Looks like it has the same calories (260 packaged) per serving (2.5 ounces) as the original. Only difference calorie wise to the original seems to be the cauliflower box is smaller so it has 2 (instead of 3) servings per box.

Best I've found, not bad.

What others have said - you have a bunch of lemons, time to learn to make lemonade. I was a real foodie, got diagnosed in my mid-thirties. Used to love going out to eat, had to change that. I bought some cooking books, watched a lot of Alton Brown and youtube, and am now a semi-pro level chef. Instead of going out to eat, I invite people over, and it's awesome.

Celiac sucks, but not as much as you're feeling right now. Omelets, meats, rice-based dishes like Thai and Indian food - they're all naturally GF. You will have to give up fast food and easy carbs like donuts and muffins from shops, but you can totally cook them yourself at home. My daughter (also Celiac, 11yo) has become an amazing baker. She makes banana muffins, brownies... they're all terrific.

Good luck, it's hard at first, but if you let go of the resentment, you'll find that your diet is still amazing. Better than most people in the world!

I'm up-voting this in the hope that other people post things that I will want to get for myself.

My one idea for a gift would be some vegan mac & cheese.

try making your own indian and latin dishes. The ingredients are relatively cheap for the quantity (lentils, chickpeas, beans) and once you have the spices you're set. Also consider different starches - potatoes, sweet potatoes, GF oats, quinoa, cassava.

also, maybe these are celiac friendly https://www.amazon.com/Annies-Gluten-Cheddar-Macaroni-Cheese/dp/B000CQ01NS/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=annie%27s%2Bmac%2Band%2Bcheese%2Bgluten&qid=1565794374&s=gateway&sr=8-3&th=1

You can buy the official Kraft Cheese here:Link

or if your addiction becomes too expensive putting it on everything... I have started to purchase these and it isn't too much different. Link (These packets are actually to make a cheese sauce, but regardless, I sprinkle it as you would with the Kraft brand.)

u/applesforadam · 5 pointsr/Frugal

If you really wanted to be frugal and give yourself a bit of an ascetic test you could buy a large bag of rice and a multivitamin. You would be fine for the month, and just think how good that first real meal would be when the month is over. Plus, you'd save a lot of that card for other things. If you wanted to make it less harsh, you could buy a few splurge foods like:

Spaghetti-O's (you could actually just buy these and be fine for the month too, 5 cans a day = $5 x 30 days = $150)

Mountain House dehydrated meals

Mac and Cheese

Any number of other things, really. The rice is an absolute frugal grocery staple. Beyond that, go to Amazon and search the listings under Grocery>Packaged Meals & Side Dishes. Just don't forget a multivitamin.

My favorite from that article -- even beyond the idiocy of the $X,000 shoes (how insanely absurd can you get?) is the seemingly trivial...

>>1. “I spend my money on $20 mac and cheese from a restaurant literally across the street from my apartment. Some days you just need what you need and that thing that you need is gourmet mac and cheese brought to your door from half a block away.” —Nik, 23

It's just who the FUCK -- in their right mind or even NOT in their right mind -- actually pays $20 for "Mac & Cheese"?

--
I mean we're talking what about 50 cents worth of actual food value; and moreover something that can be stored on the shelf (almost indefinitely) & can be microwaved faster & with less effort than ordering & waiting for it to be delivered (even if it IS "across the street") -- just how fucking lazy/incompetent/idiotic can you possibly BE to pay $20 for that???

--
Also, it's "Macaroni & Cheese" -- I don't give a shit what anyone claims -- there simply is NO SUCH THING as "Gourmet" Mac & Cheese.

u/jamison3659 · 3 pointsr/personalfinance

Three meals a day. I'd do it in February so 28 days... 28 * 3 = 84 meals. Call it 90 for contingency.

6 order of this costs me $81. I have prime so free shipping.

Plus the cost of butter and milk.

