now is either a tungsten ring (which breaks rather than crushing) or a silicon band. (The safety scoring thing I remember was for preventing a ring caught in machinery from taking a finger OFF; it wouldn't really help much with crush issues, I guess.)

You can buy generic ones on Amazon or any online golf store for cheap like these. Most courses also will have a bin of left behind covers that went unclaimed that you can buy for cheap as well.

Amazon and Google. There are only 2 types of spikes companies are using right now. Overall it looks confusing, but a lot of them are backward compatible and whatnot. Without looking into to far, fasttwist 3.0 should do. Check the diagram on picture part.

I thought I had the tool, but didn't. You should be able to get them out with a pair of needle nose pliers. Some of mine were so worn down I had to drill out the holes to get a grip on them. Just don't go deep and you'll be fine.

That's what sold it for me. There was a link posted the other day to a headcover company that sold stars and stripes headcovers and I am seriously considering picking them up, even though I just bought these for my driver and 3 wood.

Same principle as the coat hanger or butter knife, but easier. Once you get the hang of doing it you can remove a grip in under a minute. Faster and cheaper than an air compressor.

Found this bad boy on amazon a couple weeks ago. Its also on ebay if you happen to have a mallet putter and love America.

Check out Craftsman Putter Covers on Amazon. 20 bucks, PU leather, and a magnetic clasp. I was tired of losing velcro putter covers, including TWO Scotty Cameron covers. The magnetic clasp hasn't failed me yet.

I got head covers with my new irons and I absolutely love them. I am picky about the head covers and always hated the ones where you have to spend a minute wrestling the covers on. These head covers work really well in that I can pull on the zipper and it unzips and slides off in one motion. Same thing putting them back on in reverse, one smooth motion to put back on. They work for both right and left handed clubs!

Fiberglass AKA polyester resin. It works, but epoxy has better performance for knifemaking purposes. Are you doing hidden tang or full tang? this is what I use.
