In Navy & Grey, both medium. I outgrew it a little thanks to my lanky arms growing even more, but the midsection is perfect and the quality is surprisingly very very solid - still going strong. I am not a fan of the stripes though... always reminded me of toothpaste... so this year I didn't re-up on this particular style.

Got it a few days ago in Large. Fits fairly well prewash. i imagine it'll only get better with a tiny shrinkage.

I realized I've been been dressing like shit for my entire life after moving to the US last year (I'm 23). Came to this sub, found the "Basic Bastard" guide via the sidebar, and purchased a lot of cheap stuff from Amazon this Saturday to start a wardrobe. Here are the purchases:

Olive chinos

White t-shirt

Clarke's Bushacre 2 (wanted to get the CDB, but these were $40 cheaper)

Super cheap black parka

Brown belt

I already had a grey t-shirt, and a white OCBD.

I am going to Sydney for two weeks where it's winter right now, where I'll be trying out these outfits. Please let me know if you have any (low-cost) suggestions!

You're running into the same problem i used to run into. The medium fits better around the arms and shoulders and chest, but its too short, and if it shrinks just a little, you're screwed. But the large swallows your arms and chest but fits better around the waist and the length looks longer.

The solution is to either buy large and hope/try to shrink it a bit in the dryer. Or find some medium long shirts.

Here is my go-to medium long shirt. I love these shirts and i have them in a bunch of different colors. The top and sleeves fit like a medium, but its a little longer in length. The only downside is that they shrink a bit, so just wash on gentle and air dry them.

If you're set on Uniqlo brand, the medium looks a little nicer, but be careful washing and drying it, because if it shrinks it won't look good any more

The Amazon reviews are hilarious. Makes me flash back to the reviews of the wolf shirt.

Where can I get slim-fit flannels that aren't ugly as fuck?

I really like the patterns on these but I just received one today and it is just way too large and boxy.

All of the slim-fitting flannels that I find either have just straight checkered patterns or have thin lines in their patterns that make them look way too busy.

these (or any next level apparel shirts) run real long, almost exclusively what I wear for normal day-day shirts

Button downs I have a ton of J-Crew XL-Talls (J-Crew Factory has them for like $25-$50)

Bonobos now carrys Long button downs too (slim fit makes you look thicc) and their 36" inseam athletic fit pants/jeans are great too, wearing a pair of the summer weight jeans right now

I've trial/errored a ton of different brands if you need to be awared

Woolly doesn't make the absolute highest quality merino gear, but it's good enough for anyone who isn't out in the forest.

These are strictly my opinions:

Woolrich Oxbow Bend (7oz), Patagoina Fjord Flannel (6.5 oz) are my two favorites.

Right behind them is my Wallace & Barnes (J. Crew) heavyweight flannel that I got for like $9 during the flashening last year. I'd never pay full price for it, however. Part of why I love it so much is because it cost less than a couple of coffees from Starbucks.

Best bang-for-your-buck bargain (again-- my opinion) is Legendary Whitetails. Sizing can be a bit odd though. I think they are made for the Mossy-Oak-Salt-Life-hunter/fisherman guys who trend towards having a larger size gut. You won't find slim fits here.

If you can get them on sale (got mine for $25) American Eagle makes a surprisingly great flannel shirt.

If price is no object, then Iron Heart.

I've found the design is called Yeezy '81, but I've only seen it in tee shirts and I really want a tank.

Yes, Mexican wedding shirts work very well.

Note: I bought dark colors and like the snug fit, but if I decide to buy one of the lighter colors I think I may size up.
