Seconding u/theUnmutual6's recommendations, in addition to u/BlueSmoke95's suggestion to check out Ann Moura's work. I would like to recommend Ellen Dugan's Natural Witchery and her related domestic witchery books. Ellen is a certified Master Gardener and incorporates plants into much of her work.

Some of my favorite plant books!

The Cannabis Encyclopedia - Jorge Cervantes

It covers everything you’d need to know. It also has an illustrated diagnostic section, which for any novice grower is an invaluable resource (ie without needing the Internet)

A brief overview of the issue or curiosity I’m having is usually covered which I can then use to focus my attention toward a more in-depth resource.

I also recommend: Growing Elite Cannabis - Ryan Riley

I have an older digital version of this book, it has been republished so I’m sure they updated some of their information but this tome (516 pages) has a lot of good information. It’s easy-to-understand and has tons of good images to help illustrate the techniques and processes for all the major. It’s pretty costly (~$90-$100), but depending on your level of interest it could be a great investment to your growing knowledge.

Happy Growing!!

Organic Green Bell Pepper, Capsicum annuum, member of the Nightshade Family

Capsicum annuum includes bell pepper, chili, cayenne, chipotle, jalapeno, banana pepper, etc.

Magical Uses:

Chili peppers, the primary pepper in magical uses, are associated to Mars, the god of war. They are used in protection rituals. The Aztecs use chilies to exorcise evil spirits from the possessed. Sprinkling chilies around the house or wearing them on a string around the neck will ward off demons and vampires and burning the peppers will purify the house (also said to rid the house of insects).

A red bell pepper burned on a Friday night will prevent evil from harming humans.

Any variety of Capsicum annuum added to one’s diet will guard against negative energy.

Chilies, with their hot spice, are known as an aphrodisiac that ignite the flame of passion. The Aztecs were known to mix chilies with cocoa and vanilla for a more potent aphrodisiac.

And Amazonian shamans are known to use chilies in a Yage mixture, a hallucinogenic mixture, used both for healing rituals and vision quests.

Scientific/Herbal Uses:

Bell peppers specifically are an incredible source of vitamins and antioxidants. Bell peppers contain over thirty members of the carotenoid nutrient family and per cup, bell peppers contain about 1.45 miligrams of Vitamin E, 117-120 miligrams of Vitamin C, 2.5 grams of fiber, and much more.

Besides the high levels of carotenoid antioxidants, there are several other types of antioxidants, including: flavonoids- luteolin, quercetin, and hesperidin; carotenoids- alpha-carotene, beta-carotene, cryptoxanthin, lutein, and zeaxanthin; and hydroxycinnamic acids- ferulic acid and cinnamic acid.

Since bell peppers are so rich in antioxidants, they are considered an anti-cancer food. Chronic oxidative stress and excessive inflammation increase the risk of cancer, and nutrients present in bell peppers are both anti-inflammatory and antioxidant.

Cayenne peppers stimulate muscle movement and blood flow which is helpful for digestion, absorption of food nutrients, circulation, and in turn the absorption and circulation of other herbs and food throughout the body.
The peppers stimulate blood flow to the skin, causing a rise in body heat and sweat-inducing action. This encourages fevers to a degree, but since the blood is drawn away from internal organs and to the surface of the skin, heat is wicked away from the body more easily and lowers core body temperature.

It is often used topically as a pain relieving muscle rub as it causes heat and blood flow. It is most often used to treat arthritis, bursitis, and pain relief from psoriasis, herpes zoster, nerve pain, diabetic neuropathy, shingles, migraine headaches, back aches, menstrual cramps, and bruises.

there are 30 copies of that book availbible on amazon right now...

also, its not the book that is the wisdom, its the words that are in it, as long as we dont lose those words who cares...

also, the author of this book would probably be glad he did, because that means they are going to sell another book.

books are great things, and if someone did this to a first eddition moby dick, that would be one thing, but it is literally a REFERENCE MANUAL ABOUT SPICES FOR GOD SAKES CALM YOUR FUCKING TITS!

Lavender is difficult to propagate from seed. It is usually done in more controlled environment like a tunnel or greenhouse and then transplanted when much larger.

Income is wildly depending on the form and processing of the lavender before sales. It generally is sold as value added crop, not raw. Most of the lavender places I have researched or seen grow and process to some extent and sell products such as essential oils, soaps etc. If you are looking to sell large quatities there needs to be a place slose bby that is capable of handling the bulk. Ie shipping truck loads of bulk lavender across the country to be processed is expensive.

You need to find out if there is a company that does large scale oil extraction or processes lavender near you. Shipping form SC to the PAC-northwest or to upper Michigan where I have seen a bunch of these operations would be cost prohibitive.

This book is a pretty decent look at a lot of the things you would need to think about. But from a farming prospective there is going to be difficulty in being profitable on 50 acres if all you are able to do is the tilling.

I recommend visiting a local nursery and ask them for advice! They will know what grows best in your area, and they'll be able to help you get your soil ready. Congratulations! This is the first book that I read when I first started growing food: Postage Stamp Garden Book

Cervantes has it in his guerrilla gardening book, will have to pull it out and look, i think he ran a hose up and used a portable pump to water.

Happy birthday! You should grow your own vegetables!

A pack of cigarettes (an ounce of tobacco) is $4-18 in the USA, depending on where you live. According to Jorge Cervantes Marijuana Indoors: Five Easy Gardens including startup costs, an indoor weed garden's first crop costs about $70/oz and $7/oz each crop after. I doubt you have a valid claim for fair prices and community service. This disgusts me!
