I live in tights - for every day wear, while playing roller derby, basically anytime I go out in something other than yoga clothes! I second the advise on choosing the dark of two colors if you feel one could be too light - otherwise you'll look chalky. I prefer control top and will sometime buy the tall/plus sized hose just because they are easier to get on and off, especially with Hanes - but I'm a muscular size 12, so that's makes a difference. Leg Avenue makes fairly durable - I get 10ish wears but rock the holes/runs - patterned and fishnet tights that breath well
Hue are a little more expensive but have a ton of colors and also are good for winter/cool weather wear; I can get 10+ wears of daily wear from these
The Spanx work for "daily wear" but not for derby or with shorts for me.....

Hopefully that link will work. I really like these. I had bought different pair once but I couldn't stand it because they were so scratchy. These are really soft and really good material. I normally destroy tights immediately and I'm going on two months with these with only a tiny whole really high in the thigh.

So they're not the cheapest thing on the face of the planet, but Glamory Perfect20 Stockings are pretty opaque, matte thigh highs that come in a "make-up" color to match (white) skin tones. I love mine. They feel really nice and stay up all day.
They also apparently make these guys that are pantyhose as opposed to stockings and 70 denier which would very opaque. I cannot, however, speak to how those look or feel because I don't own them.
I do however, own the hold-ups and another pair of stockings from them and have found them to be quite good quality and with a lot of sizes.
Edit to Add: If you haven't heard of them, there's a business called Sock Dreams that has SO MANY OPTIONS for all things sock and hosiery, maybe you can find something there.
The garment shown in the original picture covers the body from the waist to the feet. The top half is sheer, but unquestionably present. It looks like most of these are being marketed as "tights" and not "pantyhose", but they are not stockings.
It's almost like I knew what I was talking about when I posted.

Why would it? It's a recent fashion trend, meant to emulate Japan's Zettai Ryoiki look without requiring garters, tight tops, or stay-ups. You'd be more likely to find it under "thigh highs" or Zettai Ryoiki. It's not really relevant whether it's "a thing", though -- it's what the girl in OP's picture is wearing.

Pack it up and go home everyone, I was wrong. Despite selling enough volume to be manufactured by Leg Avenue, carried by Hot Topic, Amazon, and Sock Dreams, these are "not a thing". You can tell, because nobody searches for them on YouTube.
They're just leg warmers/knee socks, and, based on the shredding/curling around the thumb holes and the fit on his(her?) arms, it looks like they just bought two pairs and cut the feet off of one and made them into gloves.

Personally, I don't think you can go wrong with jewelry! If you think she would be interested in earrings, these are adorable and I would wear them daily if I could: Diamond cat earrings and Pearl cat ear earrings

By the way, I had found a pair of stockings similar to this back in 2015. I got 'em for a female friend of mine and when she put them on to take the picture she said they were really, really comfortable, though they had some issues staying up since the "garter belt" portion is not quite tight enough. I think they'd be a good addition for you. Not quite as high-quality as the stockings in these pictures, but they're definitely different!
In any case, you gotta get someone with a good lighting setup and a nice high-end camera for some good pinups!
