Hi, well this is some improvement, but I have more info to help clarify things.

This looks like a 20 cc syringe, and that's still too big because more will squirt out and potentially get into lungs. It is a real improvement on the dropper, though, because that will aspirate more often than not.

This is the recommended size https://www.amazon.com/3ml-Syringe-Only-Luer-Slip/dp/B01DARUHSY/ref=sr_1_8_a_it?rps=1&ie=UTF8&qid=1536976956&sr=8-8&keywords=oral+syringes+3ml&refinements=p_85%3A2470955011 I picked one that is shipped by prime because you can get them shipped fast that way. I know it seems like a lot of syringes, but for the price... buy the 100. They wear out after a couple of days, at most. As soon as they drag it is time to recycle them because that drag will cause you to sometimes squirt and potentially aspirate. Also, the 100 pack is of the type that fits this comfortable nipple, if you want to get that, too https://www.amazon.com/Miracle-Nipple-Regular-Size-2-pack/dp/B00TKCPY14/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1536977347&sr=8-6&keywords=miracle+nipple

Here is a video with some elevator music demonstrating proper feeding position https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9640tFXD4Wo

Also check out this photo from one of our members. She got the nice miracle nipples there https://i.redd.it/w63fcgtl7vl11.jpg That is a good feeding position.

So feeding from the position where the syringe is above the baby risks aspiration, and feeding with a syringe that large does that same. You get points for effort, however.

Get that stuff, modify your technique and all will hopefully be fine. She will adjust to the new size and position quickly. You'll see.

For a girl this size you will have to give more than one 3 ml syringe per feeding, I think. Personally, I always nurse them until they refuse more. You can fill up more than one and put them in a cup of hot water to keep them warm and ready to give to her. That way they won't get cold even htough they are smaller.

I'd suggest not practicing IV's outside of class. You will get lots of practice in the field, and under the watchful eyes of someone that will (hopefully) stop you before you majorly fuck up.

However, if you insist on doing it anyway you can find anything on Amazon.

Also an option are 3ml plastic syringes, which come individually sealed and you can buy a bunch at once to avoid reusing them. 100 of them for $13.75 on Amazon here. Only drawback is the lack of a rounded tip, but they're still relatively narrow.

That is really unfortonate. Im sorry you have to deal with that kinda crap.

I see stuff like this on my amazon because my mom is diabetic, and i think you can buy the syringe pens on there too.
