I think it's called a "buff" or bandana there are many ways to wear them, I wear one all the time when I ride my bike or when I'm walking outside and it's cold. It helps me keep my ears warm and also so that I don't inhale cold air when I'm riding. I grew up in warm humid climate, wearing this lets me enjoy winter and be active.

It's VERY expensive but VirZoom is for sure a work out game if you get the Bike that comes with it.

I can tell you that you quickly lose track of time and get a work out in before you know it. If you decide to do any activity in the headset that will cause you to sweat, I Highly suggest you get some kind of work out head band to limit the buildup of crud on your head set. Something simple like this does the trick for me,

The equipment pictured are:

The Rift S, and updated Touch Controllers.

Command mini-hooks to mount the touch controllers in grabbing position when not in use.

Saitek X45 HOTAS setup - I found a number of these used available for around $45. They no longer support Windows 10 with their drivers, but these work fine for me with the older drivers. No link because any link to a used set will be sold soon after it's posted.

Selfpro men's sweat wicking headbands. They help reduce sweat and heat in the headset, as well as hold your hair back so it can't grease up your lenses.

Koss KSC75 headphones. Take off the clips and just tuck them under the headband, over your ear. Wind the cord around the halo over your ear, so that at rest they dangle in the right palce. The clips snap-off and snap-on, so prying them off won't damage them.

Three inch googly eyes. Easily the most important part of this kit after the headset itself.

Amazon Basics rechargable batteries.

Universal battery charger with LCD display.

Powerpax storacell AA battery caddy, so I don't have to fuck about with loose batteries. Take batteries from the right, add recharged batteries on the left. If you don't pack it 100% full, the empty space can show you which batteries have the oldest recharge - first in, first out.

Cheap and shitty A-frame computer desk.

Not pictured: Shitty Essentials armless swivel chair

EDIT: There are not any custom grips. The stock straps are hitched to the ring and re-attached.

I use one of these headbands and it works really well for me. I used to not be able to play more than 30 minutes before sweat started dripping onto the lenses. Now I can play for hours without issue.

On a really sweaty day at the end of a hard ride if I lean forward it can run some but with a fan I can usually make it.

Use an alcohol wipe to clean the handle before your session. This will remove the residual sweat/body oil left behind on the handle from previous training.

Tape will likely help with some drills, but will kill your hands for any high-rep ballistic drill like snatches. I'm a fan of chalk, but I train outdoors and I'm not too concerned with the mess it might make.

The only time I recommend gloves is when blisters come out. I had a situation last month where I had four blisters pop up at once after a session. These helped tremendously. No chalk needed. However, use them only once you've reached the point of losing your grip or you'll miss the grip strengthening afforded by a good kettlebell session. Strive towards the goal of training without needing them.

Also, get some sweatbands for your wrist. Keep a hand towel nearby to wipe off the sweat on your hands; the sweatbands are just for keeping the sweat from running down your arm into your hands.

I'm a huge fan of this headband (French Fitness Revolution) from Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MQ45I6X/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

You know, that's actually not a bad idea... I think I'd prefer a sweat band though. Maybe something like this

Here are some options instead of the studioform strap. These are effective, cooler and more affordable.

Zippered Wristbands - slide exciters in. By the way a deaf purchaser of my vibe belt out of the blue also mentioned somehow embedding exciters in clothing item or gloves, etc.

u/Skulltt · 1 pointr/Vive

Thrill of the Fight and Audioshield are my go to exercise VR games.

I also found a great headband that helps wick the sweat away from the headset. amazon link. This headband is very thin so having it between my forehead and the headset is great.

u/Malidorn · 1 pointr/PSVR

Do yourself a favor and buy some sweatbands. They're used regularly by fitness enthusiasts and athletes, and the'll drastically reduce the chances of your headset getting damaged by your sweat (which has actually happened to me once).

I also do Beat Saber to workout, and like you I use an unorthodox method of doing so (honestly, I'm still working up the courage to post a vid of myself doing so). Presently I've lost nearly 160 pounds.

I find it very exciting to see people using VR in new and inventive ways!

u/Route66_LANparty · 1 pointr/OculusQuest

Don't have a Quest in particular yet, but heavy user of Vive, Rift, Vive Pro. Using fans in the room directed at you can make a huge difference keeping you from overheating.

Other than that large thin sweat/headbands are the way to go. I use wide but thin ones like this (https://www.amazon.com/Sports-Headband-Headbands-Sweatband-Sweatbands/dp/B07F7NGWCC/). They catch alot of sweat and don't interfere with the fit. I have a basket of them near the VR space that I rotate out. Sometimes switching to a fresh headband mid VR session. :-/

I've used VRCover's products to mixed results. Overall they are nice addition options to have. But they are not the magic bullet, only solution.

u/kdennis · 1 pointr/xxfitness

Have you done the skinny ones or thicker? Do you have a lot of hair? Help us troubleshoot, even if you sweat more than average doesn’t mean you can’t find a headband 😊😊😊

I would try a heavier duty one like this. Good luck!

I got a couple of sets of these from Amazon and they've worked well for me. I put them in the laundry after a few uses and they've held up well so far. There is also a three-pack available.

I use this one. I like it but I'm not convinced...

I have one of Mission's gaiters and they're perfect for cooling down and keeping dust out. It's made with athletics in mind, just put some water on it every once in a while for instant relief!
