I'd look at this for a survival kit. As long as you diligently replace anything you use, it can replace a lot of stuff. For bug spray, get something as close to 100% DEET that you can find. Carry concentrated and dilute just before use.
Add a handkerchief; you'll never run out of uses for it. It can prefilter your water, be a wash cloth, pot holder, keep the sun off you neck (get it wet to keep you cool), etc.
I read earlier the recommendation to weigh everything individually. I can't overemphasize this enough. You'll have a few "holy shit" moments where you realize how much something weighs.
not that large... I'm thinking more like quikclot
wish i could find the stuff that they use in the military for wound-packs though.

I'm a nurse and we use live swords in our iai training so I made sure our dojo had a good first aid kit.
Ventolin is (at least in the US) prescription only. If your students have severe asthma they should bring their inhaler. For heart attacks you want full-strength aspirin on hand. Hypoglycemia, have disintegrating glucose tabs.
First aid kit or survival kit. I keep something like this on me at all times anyways.

We've gotten these from a medical supply chain online or from people that work in health care, if you want I'll see if I can get a cheaper link.
We get nose tork pretty much exclusively from APT.
I know others are out there - but I've never seen one that compact be so complete. This is the closest I've seen, but it's lacking medical. I suppose you could stuff the same supplies you have in there too.
::EDIT:: This one isn't bad either.
If he doesn't already have one:

Water bottles, like contigo or blender bottles specifically that have plastic loops. I always feel like my hands are full and have to loop it on a finger.
Sunglasses and hats.
Athletic socks.
Dry fit polos
Long sleeve under armor
Anatomy Coffee Mugs
Finally there's a t-shirt that says I found this humerus. Look it up. My brother bought it for me for Christmas a while back. I did find it humorous. It's my favorite shirt.
Get them a FIRST AID KIT!
It'll mean a lot coming from someone who's in medical school, and it's a useful practical thing to have.
that's a pretty legit list right there. I have a trunk full of gear, probably worth almost as much as my car. I do a lot of contract work, so my list is pretty much the same just slightly beefed up.
Replenishables
contractor things
and a myriad of other small parts pertaining to surveillance system installs, and screw bits for my drill, and i even have secured walkies for when i have multiple employees on site. plus i have to admit bluetooth headsets for when i have to deal with helpdesks or tech support while i'm on site... did i mention i do a lottttt of contract work. i'm all over the place. every now and then i run into things that this kit can't handle but for the most part i come away with a rather professional look.
sorry for formatting, i've seen plenty of these posts this is the first time i took time to actually look up evrything i've purchased.
Edit: Some formatting. added velcro :P
Johnson & Johnson sells an empty first aid bag that is free with the purchase of five J&J first aid items, or $5-10 on its own. I've seen it in grocery stores and drugstores.
Build Your Own First Aid Kit
I picked one up, and am pretty happy with it. It was easy to hit five J&J items between band-aids, gauze, tape, Benadryl and more band-aids. It is reasonably sturdy, light, and has useful pockets inside to keep things organized.
