Ooooh fun topic! Hair background: I'm not sure if I have thick hair, or just a lot of it, but the volume is not lacking! It's got a mind of its own as far as texture - sometimes more wavy, sometimes more straight, sometimes even straight up curly. Length - mid-back to low-back, depending on whether I needed a big chunk of dead ends chopped off. Dyed religiously because prematurely gray is not my style. :'( Because of this dying, my hair is crazy dry. And I live in a really humid climate.
Products!
Editing to add things I forgot: I use a special microfiber towel for drying my hair (cause it's supposed to help with frizz), then I air dry the rest of the way 99% of the time. I will use a straightener or curling iron periodically, but actually want to start using those more often. There's only so much pretty you can get without heat styling.
I sleep on a satin pillow case because that's supposed to help with frizz and breakage.
I use
Nexus Therrape Shampoo and Humectress conditioner
However, I recently switched to Tresemme Deep Conditioning Hair Mask and it is way better than the nexus.
Additionally, once a month I use Lador Hydro LPP Treatment. This is a DEEP conditioner that you leave in for 30 minutes. I usually do a clay or cocoa mask or my nails. This helped me when I worked in the sun.
EDIT: you can get the its a 10 for cheaper at walmart than amazon. You can get that shampoo/conditioner combo cheaper than amazon at both Target and Grocery Outlet (regions vary).

> ArtNaturals coconut lime hair mask
Sounds really nice and its available on Amazon UK too:

I wash my hair every single morning. It's almost to my butt. I usually let it air dry and when it's done drying toss it up in a pony or a bun because I don't brush my hair when wet. I brush my hair maybe once a week because it's almost always up. I have straight hair so it hardly is tangled.
Once a week I use a hair mask. This one because it makes my hair so much more amazing feeling. It keeps it hydrated and stronger. That's usually the day I'll brush my hair too.
You could use some kind of moisture mask if you're not a fan of coconut oil! I personally like Shea Moisture Deep Treatment Masque. Every few weeks, I leave it on for ten or fifteen minutes in the shower while I shave and do everything else, and then rinse it out. Instant life for my hair.
as a tried and true hair product junkie I highly recommend [Fekkai Glossing Cream] (https://www.amazon.com/Fekkai-Brilliant-Glossing-Crme-Oz/dp/B00FRDPMQC?th=1) A little goes a long way. Use it on damp or dry hair. It's a bit pricey but a tube will last you a year. Thank me later :)
No problem and best of luck! I added some more details in my comment to you in case they are helpful. 3 months is still too short of a time for a major time just give it time but trust your hair will repair itself! Try to not stress about it since stress can trigger hair loss too. I was at one point considering female rogaine but I’m so glad I didn’t

The shampoo for this is okay but try to get this treatment product first. Be careful not to end up overwashing your hair so just twice a week is what you should aim for
I had to shampoo with it every day for about a week to get the initial crud off, which was pretty unpleasant, but then after that I was able to go down to the 2x/3x a week maintenance mode.
About the conditioner, I'm so sorry but honestly I don't know! I got it as a freebie in a tupperware from my last hair gig. From what I remember, it's basically straight-up olive oil mixed with some silicones and shea butter. I can't find anything quite like that on amazon, but this deep conditioner treatment mask looks like it might be kinda the same thing.
[$60] (http://www.amazon.com/Keratin-Treatment-Formaldehyde-Inverto-Clarifying/dp/B008F8DZCY/ref=sr_1_11?s=beauty&ie=UTF8&qid=1426136800&sr=1-11), decided to do it myself rather than paying $400 at some salon.
Is this the one?
well great hair starts off with a good moisturizing shampoo and conditioner. I like Kenra or joico. Then using a good leave in conditioner as well as an oil to mend split ends, use a thermal protection before blow drying, kendra's blowdry spray, works wonders, i swear. use a ceramic flatiron or 1" - 1 and 1/4" curling iron or wand. This will make it not look as frizzy. section it off in 2 sections, curl bottom then sides and top. any pieces that still look frizzy, curl those again. Most important, use a really good deep conditioner/mask once to twice a week. You can also use coconut oil. on clean wet hair, towel dry a little bit but still damp, warm it up for like 2 seconds in the microwave, put on ends and leave on for about an hour. dont microwave deep conditioner/mask. These are just some examples, most hair care lines have the same stuff, KMS is a little bit cheaper and just as good.
Thanks for this contest!! (:
Thanks! I was using (this)[Vitamins Keratin Hair Mask Deep Conditioner - Thin Fine Hair Keratin and Argan Oil Complex Hydrating Repair Treatment for Dry Damaged Hair and Scalp https://www.amazon.com/dp/B014FVQSAA/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_kM1nDbTHYQCT5] hair mask and it worked great until I ran out. That's when I noticed the major difference. Can hair get dependent on products? Hopefully that doesn't sound weird lol

Have you ever thought of including hitting a table punching bag into your self-care routine?
Joking (or not) aside, what makes me look forward to self-care time is that those minutes are completely mine. Example: I do a hair mask once a week, and for it to work I have to keep it on for 10 minutes. That time is pure free-time, a space where I can keep my mind off responsibilities and just stay on my phone/read something/staring into space without it being time wasted because I'm actually using it to take care of my hair! It's just an activity that doesn't require attention.
So my advice is: buy something that takes a while to act (more than five minutes, less than fifteen/twenty) and doesn't require much thinking/preparation, but just sits there doing its thing while you relax and enjoy your "free-time". It also needs to leave you room to move and not restrict your vision or hearing if you wan to read/listen to something.
The bath bombs in your wishlist might work, but they do take longer. My advice is getting
The last two leave you with less room, but you just need to listen to podcast/audiobooks, or have everything at hand.
Your hair looks coarse and wiry. What about trying a good moisturizing shampoo and conditioner such as Paul Mitchell Lavender Mint Moisturizing Shampoo and Paul Mitchell Lavender Mint Moisturizing Conditioner. Then once a week do a deep conditioner such as Neutrogena Triple Moisture Daily Deep Conditioner
A buzz-cut might work or just a heck of a lot shorter than what you have now.
If you do decide to try the Tinder route again, post a picture like the one of you in the black tank top looking straight at the camera. You are beautiful!
