Sometimes ovens will smoke if there is a spill or it hasn't been cleaned in awhile. If it is a self cleaning oven, choose a chilly day and run the cleaning cycle. I buy this oven cleaner spray from Walmart or wherever. It works just like that. Use gloves or be careful to not get it on your skin. It’ll cause irritation.

It not only liquefied fifty years' grease, it burnt my arm and lungs. :D

Oven cleaner is usually just lye in a spray can. We use this sort of glassware all the time in lab, and when they get too dirty, we dump them in a base bath for a few days. Same principal as using oven cleaner.

I used EZ-off fume free on Kaldor Draigo (for science!). As you can see, he got pretty bendy and the spray ate away at some of the edges.

I opted for the Fume Free as I hear it does a worse job of stripping than the standard/heavy duty stuff. I knew I was working with finecast and didn't want it to completely melt.

I sprayed all sides profusely and stuck him in a ziplock bag for two days, paint just fell off.

Kaldor stiffened back up after a good 5 day rest.

Edit: So maybe don't use EZ off. Try Simple Green.