Can I add hot dogs or turkey to the mix? Can I grill it in a grilled mac and cheese sandwich?

u/michaelbaer · 2 pointsr/burgers

Actually, it's Cracker Barrel Mac n Cheese. I just got it from the local grocery store!

u/Cgoomz · 2 pointsr/shittyfoodporn

It's alla vodka sauce and a can of tuna on top of one of these. Normally the cheese packet is supposed to get mixed in. We sprinkled it on as a garnish for stylish effect. Also seasoned with Old Bay and black pepper.

u/paunchysnickersnee · 2 pointsr/casualiama

I love home made popcorn from the hot air poppers. Tastes so good, NOTHING GETS BURNT!! Yay, only a few kernels don't pop. And If you get the butter topping it tastes phenomenal and is good for you. Fiber Fiber Fiber!
I use this and this: Butter topping thats all natural and very yummy
I use this when I want cheese flavor/Cheddar flavor.. Add a little bit a t a time. I usually just buy the craft boxes of mac and cheese and just save a little from the packet. Its much cheaper.

u/nahcabmA · 2 pointsr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

I gifted on my old account, does that count?

The most important thing on my wishlist right now is probably this macaroni and cheese. It's important because I accidentally overdrafted the bank account, and I need to make sure we have enough food to last us until next Friday.

Annie's makes a gf rice mac and cheese that's quite good. Trader Joe's also sells the same product but packaged in their house brand, and it's usually cheaper.

They carry it at all the grocery stores around here, right next to the Kraft. Also Annie's at Amazon.

I loved Kraft Mac & Cheese when I was, like seven years old. As an adult, I'll tolerate it if I'm in some sort of situation where there's no better alternative. If you're looking for an authentic representation of cheap, low-quality, highly processed American food, go with the Kraft. If you're looking for a meal that you'll enjoy, you'll have better odds with the Annie's. Or you can DIY it with some pasta and a cheddar cheese based sauce.

u/AuntChiladas · 2 pointsr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

This is the only thing my 14 year old cousin will eat for dinner. I'm sorry that you're allergic.

Cheese me please.

Thanks for the contest!

u/falloutnewsalem · 2 pointsr/GifRecipes

this recipe is basically a homemade version of kraft mac n cheese cups (also known as easy mac). you put the pasta in water and heat it for around 3.5 minutes on high in the microwave and somehow it's perfectly cooked every time.

u/ash_274 · 2 pointsr/mildlyinteresting

Kraft offered a shaker can of the same cheese powder that came in Mac N Cheese (Dinner, to Canadians) but they discontinued it.

On popcorn, it was glorious, but you had to find zero-butter popcorn or it tasted like crap, for some reason

u/way2gimpy · 1 pointr/AskReddit

You can't get cheaper than this. That's about a pound ($1.33) a box! There aren't many cheese mongers around (and in the US they will sell "artesenal" cheese at huge markups). Trust me, the only thing cheaper are ramen noodle packets.

u/Cakeybaby · 1 pointr/AskReddit

Here in the Midwest it is in the same section as grated Parm and Cheez Whiz. Its like a 6oz shaker can.

I found it on amazon if you're not in the MW. http://www.amazon.com/Kraft-Macaroni-Cheese-Topping-12CT/dp/B000I60JUW

Ramen, even in the cups (as opposed to the noodle blocks in bags) is $0.18 per ounce.

I tried being vegan for a little while, and I went back to just being a vegetarian because you're right...it's so stinkin' hard to find stuff without dairy in it! I hope you'll like this cheeseless mac and cheese! And also this great book on vegan cheeses aka cheese replacements that are awesome.

Surprise me!

Daiya mac and cheese

Pho!

These amazing caramel macaroons

The Glutino oreos are good, I just wish they didn't have palm oil!

u/plasticblanket · 1 pointr/ShittyVeganFoodPorn

It definitely needed to be seasoned, and I like having more control over how well done my pasta is... I'm a fan of Roads End Shells & Chreess with tapatio. Annie's was way too sweet for me and I remember really not liking the Daiya Cheezy Mac but I don't know why... I'd love more recommendations if you've found a good boxed one!

u/Hostofdreams · 1 pointr/Food_Pantry

Holy crap, are you serious? 50 dollars is a lot of money. That's loads of food.

