I think something like this cooking set would be super cute for Adela --- I remember cooking with my dad, and he'd let me pick out a recipe and we'd cook it together for dinner, it was so fun. Plus, she'd have her own measuring spoons, and you guys could do cookies or something so Isla could help decorate :)
These are a little more expensive, but you could get them both a set of rollerskates! and of course, knee pads!. Might be a little hard for Isla, but it would be a fun springtime activity, and plus getting to teach them something or to share a first activity of any kind is always fun <3

Ok. I am guessing that modified shoes would be too much work for multiple pitchers, so you probably want some kind of force sensing mats on the mound. This company seems to have a ready made system but they don’t even show prices so it’s probably way expensive.

Here’s an interesting instructible similar to your goal which should be not too expensive

You definitely roll your own system with load cells and a multipart platform, I am not sure how consistent the foot placement is for pitching. You can make each platform segment have 4 load cells (one at each corner) and calculate average force that way.
You could also use FSRs for the platform corner sensors.

You could make some shoe attachments like old school roller skates used to clip onto shoes where you add the load cells or FSRs instead of trucks/wheels.

i'm two weeks in, my team practices 2x a week but i can only make one most weeks because of an evening class: i want to get better at skating outside of that since once a week is not a lot, but i am a broke grad student and will have to save for a while before i can afford good skates. would it be worthwhile to get some cheap-ass children's skates (looking at these specifically) for outdoor use while i'm working towards that mst, or would that money be put to better use elsewhere? (i mean obviously it would be better not spent on amazon but what can ya do)
