I got one of those MicroForce Shavers, you know, the one they say you can shave underwater with. It'll be the last razor you'll ever need, so on and so forth.

I thought it'd be perfect since I was going on a week long TDY to the field. I had to repeatedly go over my facial hair pushing really hard to see any kind of result. The weekend when I got back, it fell apart. What a waste.

And no, I didn't buy it exclusively to shave underwater.

Yea I wouldnt buy a razor blade either.

My favorite pick would be this product

I have had the Panasonic Arc 5 ES-LV61-A for two years and I think it's great. It shaves plenty close for my medium thickness growth and the battery has held up. I think it is worth your consideration, There are plenty of positive reviews on Amazon...

Just get a trimmer like this: https://www.amazon.com/Braun-Electric-Trimmer-Ultimate-Washable/dp/B004WIUNCQ/ref=sr_1_3_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1511459252&sr=8-3

I have a different model, but it can give me something like this.

Shocked nobody has mentioned this yet: https://www.amazon.com/Braun-Pocket-Electric-Washable-Transparent/dp/B002PCPZQA/

Small, works well, and runs on AA’s that are easy to find anywhere (and you can use rechargeables too). I’ve been traveling with one of these for years and swear by it.

I recommend an electric shaver, especially one like this. I've found a sweet spot with cheaper models of nicer brands. The more expensive electric razors still cause a rash because they cut too close.

After doing quite a bit of research, I picked up this Panasonic 5 years ago, and have been using it happily ever since. No issues, and it still gives a very smooth shave.

That said, it looks as though they've updated this model since I purchased mine, so I can't vouch specifically for the new one... If they're still making them "like they used to", I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

This would be nice because it would save me from always buying disposable blades and would save me alot of time in the morning!

Here you go mate.

It's good for stubble as long as it doesn't get too long, hence me having a wet shave on the Monday. I get pretty bad razor burn if I wet shave every day but this is a lot kinder to my skin. Takes AA batteries and is good for in the field too.

So I know everyone's already harped on safety razors, but one I would recommend would be :

https://www.amazon.com/Braun-390CC-4-3Series-Shaver/dp/B00517W47O/ref=sr_1_21_s_it?s=beauty&ie=UTF8&qid=1466519525&sr=1-21&keywords=electric+razor

I used a similar model in RTC back in 2010 because I didn't like waking up and wetting my face. It was irritating as hell for the first few days, but it's always like that for me when I use an electric razor after using blades for a while.

I also need help. Manual shaving snags my hair badly. Never cut myself, but it just snags and wont CUT anything.

So, dad got me a Braun Series 3 370 because he has a similar one, knows everything, and said it would be awesome.

The main part won't do shit. Like, if I shaved with the main part it would take literally an hour. The little flip up trimmer work(ed) great though.

Until today, when the blade part fell off the end. Tried glueing it on but I'm not expecting it to last.

I borrowed my mum's BFs electric and tried that, it's a Phillips left handed one (i'm not left handed) with the 3 disk type head. It has a trimmer though so I figured I'd use that like I do mine, but to no avail. It snagged and barely cut.

So yeah, wtf... Am I alone? Can someone recommend a sheep shearer?

Yes indeed. For shaving I have one of these for daily, and I use a safety razor/brush/soap to shave on my days off. It keeps stubble pretty low, but it will still poke through make up after 6~7 hours. You might be able to get away with throwing one in your bag and going into your car on lunch? You'd have to re-do most (if not all) of your make-up, though.

My brother was going to Vietnam last year and I got him something similar to THIS. He said that it worked fine, and he charged it off a multi USB charger that worked fine over there.

Braun Waterflex Wet and Dry Shaver, Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00OE36HCO/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_TouAybYKQBZ8Q

Bought this a few months ago, works good. Used it after a two week leave "beard" and it cleaned my face up good. Foil is supposed to last about 18 months so it's a good investment, also I get less ingrowns.

If you're going with hair clippers to keep your hair buzzed, stick with Wahl, Oster, or Andis. These 3 have been in the business of hair clippers from the beginning. If you're going to be shaving your head and want to use electric, Panasonic shavers and Braun shavers both seem to do the job very well. Andis and Wahl also make professional grade foil shavers that barbers use to shave the skin. I use the Panasonic ES-RT47-S Arc 3 razor when I'm not using a razor blade. It gets very close. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00SIJSK98/ref=twister_B01N5NIF33?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

I do have very sensitive skin. I never use razors btw. I shave using this electric shaver.

Yea... I think I need to visit a dermatologist too.

If you have an issue with razor burns or folliculitis or have a tendency to cut yourself shaving, I highly recommend Braun electric shavers.
You can also dry shave without a cream and it is a comfortable experience, versus trying to dry shave with a blade. Charge lasts forever, and maintenance is a twice yearly cleaner cartridge - yes, this is self cleaning. While the initial outlay may be pricy, it's cheaper in the long run, and not getting a razor burn everyday is priceless. Their top of the line model costs around $400, but they have cheaper series 5 and 7 models that would probably be just as good.

My man has used Braun shavers for the last 15 years. He's only had to replace it once after about a decade of use, and he's currently using the 7 series model. Highly recommended, if you have to shave your face regularly.