I'd say I could make these last a long time:

The 52 count oatmeal
http://amzn.com/B000O9WEY2

The 15 pack of kraft mac and cheese
http://amzn.com/B0019RLJV2

The 12 pack of Big Beef Ravioli
http://amzn.com/B003XUJ3RK

Those would last me a good long time. Especially the oatmeal. I can make that last for ages. I'll leave it up to your discretion though as well. I've had mac and cheese with just water and it's really not the worst thing in the world. Certainly better than nothing! Thank you so, so much!

u/[deleted] · 1 pointr/AskReddit

12 boxes of Annie's
at $1.70 per box ($1.44 with subscribe and save)

24 boxes of Annie's
at $1.50 per box ($1.27 with subscribe and save)

of course Kraft is cheaper at $1.22 a box (for a slightly large box too)

Never even have to go to the store. They have crazy different varieties on there too.

u/simiangeek · 1 pointr/Frugal

There's also this, it's exactly the same stuff in the kraft mac-n-cheese. You should be able to find it cheaper by the cans of parmesan at your local grocer.

EDIT: Never mind that, after a minute of searching, found this. They've got all the kraft powder cheese flavors (white cheddar and parmesan...)

u/amiso · 1 pointr/AskReddit

I actually use Kraft Mac and Cheese Shakers to catch mice and rats. Sprinkle some on peanut butter and you're good to go!!

u/abclop99 · 1 pointr/Recursion
u/sothisisfun · 1 pointr/InfertilityBabies

Hells yes. I had one final canister of this stuff hoarded in the freezer from before they discontinued it, and went through quite a bit of it while pregnant. My grandmother always had a can of "Grated American Cheese Food" around, which is long gone, and I can't even find a pic of it on the Internets. Luckily this stuff is a fine replacement -- allegedly, it's actually Kraft powdered cheese.

Those look like some of those items you often see that are so astronomically priced, there is no way it can actually sell, but for whatever reason it is still online.

E.g. this item weighs about 1.4 kg total, but costs $25 +$52 in shipping. WTF?

Hi -- here are some things you might add, based on what you say you like:

Peanut butter: http://www.amazon.com/Creamy-Peanut-Butter-Twin-Ounce/dp/B00061ETX2/ref=sr_1_10?ie=UTF8&qid=1419134519&sr=8-10&keywords=peanut+butter

Jelly (grape, but there are other kinds): http://www.amazon.com/Welchs-Concord-Grape-Jelly-jars/dp/B0046ZD6LK/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1419134732&sr=8-3&keywords=jelly

Nutella: http://www.amazon.com/Nutella-Chocolate-Hazelnut-Spread-35-3oz/dp/B008IGB0QQ/ref=sr_1_2?s=grocery&ie=UTF8&qid=1419134619&sr=1-2&keywords=nutella

mac and cheese: http://www.amazon.com/Kraft-Macaroni-Cheese-7-25-oz-Boxes/dp/B0019RLJV2/ref=pd_bxgy_gro_text_z

Pasta (there are others, but this seemed like a lot for the money, at least at first glance, and given that we're talking Amazon Prime): http://www.amazon.com/Barilla-Pasta-Rotini-Farfalle-Value/dp/B003N9HMQ0/ref=sr_1_34?s=grocery&ie=UTF8&qid=1419134819&sr=1-34&keywords=pasta

Pasta sauce: http://www.amazon.com/Barilla-Pasta-Sauce-Variety-Ounce/dp/B00FQGP20Q/ref=sr_1_47?s=grocery&ie=UTF8&qid=1419134819&sr=1-47&keywords=pasta

Parmesan cheese (because pasta!): http://www.amazon.com/Milanos-Parmesan-Cheese-Grated-Ounce/dp/B00B1OWX2M/ref=sr_1_9?s=grocery&ie=UTF8&qid=1419135159&sr=1-9&keywords=parmesan+cheese

There are lots of others; these are just thoughts. They're things you say you like, and honestly, I'd rather buy them than Pringles (for one thing, they are much more yummy.) Let me now if you update it; in any case, happy holidays1

Between the lack of variety, and the stupid high purchase/shipping costs on them, there's no way amazon can have a reasonable grocery option in Canada.

I mean... 48 bucks for a 12 pack of kraft dinner, plus 12 dollars shipping? Not bad enough? How about the same thing, in American packaging, for 131 bucks?

Not bad enough? How about $120 for a 6-pack of ramen? What about $600 for a 10-pack?

If Amazon wants to do anything about food in Canada, they seriously need to curate the offerings some and get rid of the bullshit.
