In my experience, the actual bags are pretty useless.

I had appaloosas so notorious for NO tail whatsoever and the braided tail wrap is where it's at. Something like this: https://www.amazon.com/Intrepid-International-Tailwrap-Fleece-Braid/dp/B00GQP0YCM but we used to just to just make our own out of some polar fleece from whatever fabric store is handy because it's basically three tubes with tie bits on the top and bottom. Clean tail, slap a bunch of leave-in conditioner in it, braid that shit up (at LEAST 3 inches below the bone for safety), take it out to wash/condition/rebraid once a month or so.

I don't have much, but what I do have are very necessary! Especially the water fountain, as they both seem to really like running water. They drink straight from the taps!
